1.1 Performances of my Sole Compositions

a. The following (sole) compositions of mine were performed during the Tenth Sydney Spring
International Festival of New Music, in a concert held by the ensemble austraLYSIS at The
Studio, Sydney Opera House, Sydney, on 2 September 1999:
Ian Shanahan: Dimensiones Paradisi (1991/1998), for solo (amplified) alto flute
[Kathleen Gallagher].
Ian Shanahan: Lines of Light: Seven Improvisations on (1991/1993), for
amplified recorders [Ian Shanahan], two Yamaha DX7 keyboard synthesizers
[Roger Dean], and metallic percussion instruments [Daryl Pratt and Richard
Gleeson].
Ian Shanahan: Zodiac: Crystal Orbit Improvisations (1996), a mandalicon for amplified
soprano recorder [Ian Shanahan], MIDI wind instrument [Sandy Evans],
keyboard synthesizer [Roger Dean], and optional real-time computer control
[MAX patch].
Ian Shanahan: Cycles of Vega (19881991), for ee clarinet [Peter Jenkin], and percussion
[Daryl Pratt and Richard Gleeson].

1.2 Sole Compositions released on Compact Disc

a. Compact Disc: Shoalhaven Suite. Broad Music Records Jade JAD CD 1087.
Ian Shanahan: Cycles of Vega (19881991), Roslyn Dunlop (ee clarinet), Daryl Pratt and
Tony Cowdroy (percussion).
Released in Australia, the U.S.A. and Europe through EMI, December 1999.

1.3 Participation in a Performance

a. See 1.1a above.


b. Ian Shanahan (bass recorder), participated in a performance during the Tenth Sydney Spring
International Festival of New Music, in a concert held by the ensemble austraLYSIS at The
Studio, Sydney Opera House, Sydney, on 2 September 1999: The remaining work I
performed, with the ensemble austraLYSIS, was a free improvisation:
austraLYSIS: Free Improvisation (1999) for amplified bass recorder [Ian Shanahan],
soprano saxophone [Sandy Evans], keyboard synthesizer (Yamaha DX7) [Roger
Dean], and percussion [Daryl Pratt].
