I talked with and discussed over multiple days through email to reserve the star lab on
August 24th. The teacher is going to come and set up the lab and teach multiple groups of
students. I also had to use a portion of the summer school budget to pay for the teacher to come
to the school and complete this during the day.

After discussing with the Star Lab teacher I then created an Aug. 24th STAR LAB and
creamery field trip schedule. This is also when I decided to do a mini field day. The summer
school teachers thought that this would be an excellent way to celebrate the end of summer
school. I then created activities that the students will complete such as a craft station, chalk
station, and bubble station.

After talking with the summer school teachers, I then developed an equitable schedule as
well as a staff rotation to help cover breakfast, lunch, and recess duty. I made sure that all staff
got a necessary break and a duty free lunch period.

8/8/17 - 8/24/17 (2 Hours)

Talking with summer school parents on the phone to discuss students day and behavior
concerns. Getting the students excited to come to summer school weekly by providing prizes
and incentives when they attended.

Reflection:
Throughout this experience, I had to talk with many individuals in the school and
coordinate many schedules. It was necessary to take into consideration the Kindergarten
rooms we were borrowing for the three weeks, the teachers that were teaching summer
school, and the students that were attending. It was important that I was professional and
understanding during the entire experience. It is a challenge for me to share myself with
others and open up to people. This is why I selected this standard to try to be more open
with staff and students. It is also a challenge for me to not interrupt people when they are
talking. I am always Go!, Go!, Go! and I need to be mindful to slow down and listen to
what a person is saying before I start answering them.
Having a great summer school staff allowed me to share responsibilities. I knew that the
teachers were hard working and would create wonderful lessons for the summer school
students.
