We can close an application that is not responding as follows:
Press Ctrl + Alt + Del keys simultaneously Select Start Task Manager option from Task Manager
Dialog box is displayed Click on Applications tab Select the not responding application
Press End task button. This will close the non-responding application.

9. What is the Windows Desktop?


Desktop: The desktop is the primary user interface of a computer Operating System. It is the
background image of a display screen, on which windows, icons of files, folders and other graphical
items appear in the graphical user interfaces.

We can modify or change computer date and time as follows:

To Change the desktop background: Click on Start Button Go to the Control Panel Click on
Change desktop background under Appearance and Personalization Now from the available
themes or background color, select the desired theme or color. This will change the desktop
background.

To shut down a computer: Click on the Start Button Click on the Right pointing arrow at the bottom right
of the Start menu Click on the Shutdown Command. This will shut down the computer.

program Select Program Click uninstall/change program.

23. Restart windows: Start Button>Arrow to the right side of Shutdown> Restart.

desktop Personalize Desktop Background Click on the desired picture Save Changes.
