Pratap Faujdar: Kavi Sammelan

Pratap Faujdar, born and brought up in Punjab and an engineer by profession, has been writing
humorous poetry for last five and is a popular figure in his locality for his sense of humour. A member of
Hasya kavi Sammelan, Faujdars jokes mainly focus on political satire and social issued based on his daily
life experiences. He also an automobile components factory.

For his comic acts Faujdar is indebeted to his mentor, renowned comedian Ashok Chakradhar for his
guidance. On his entry to The Great India Laughter Challenge Dwitiya contest, Faujdar says, I am
thankful to one of my friend from Agra for sending one CD performance of mine to STAR. The Channel
was impressed with my comic talent and the rest is history.
 Speaking on his performance, Faujdar says, Shekhar Suman was impressed with my accurate and
artistic performance while Navjot Singh Sidhu came up to personally congratulate me on stage. Pratap
Fauzdar started reciting his poems in Kavi-Sammelans since 2003, earlier he used to recite his creation in
Veer Ras(OJ). But gradually he started including laughter and humor in his performance which later led
him to THE GREAT INDIAN LAUGHTER CHALLENGE.

After getting the title of THE LAUGHTER CHAMPION his popularity on stage and comedy shows
grew rapidly. In current scenario also, after rocking the stage with humor and laughter he winds up his
performances with patriotic creations. And he is the only person capable of moulding up the
performance is such a form. Pratap Fauzdar is one and only poet in the history of Kavi-Sammelan
Industry to perform in more than 40 countries till date. He has been honored by a lot of lot of reputed
National and International Institutions. He has done approx 1800 Kavi-sameelan and 1100 laughter
shows on National and International TV Series like The Great Indian Laughter Challenge, The Great Indian
Laughter Champion, Laughter Nights, Comedy Circus, Just Laugh Baaki Maaf, Fauzdar Hoshiyar(Dedicated
Faujdar Show) and Comedy King The Real Muqabla Pakistan vs India on ARY Pakistan. His most famous
creation TIRANGA was especially honored by the then Vice-President of India Bhairav Singh
Shekhawat.
