Bliss of Writing

Having blessed with a graceful evening, I had been rejuvenated by every sip of coffee and the visual
senses of mine were enthralled by a sublime movie titled Pandemonium directed by Julien Temple. The
movie depicted the lives of the renowned English poets William Wordsworth and Samuel Taylor
Coleridge. My senses were being streamed by the vivid imagery of the various plots of the movie.
Somewhere in the mid of the movie, Wordsworth and Coleridge decide to author a book called
Prelude. Meanwhile, Wordsworths sister, Dorothy, was driving their motivation through some warm
sips of coffee. Coleridge sat throughout the night while manifesting his sublime thoughts into words
and he could write several hundreds of pages but Wordsworth could not even pen down a few
sentences. Consequently, Wordsworth started suspecting his own writing abilities and gradually losing
the hope of becoming a successful writer. Dorothy, who was being a driving force for Wordsworth,
took her brother into the womb of Nature and made him feel his own sensitivities towards the
splendiferous, pristine and jocund Nature. This helped Wordsworth to integrate his intellect and poetic
sensibilities and authored volumes of literature chanting the pristine beauty of transcendental Nature.
The above excerpt from my cognitive store is one of the best openers to express my thoughts on the
Bliss of Writing. The term Bliss is defined as supreme happiness; utter joy or contentment and
Writing is defined as An act of passing information through the combination of grammatically formed
words. It is very much evident that the contemporary wiring has been greatly intended to pass on the
information through the defined structures of linguistic expressions. It is palpable that the readers find
only the information and nothing beyond. I often ponder Is Writing meant only for information or it
is meant for giving rich reading experience to the readers. Indeed, the theories of Neuro Linguistic
Programming infer that every word and every linguistic expression has their own impact on the
readers.
As I interrogate myself on the purpose of writing, I sail back thousands of years on the chronicles of
language evolution wherefrom the words emerged out of symbols and every symbol had their own
soul, later, the symbols were manifested in the form of words and every word carrying its own heritage.
Every word drenched with the cultural magnificence and historical significance, they trailed along with
human evolution and now they stand before us having their own beauty. Reflecting on these thoughts
and the evolution of the language, I strongly believe that the words have the tremendous power of
manifesting the writers thoughts in the written form. Recollecting some of my experiences in writing, I
have shared some of my suggestions to derive that bliss of writing:
Feel while Writing: Writing has been considered as a cumbersome activity and it is considered solely to
convey the information. I believe that writing is beyond conveying information, indeed, writing is
meant to make the readers feel and experience the information. Nowadays, most of the professional
writing agencies are trying to blend the appropriate emotions in their writing so that it can touch the
heart of the intended readers. Hence, it is advised to integrate your intellect and soul to feel every word
and articulation before you send it to your readers.
Unfurl the Wings of Imagination: As a writer, I strongly believe that imagination or visualization is the
soul of writing skill. As we peep through the folios of human history, it is the power of imagination
that propelled the scientific inventions and the genesis of exquisite literature. Indeed, the power of
imagination enables the writers to explore new dimensions of linguistic expressions.
Reflection of your Self: the psychologists opine that the personality or the behavioural patterns of an
individual can be judged by the writing style and the word choice that he/she makes while writing. It is
true that you are reflecting your vulnerabilities to the readers through your word choice or linguistic
expressions. Hence, you have to be very conscious about your writing style before you send it to the
readers as you are sending your own cognitive blueprint and ensure that your cognitive blueprint is
speaking in favour of you.
Empathize with reader: Anyone can speak volumes but it takes a wise man to write and it is true in
this contemporary age of electronic communication, wherein, much of the correspondence happen
through e-mails. The advantage of oral communication over written communication is that the speaker
can directly feel the reception of his ideas but in writing, the writer doesnt know how his ideas or
information is deciphered. In this regard, the writer has to cognitively transform himself/herself into
reader and try to comprehend the reception of the conveyed information and it is also about
understanding the readers experience or visualization.
Emotions in Writing: the top executives of the organization to the common man in the street, all are
humans and all humans are emotional creatures. Besides, these emotional creatures crave to be
anointed by the positive emotions. Indeed, the writing has the ability to beautify these emotions.
Therefore, the professional writers have been assimilating and manifesting these positive emotions in
their writing so that their main professional objectives are realized.
Recollecting some of my own observations on the bliss of writing, I wish to conclude saying that
writing is not just a channel of communication but it is way of connecting heart to heart and intellect
to intellect. Every piece of your writing is not just a bundle of words with multiple sentences
consciously interlaces and every word carefully braided, ultimately, reflecting the thoughts of the writer
explicitly.
