Introduction:
1. Thestudentswillsharetheirnearestanddearestheartsthatthey
completedforhomework.
2. Explainthateachstudentshouldchoosejustonethingoffoftheir
nearestanddearestheartstowriteabout.Explainthattheyneedto
havemorethan1sentence,eachsentenceneedstostartwitha
capitalletterandendwithaperiod,exclamationpointorquestion
markandthatgoodauthorsalwaysstartwiththewordsandthen
theydrawthepicture.
3. Gooverthewritingtoolsthattheyhavebeenworkingon.
a. Circleandmoveon-Whentheydontknowhowtospella
word,theystretchitoutandiftheydontthinkitisspeltwrite
theycircleitandmoveon.Theywillgobackwhentheyfinish
it.
b. Stretchoutthewords-Stretchoutthewordstohearallthe
sounds.
c. OurDictionary-Eachstudenthasagreendictionarybookin
theirwritingfolder.Theycanuseittofindwordsthattheyare
tryingtospell.

Implementation:
1. Askeachstudenttopickoutthewritingpaperthattheywanttouse
andhavethemsitattheirseatswiththeirnearestanddearesthearts
aswellastheirwritingfolders.
2. Explainagainthattheyneedtowriteabout1thingontheirnearest
anddearesthearts.
3. Walkaroundtheroomhelpingthestudentsastheyneeditproviding
moreorlessscaffolding.

theirwritingsamples.
