This is Solomon Tamiru from Haramaya University, College of Agriculture and Environmental
Sciences, School of Natural Resources Management and Environmental Sciences. It is to apply
for the vacant position for ECHO Team Leader which was advertised on ethiojobs website with a job
vacancy no. 007/16. I appreciate this opportunity to introduce myself to your company and to
apply for the position. With my educational background and working experience in the field of
soil science, I strongly believe that I am suitable candidate for the position and I believe that my
competencies and academic records recommend me for the limited number of places you have . I
personally believe that every person applying for this position should be as much as specialized in
the stream and practice in that field, as me.

I have taken a number of trainings in my stay at the job environment among which scientific paper
writing, crop simulation modeling, strategic planning and management, computer literacy are
some. I also have my article published on a journal. The fact that I have been in the academic
environment and that the area of the duty is in line with my profession assures that this position
wont be a difficult one for me and make me the right candidate. Working experience received
provided me with a deeper realization of importance of being competent in various spheres of
agriculture and research which make an agriculturalist to be complete expert in his/her field of
specialization. The understanding of this fact and my strong aspiration to become highly qualified
servant led me to a decision to apply for the position.

As I understand, this position is very competitive, attracting highly motivated personnel, but I am
convinced that my good records as a researcher, coordinator and lecturer give me a strong
recommendation for a place at it. I would be honored if you decide to accept my candidateship to
be an ECHO Team Leader.
