Course:
The purpose of this course is to help the student trace the development of western civilizations,
beginning with the Renaissance. The Age of Discoveries, the Reformation of the Catholic Church and
the Age of the Democratic Revolution are dealt with in the first half of the course. The second half
deals with the struggle for empires, the Industrial Revolution, World War I and II, and the Cold War.
The course ends with the study of struggles for survival in a modern world.

Grades:
Grades will be calculated on a point basis. Each assignment, quiz, project, or test is worth a specific
number of points. Your grade is based upon a percentage of those points.
Grading Scale
100-90=A
89-80=B
79-70=C
69-60=D
59-00=No course credit
Discipline:
I follow the student handbook for behavior issues. Below are a few reminders
3rd Tardy to class = detention Phone = 1st time warning, then detention
Repeatedly not Prepared = detention Flagrant disrespect = Sent to office
Disrespectfulness = detention Cheating = Sent to office
Foul language/gestures = detention
Work:
Assignments are due at the beginning of the class unless otherwise specified. LATE work will not be accepted
for full credit. If you are absent please check Google Classroom and the folder for the work you missed,
please do not interrupt class to get your missing work. Any student with an unexcused absence will receive
a 0" for all missed work.

Class Rules:
