Rules:

1. Please pre Register on one of the FB pages, so we have an idea of numbers.

2. Download and print off your own score sheet, rules and route list.
3. The entry fee is $12 per person, complete your registration at Upshot cafe from 8.30 am.
4. Climbers must climb in pairs and both climber must be competing.
5. There are 3 categories Male, Female and Junior (Junior = 16 years & under)
6. The event starts from Upshot Cafe at 9.00am sharp.
7. The event ends with score sheets handed in to the scorer by 6.00 pm at the Valley Inn, score sheets will
not be accepted after this.
8. Score sheets are to be completed as per the sample.
9. The grades on the list of routes are from Climb NZ and these grades will be used during the competition.
10. All routes are at either Britten Crag, Cattle Stop Crag or Lyttelton Rock.
11. Competitors must climb a minimum of 3 climbs at each crag, which will count towards their score, the
remaining routes can be from any of these three crags.
12. Climbers can choose to Lead, Red Point or Top rope, routes only qualify if they are climbed clean (i.e. without
sitting on the rope).
13. Lead means - the climber must place all equipment on lead,
14. Red point means - the climber may have one piece or all pieces preplaced
15. Top rope means top rope.
16. A weighting factor will be applied based on the style of ascent.
17. It is recommended that all climbers wear a helmet (even if it spoils your ensemble)
18. Feel free to dress for the occasion; other than public ridicule by your peers or possibly heat stroke you never
know what a leopard skin onesie will get you. Have fun, go climbing, be safe.
