Services EMBASSY OF THE REPUBLIC OF THE PHILIPPINES DAI SU QUAN CONG HOA PHILIPPIN HANOI 04 May 2017 ADVISORY SUSPENSION OF PROCESSING AND ISSUANCE OF OVERSEAS EMPLOYMENT CERTIFICATES (OECs) FOR DIRECT-HIRES BY THE SECRETARY OF LABOR AND EMPLOYMENT The Philippine Embassy in Hanoi wishes to inform the Filipino community and other interested parties in Vietnam that by virtue of Administrative Order No. 155 signed on 25 April 2017 by Hon. Silvestre Bello Ill, Secretary of Labor and Employment, the processing and issuance of Overseas Employment Certificate (OECs) for direct-hire Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) is suspended until further notice. Directly-hired OFWs who are already registered under the Balik-Manggagawa Program of the POEA are not covered by this suspension order. The Embassy advises Filipinos workers who intend to seek employment abroad to always check the POEA website (www.poea.gov.ph) for updates on relevant regulations on OFW deployment, The Embassy also advises all directly-hired OFWs in Vietnam who have pending applications for OEC, as well as those who intend to submit their applications for OEC at the POEA, to postpone any travel to the Philippines until further notice.
