Lyric Software Options

3D Objects
3D Objects provides the ability to create and animate 3D text, and import, modify and animate 3D
objects. 3D text is generated from within Lyric. A 3D object (OBJ, PRJ, 3DO) can be imported and also
saved as Chyron 3DO object. A 3DO object includes the textures and modifications applied in Lyric, and
can be saved and reused. Option for HX200, LX, MicroX.

Advanced Image Effects

Advanced Image Effects provides a library of customizable effects that can be applied to individual 2D
text and graphics elements in a scene. Effects include Assemble, Bulge, Crumble, Curtain, Detonate,
Explosion, Flag, Flipboard, Focus, Globe, Leaf, Matrix, PageRoll, PageTurn, Ripple, Slide, Venetian,
Wipe and Zoom. Option for HX200, LX, MicroX.

Advanced Text Effects/Animate Elements

Advanced Text Effects provides prescripted, customizable animations of individual 2D text characters.
Effects include Horizontal/Vertical Blur, Drop Down, Push Up, Slide Left/Right and Kern Left/Right.
Animate Elements enables the animation of individual 2D text elements. Elements can be moved,
rotated and scaled. Option for HX200, LX, MicroX.

Audio Mixer
The Audio Mixer provides 8 internal channels, capable of mixing any of 24 sources (16 playback, 8 EE).
The 8 EE sources can be any combination of the two discrete AES input pairs, or up to 8 channels of
embedded audio from the SDI input signal. The 8 audio mixes can be routed to any of the outputs - 4
AES output pairs, unbalanced analog output, or embedded into the SDI output signal(s). The Audio Mixer
is included with any Clip Player option. Option for HX200, HyperX.

Clip Control Panel

The Clip Control Panel provides a control interface for audio and video clips from a variety of sources.
On systems without an internal clip player or clip player option, the Clip Control Panel can control audio
clips (WAV files). The Clip Control Panel is included any clip player option. Option for HX200, LX,
MicroX.

DB Link
DB Link provides the ability update text and graphics from ODBC-registered databases such as Access,
Excel spread sheets, CSV files, etc. for display in Lyric. Data and graphics update is easily performed
without rereading the message. Option for HX200, LX, MicroX.

Intelligent Interface
Intelligent Interface, Chyrons proprietary control protocol, provides the ability to control a Chyron
graphics system via serial data link. Serial data commands can be sent through either or both of two
serial port links, and/or via Telnet. Intelligent Interface can create and display new messages with
updated text and graphics, based on existing templates. Various effects can also be executed. Intelligent
Interface commands perform a wide range of Lyric functions, including read, execute, set font attributes,
etc. Many non-Chyron applications, including newsroom automation systems, have been written to
support Intelligent Interface protocol. Engineers in the television broadcast industry are familiar with the
command set and its functionality. Option for HX200, LX, MicroX.

Macros

The Macros interface enables the creation of VBScript macros to simplify and automate repetitive tasks
in Lyric. Such tasks include reading messages, keystrokes, menu selections, etc. They can be triggered
as needed, and/or a macro can be set to automatically execute at the time when the macro file is read.
Option for HX200, LX, MicroX.

Movie Objects
Movie Objects provides the ability to import and execute movie files up to 30 seconds in length within
Lyric animations. Movie objects can be rotated, scaled to full screen and animated through 3D space.
Option for HX200, LX, MicroX.
