Release details
In the following change descriptions, a revision category letter is placed to the left of the description. Refer to the
Appendix at the end of this document for additional details.
The 369 now provides a high-speed data logger to capture analog signals during motor starting conditions. A
total of six individual logs (1 baseline and rolling buffer of last 5 starts), each 30 seconds long are available to
record key analog quantities at a sampling rate of 200 milliseconds. The Motor Start Data Logger requires no
settings to be entered by the user.
The Motor Start Data Logger is only available for 369 relays ordered with the Enhanced Diagnostics (-E) option.

Overview 369 revision 3.10 release notes
To comply with NERC CIP security reporting requirements and to provide traceability, the 369 maintains a
history of the last changes made to the 369 configuration, including modifications to settings and firmware
upgrades. A summary history of the last ten sessions is maintained and a list the last 100 specific setting
changes are recorded and stored in non-volatile memory.
Security Setting Reports include the following information:
The Setting Security Audit Trail is only available for 369 relays ordered with the Enhanced Diagnostics (-E)
option.
E
Enhanced 369 Event Recorder
The number of events stored in the 369 Event Recorder has been doubled with the addition of a 16 cycle
ocsillography capture.
With the increase in the 369 Event Recording and the Oscillography the 369 delivers the capabilities to capture
and store all relevant data that is required for analyzing the system after a trip has occurred. This provides
efficient and accurate information for troubleshooting persistent problems. Each event is time and date
stamped and also includes the nature of the trip.
The Enhanced Event Recorder is only available for 369 relays ordered with the Enhanced Diagnostics (-E) option.
E
DeviceNet: User-Defined Poll Input Data and COS functionality
New flexibility and functionality have been added to the 369 in the DeviceNet Poll Data Group.
With user defined polling option the user is be able to define the data size and choice of parameters using Modbus
User Memory Map. Change of State (COS) functionality is added with this release. Motor and input output status would
be available in COS function.
This functionality applies for the 369 relays with D (DeviceNet) interface option.
N
Enhanced 369 Faceplate
The enhanced 369 faceplate contains an improved LCD with 40 readily visible characters. LED indication has-been
improved to provide clearer indication of the status of the 369 outputs and protected motor.
The enhanced faceplate is included when the Enhanced Diagnostics (E) option is ordered
N
Profibus Loss-of-Communication Tripping
New settings and functionality have been added to allow the 369 to issue a motor trip in the event of loss of
communications with the Profibus Master. Each output relay in the 369 can be configured to operate Failsafe or Non-
Failsafe after a user-defined delay upon detecting a loss of Profibus communications.
This functionality applies for 369 relays ordered with either the P (Profibus DP) or P1 (Profibus DPV1) Interface
options.
N
Undervoltage Auto-restart
This new element allows the 369 to automatically restart a motor that has tripped due to a loss of AC supply.
This is an additional element to the 369, and in no way alters the functionality of the existing 369 Auto-restart
element.
This element is only available for 369 relays ordered with either the M or B option.

E
Enhanced Physical Ethernet Connection
The Ethernet option (Interface Option E) has been improved by incorporating an RJ45 Ethernet connector into the 369.
This eliminates the need for an external DB9 to RJ45 adapter when using Ethernet communications.
N
Trip Contact Seal-In
The 369 Trip contact can be configured to remain sealed-in by the breaker status to protect the internal relay contacts
in the case of a failed breaker. If breaker status seal-in is selected, the trip contact will not open until a change of state
is detected by the breaker status input, even if the initial fault condition is cleared.
N
Motor Settings Auto-configurator
The Motor Settings Auto-configurator provides a simplified and streamlined creation of 369 relay setting files by
allowing the user to simply input motor nameplate data and general power system data to create
recommended settings. By incorporating the Auto-configurator, this eliminates the need cumbersome and
lengthy setting file parameters. All motor and system data is entered in six easy steps through the se-up
screens. The final settings can be reviewed and overridden by the user to customize the setting file to suit a
specific protection philosophy.
The Motor Settings Auto-configurator can also produce a summary setting report, in PDF format, outlining
settings generated as well as any cautionary notices.
N
Motor Health Report
The Motor Health Report included with 369 Setup provides a detailed history of the operation and performance
of the associated motor. By providing critical information as listed in the Enhanced Motor Learned Data and the
Motor Start Data Logger, the characteristics of the motor are learned and monitored and provide the key
information required for troubleshooting persistent problems and facilitate preventative maintenance. Key
motor performance parameters are obtained from the 369 relay, including trip causes, motor learned data
parameters and motor start data logs and presented in a PDF report.
The Motor Health Report is only available for 369 relays ordered with the Enhanced Diagnostics (-E) option.
E
Enhanced 369 Event Recorder
The enhanced 369 Event Recorder has doubled and is supported in the latest version of EnerVista 369 Setup.
The Enhanced Event Recorder is only available for 369 relays ordered with the Enhanced Diagnostics (-E) option
The Modbus communication is improved to increase the polling speed in daisy chain network. While polling the
data from 369 connected in daisy chain, prior to this release there were instances of timeout errors for polling
time (dead time) less than 40ms at 19.2 kbps. Now the polling time (dead time) is improved to 2 ms from 40 ms
with no timeout errors even at 19200 baud rate.

Change categories
This document uses the following categories to classify the changes.
Table 1: Revision categories
N New feature A separate feature added to the relay. Changes to existing features even
if they significantly expand the functionality are not in this category
G Change A neutral change that does not bring any new value and is not correcting
any known problem
D Changed, incomplete or false Changes to, or problems with text messages, LEDs and user pushbuttons
faceplate indications
R Changed, incomplete or false relay Changes to, or problems with relay records (oscillography, demand, fault
records reports, etc.)
C Protocols and communications Changes to, or problems with protocols or communication features
P Protection out of specification Protection operates correctly but does not meet published specifications
(example: delayed trip)
The revision category letter is placed to the left of the change description.
