COURSE SYLLABUS

Course Name Assessment of student Learning 2 (Educ. 8)


Course Credits 3 units
Course Description This course focuses on the development and utilization of alternative forms of assessment in
measuring authentic learning. Emphasis is given to ways in assessing process and product-oriented
targets as well as effective learning. Students will experience how to develop rubrics for
performance-based and portfolio assessment.

Course Objectives At the end of the course, you will be able to:
a. analyze the fundamental concepts and characteristics of 21st century assessment.
b. apply the principles in constructing and interpreting performance-based assessment.
c. developing instruments for assessing affective learning.
d. develop a portfolio as an assessment tool.
e. demonstrate skills in interpreting test results and reporting grades.

Mandate, vision, mission, goals and objectives


Mandate:
The Iloilo State College of Fisheries provides professional, vocational, technological, and advance studies in fisheries, agriculture, maritime
transportation, education, entrepreneurship and science and technology, and promote research, extension and production in these areas.

Objectives:
a) Produce quality graduates who will contribute to the advancement of their chosen field;

Goals of the College of Education:
To develop competent teachers who are imbued with positive values and rich ideals of Filipino life and culture and are responsive to a sound
educational technology that could help hasten the social, economic, and ecological development of the nation especially Western Visayas.

Objectives of the College of Education:


1. Prepare and train future high school teachers to mold the students to be men and women of integrity, intellectual power, physical strength and
spiritual influence.
2. Translate learning capabilities into distinctive knowledge and information by actively responding and adopting science and technology in the
dissemination and actualization of relevant instructional techniques.
