ubber Board in association with Kerala State Industrial
Development Corporation (KSIDC) is organising a two-day National
Conference on Rubber Products Manufacturing at Rubber
Research Institute of India (RRII) on 28 and 29 July 2017. RRII, the R&D
wing of Rubber Board conducts research on all aspects of natural rubber
production, processing and product manufacturing.There are focused
projects on developing energy efficient processes for filler incorporation,
development of cost effective fillers, new devulcanisation process etc.
taken in collaboration with industries and the academia. The NABL
accredited laboratory of RRII supports rubber industry by offering testing
as per national and international standards and development of rubber
products.
KSIDC, an agency under Government of Kerala promotes industry in the
state by facilitating and financing large and medium scale industries and
catalyses development of physical and social infrastructure required for
industrial growth in the state.
NATIONAL RUBBER CONFERENCE
The theme of the conference is Rubber Products Manufacturing:
Synergising Competencies. The conference is scheduled on 28 and 29
July 2017 at the Rubber Research Institute of India, Kottayam. The
conference offers updates on new developments in processing, product
innovations, chemicals etc. Opportunities and issues of new entrepreneurs
in rubber industry will be debated in the panel discussions. The
experiences of successful rubber products manufacturers will be shared at
the conference which will also discuss the impact of GST and ASEAN
Agreement on rubber industry.
INAUGURAL SESSION
Sri. Alok Vardhan Chathurvedi IAS, Additional Secretary, Department of
Commerce, Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Govt. of India has kindly
consented to preside over the inaugural session and Smt. Nalini Netto IAS,
Chief Secretary, Govt. of Kerala has kindly agreed to inaugurate the conference
on 28 July 2017. Sri. Teeka Ram Meena IAS, Agricultural Production
Commissioner
KEY SPEAKERS and Principal Secretary, Govt. of Kerala, Dr. M. Beena IAS,
Managing Director, KSIDC and senior officials of industry departments of
Tripura, Assam, Arunachal Pradesh and Odisha will address the delegates
during various sessions.

All industry players and stakeholders in the rubber sector such as tyre and
non tyre product manufacturers, latex processors, raw material suppliers and
consumers of various rubber products will benefit from the conference. Public
sector undertakings including the defence sector, ISRO, DRDO, HAL, BHEL,
