I have decided to add my Frame of Reference as evidence towards the TRB
Standard 1. This is because my Frame of Reference illustrates my core values as both an educator and a human being with a unique life and teaching experiences operating within different cultural expectations.
Due to different upbringings influenced by the intertwining of cultural, societal and
other key factors every individual on this planet has a unique life experience. Students bring these different experiences to the classroom. It is therefore my role as an educator is to help guide students to achieve their full potential while also being deferential and compassionate in regard to the different life experiences that students bring to the classroom. This is achieved through the non-negotiable sense of moral duty that compels me to strive to provide the best educational experience possible for my students.
I sincerely believe that my Frame of Reference is compelling evidence that I have
consistently cared about my students and that I bring a great deal of relevant experience to my classroom. It provides my personal history, my beliefs and perspectives toward education and life. It also clearly shows that I have and always will care about my students. This is fundamentally showed in two central ways. Firstly, there has always been a consistent level of professional decorum and genuine care regarding the development of my students. Secondly by my acceptance of the contingent factors that play such a key influence in both the learning and teaching process.
