1. GENERAL

This calculation sheet covers the design of foundation of pilerack PR-03 (F2, F2A) for
Main Process Plant of Bio-Fuel Ethanol Plant in Northern Region Project.

1.1 Applicable Documents and standards

a) S-00-1310-001 : Civil and Structural Design Criteria

b) ASCE 7-05
c) ACI 318-08

1.2 Material

Concrete: fc = 22.5 Mpa (B22.5 equivalent to M300 in TCVN 356-2005)

Reinforcing Steel : fy = 295 Mpa (equivalent to CII in TCVN 356-2005)

1.3 Factor of Safety for Shallow Foundation Stability

Against Sliding: 1.5

Again Overturning: 1.5

2. BORE HOLE LOCATION: BH30

- The section will be referred to Report on Geotechnical Investigation established by

Geotechnical Research Center).
- The location will be referred to the key plan in the design drawing.
- For shallow foundation founded on backfill compacted at K=0.9 assumed bearing
capacity is 100 kN/m2.

3. CALCULATION

- Use software STAAD FOUNDATION for the design and analysis of foundation of
PR-03(F2, F2A)

Projection P = t + b + (n + 0.5)d. + 10mm
Where : t = thickness of grout = 25 mm
b = thickness of base plate or frame = 30 mm
n = number of nuts = 1 with fastener head type: 1
d = diameter of bolt = 36 mm
0.5 =allowance for one washer and a small projection beyond the nuts.
Projection P =25+30+1.5*36+10-15mm = 120 mm

PROJECTION CACULATION
Follows design specification
Bolt projection (P) above concrete structural shall be calculated as follows:
Projection P = t + b + (n + 0.5)d. + 10mm
Where : t = thickness of grout = 25 mm
b = thickness of base plate or frame = 30 mm
n = number of nuts = 1 with fastener head type: 1
d = diameter of bolt = 36 mm
0.5 =allowance for one washer and a small projection beyond the nuts.
Projection P =25+30+1.5*36+10-15mm = 120 mm
Embedment length = 680 mm
Total length = 800 mm
