Operating Documentation
All packages should be closely examined at time of delivery. If damage is
apparent, have notation of bad order placed by the delivering driver on
all copies of the freight or express bill. If damage is of a concealed nature,
notify transportation agent as soon as possible to make an inspection report
of damage but in any event not later than 15 days after delivery. A trans-
portation company usually will not pay a claim for concealed damage if an
inspection is not requested within this 15 day period. Complete instructions
regarding claim procedure are found in section S of the Policy & Proce-
dure Bulletins.

If shipment was handled by moving van service - uncrated - call Traffic -

Milwaukee immediately when any damage is found. Do not attempt to call
any local agent. At this time be ready to describe type of damage, type of
equipment, serial numbers and if possible the order number.

The above paragraph is in regard to equipment requiring installation only,

and does not apply to supply items. The F.O.B. point for these items is as
shown in the Price Book.

Upgrade Instructions

1. INTRODUCTION
These Instructions describe the installation of the optional Realtime Doppler Calculation Software for LOGIQ 400
system.

This installation enables the LOGIQ 400 system with the system software version 4.01 y or later (4.02 y or later
for CL console) to use the Realtime Doppler Calculation software.

5. PREREQUISITE
1. The system software must be version 4.01y or later (4.02y or later for CL console).

Note
The Version 4.01 Upgrade kits (2239784 for Japan, 2239786 for Asia, and 2239785 for USA and Eu-
rope) upgrades the console to the system software version 4.01y from the version 3.40By or earlier.
The Version 4.02Upgrade kits (2239820 for Japan, 2239822 for Asia, and 2239821 for USA and Eu-
rope) upgrades the console to the system software version 4.02y from the version 3.41By or earlier.

2. The MR3 Upgrade Kit (2241566) must be installed.

Note
The optional MR3 Upgrade Kit, 2241566, upgrades two board assemblies to the appropriate ones
(DOPC2 Assy, and ASPR3 Assy) for using the Realtime Doppler Calculation software option on the
LOGIQ 400 system.
The software version must be upgraded to 4.01 y prior to the upgrade using the MR3 upgrade kit.

6. PROCEDURE
READ and UNDERSTAND these instructions thoroughly before proceeding with the installation. Perform each step in
sequence and check it off when completed. If a problem occurs after completion, go back through the procedure and
check for implementation errors before contacting your Ultrasound Region Engineer.

Check each step as it is completed.

61 Functional Checkout
1. Plug in the LOGIQ 400 system and power it ON.

2. Make sure that the part number of the OBC Assy is 2195747 or 21957472. The part number of the OBC Assy
currently installed is displayed on the CRT monitor screen during power-up sequence as follows:

Note
The part numbers, 2195747 and 21957472 indicate that the MPUA Assy is installed in the con-
sole. The MPU Assy is upgraded to the MPUA Assy with the OBCA Assy and the ADPT2 Assy
supplied with the OBCA Assy Option (2219181).

3. Make sure that the system software version 4.01 y or later (4.02y or later for the CL console) is indicated on the
CRT monitor screen during the power-up sequence as follows:

4. Make sure that the MR3 is indicated on the CRT monitor screen during the power-up sequence as shown in
ILLUSTRATION 2.

Note
The MR3 is not displayed on the CRT monitor screen for the LOGIQ 400CL console.

5. Press the New Patient key to exit the patient entry mode when the PATIENT ENTRY MENU is displayed on the
CRT monitor screen.

6. Make sure that one or more probes are connected with the console.

7. Press the Top Menu Select key twice, located on the keyboard. Refer to ILLUSTRATION 3.

8. Select the Set Up Menu using the or key of Sub Menu Select keys on the keyboard. The Set Up selec-
tion is displayed in reverse video as shown in ILLUSTRATION 4 on page 4.

9. Press the key to select the Set Up Menu. The Set Up Menu is displayed on the CRT monitor screen as
shown in ILLUSTRATION 5.

10. Type 06 (or 6) and press the Return key to select the Option 6 Board Configuration Display when the Utility
Menu is displayed. The Board Configuration tables will be displayed as shown in ILLUSTRATION 7.

11. Make sure that the versions of the following two board assemblies are as shown in table below:

12. Press and hold the Ctrl key and then press the R key twice to exit the Utility Menu.

13. Perform functional checks to verify that the system is functioning properly. Refer to Functional Checks in Chapter 4
of the LOGIQ 400 Service Manual, 2127661.

62 Activating Software
1. Enter the service software. Refer to LOGIQ 400 Proprietary Manual, 2127662.
The Service Menu will be displayed on the CRT monitor screen as shown in ILLUSTRATION 5.

2. Type 02 (or 2) and press the Return key to select the Option 2 Option Set when the Service Menu is displayed.
The Option Set menu will be displayed as shown in ILLUSTRATION 9.

3. Press and hold the Ctrl key and press F to go to next page.

4. Type 34 and press Return to select the Realtime Doppler Calculation software option. The message 1:En-
able/0:Disable ? will be displayed.

5. Type 1 and press Return to activate the Realtime Doppler Calculation option. The status display of the Realtime
Doppler Calculation will change to Installed.

6. Press and hold the Ctrl key and press R to return to Service Menu.

7. Select Option 09 System Reset and press Return.

8. Type Y and press Return. The system will start the system reset process.

63 System Check-out
1. Press the New Patient key to exit the patient entry mode when the PATIENT ENTRY MENU is displayed on the
CRT monitor screen.

2. Make sure that the one or more probes are connected with console.

3. Press the PD key to select the PWD mode.

4. Press the Top Menu Select key located on the keyboard. Refer to ILLUSTRATION 3 on page 3.

The PWD menu is displayed on the CRT monitor screen.

5. Press the or key of Sub Menu Select keys simultaneously to display page 4 of four measurement menu
pages. Refer to ILLUSTRATION 12.

6. Make sure that the CALC selection is indicated when changing the setting using the or key of Sub
Menu Select keys under the PWD section. Refer to ILLUSTRATION 12.

The CALC selection is displayed only when the optional Realtime Doppler Calculation software is
set to ON.

7. Make sure that the calculation items is displayed on the CRT monitor screen as shown in ILLUSTRATION 13

64 Final Procedures
1. Power the LOGIQ 400 system OFF.

2. Remove four screw caps (covering the screws 3 and 4 ) and unscrew four screws ( 1 4 ). Refer to
ILLUSTRATION 14.

3. Remove the left side cover. Refer to ILLUSTRATION 14.

4. Attach the Option Label, which indicates new version number of system software, onto the Nest Cover. Refer to
ILLUSTRATION 15.

5. Reinstall the left side cover. Refer to ILLUSTRATION 14.

6. Fill out the proper customer information on the Product Locator Card. Refer to ILLUSTRATION 16. Mail the
installation card Product Locator to the address corresponding to your region.

7. Hand the Software Certification Sheet supplied with this kit to the customer and ask the customer to keep it.

8. Properly dispose of excess material.
