A RESOLUTION APPROVING EXECUTIVE ORDER (E.O.) NO.2, SERIES OF 2017, OF THE MAYOR OF THE
MUNICIPALITY OF POLOMOLOK, SOUTH COTABATO IN CONCURRENCE WITH THE GOVERNORS
APPROVAL THEREOF

Whereas, Under consideration of this august Body is Executive Order (E.O.) No.2, Series of 2017,
of the Mayor of the Municipality of Polomolok entitled, Creating The Technical Working Group (TWG) for
the Proposed Cityhood of the Municipality of Polomolok;

Whereas, the said team is tasked to study and facilitate the bid for cityhood of Polomolok so that
it may make use of the benefits thereof at the soonest possible time;

Whereas, Section 450 of Repubic Act (R.A.) No. 7160, otherwise known as the Local Government
Code of 1991, as amended by Republic Act No. 9009, provides that a municipality or a cluster of barangays
who met the requisites laid down therein may be converted into a component city.

Whereas, Section 7, Chapter 2, Book 1 of R.A. 7160, otherwise known as the Local Government
Code of 1991, provides that the creation of a TWG for the said purpose is necessary for the conversion of
a local government unit from one level to another which shall be based on verifiable indicators of viability
and projected capacity to provide services.

Whereas, Section 444(b)(2)(iii) of the Local Government Code provides that the local chief
executive may issue such executive orders as may be proper and necessary for the execution of laws and
ordinances.

Whereas, The august Body finds the subject E.O. within the powers vested upon the local chief
executive; and

Whereas, Reviewing the said E.O., the governor finds the same in order, thus, recommends its
approval;

Wherefore, Premises considered and upon motion of the Honorable Sheela Mar D. Baclaan and
on unanimous sponsorship, the Body

Resolved, As it is hereby resolved to approve Executive Order No.2, Series of 2017, of the Mayor
of the Municipality of Polomolok, South Cotabato in concurrence with the governors approval thereof.
