Borges et al (2015) in his article Application of Lean Manufacturing Tools in the Food
and Beverage Industries presents the application of some LM tools, applying some Lean
Manufacturing tools like the 5S methodology and SMED (Single-Minute Exchange of
Die) in two Portuguese companies Involved in the food and beverage industries. After its
implementation, significant gains were obtained in the two companies, the culture of
continuous improvement was installed and the flexibility of production was increased, as
well as the reduction of inventories and lead times.
Miroslava et. al(2016), in his article Standardization - one of the tools of continuous
improvement, demonstrates that the standardization is one of the most profitable tools to
obtain a constant improvement, due to the fact that form of a rapid way to the operatives,
reduces injuries and tensions, solves the problems easily, besides the fact that it has turned
to the majority of companies e competitive along the history, since they have managed
without many difficulty to do flexes to his workers, and to reduce the costs of production,
enlarging his lot of agreement to the demand.
