Asian Hospital and Medical Center is a tertiary care hospital in the Southern Luzon corridor
of Metropolitan Manila. Officially inaugurated and opened to the public on May 11, 2002. It is
the first hospital in the Philippines that was designed with a hotel-like ambience that
promotes healing and provides comfort for patients and their families and friends.
Asian Hospital and Medical Center is strategically located in the Filinvest City in Alabang,
Muntinlupa Cityonly 10 kilometers from the countrys central business district Makati City,
a mere 20-minute drive from the International and Domestic airports, and less than a
kilometer from the South Luzon Expressway (SLEX).
With 289-bed capacity, the hospital has a total floor area of 44,147 square meters and stands
on a 17,250-square meter campus which houses the Main Hospital and the Medical Office
Building (MOB). It has 1,041 employees and 1,000 medical staff; all trained to provide high
quality and compassionate patient care. Over 500 doctors hold their clinics at the MOB,
which has 145 clinics and offices.
In December 2011, Asian Hospital and Medical Center became the largest single hospital
investment of Metro Pacific Investments Corporation (MPIC); the local unit of the First
Pacific Group headed by Manuel V. Pangilinan, currently operating eight hospitals across the
archipelago, the MPIC Hospital Group.

3. Chrys One Center


This Center provides Medical-Hematology-Pediatric oncology services (including an
Oncology Drug Compounding Unit, Oncology Infusion Clinic and Ambulatory Blood
Transfusion-Medical Infusion Clinic) the area of cancer dedicated to treating adult and
pediatric patients, by using medications taken by mouth, injection, or infusion, including
internal medicine and pediatric medicine interventions. Medical and paediatrics oncologists
work in a multidisciplinary setting with radiologists, pathologists, surgeons and radio-
oncologists to tailor the best treatment plan possible for each cancer patient.
A. Pediatric Oncology Clinic
The Clinic cares for children, adolescents, and young adults with cancer. Its mission is to
treat and cure children with cancer diseases by understanding their special needs and
providing them with comprehensive, compassionate family-centered, state-of-the-art clinical
care and education through a multi-disciplinary approach from diagnosis through recovery.
B. Medical-Hematology Oncology Clinic

C. Oncology Drug Compounding Unit
The Oncology Drug Compounding Unit provides a dedicated, on-site pharmacy ensuring that
patients are receiving only the safest, most comprehensive care during chemotherapy.
D. Oncology Infusion Units
This Unit offers routine outpatient services for patients seeking treatment for cancer
including anti-cancer drug treatment (cytotoxic, hormonal, biological; SC, IM, IV bolus and
infusion), bisphosphonates for metastatic bone disease, G-CSF for cancer-related
neutropenia, and erythropoietin for cancer-related anemia. Intrathecal anti-cancer drug
administration is done at the Oncology Procedure Room at the 4th floor Tower 2,
complimenting the Infusion Unit, in collaboration with neurologists and anaesthesiologists
as needed.
E. Ambulatory Blood Transfusion & Systemic Treatment Unit
The Chrys 1 Facility will also cater to non-cancer patients with rheumatoid arthritis,
metabolic and ophthalmic conditions, and other diagnoses in terms of IV medication
therapy.
For both cancer and non-cancer patients, this Unit will offer services such as ambulatory
blood transfusion, IV fluid hydration, antibiotic therapy, parenteral nutrition, refill and
maintenance of port pumps, venous access device irrigation, and implanted venous access
device declotting..
F. Chrys Specialty Pharmacy
The Chrys Specialty Pharmacy is an outpatient pharmacy that serves the special needs of
patients with complex disease conditions like cancer and other chronic ailments. It provides
a wide range of High Quality anticancer drugs and prescription drugs related to cancer
treatment at very reasonable prices.
This is in line with Asian Hospitals goal of making special medications more accessible
which can result in better compliance and more successful treatment outcomes.
Soon , the Chrys Specialty Pharmacy will be offering integrated coordination of coverage for
PCSO patients and other patient assistance programs. This will ease the financial burden of
cancer treatment cost for cancer patients and their families.

4. Chrys Two Center


Dedicated to providing comprehensive care of the highest quality in cancer management,
Chrys 2 Center provides Integrative, Supportive and Palliative Care Services. Members of

The Pain & Palliative Care Unit will incorporate the principles of pain control and palliative
care into the treatment of patients from the time of diagnosis and not only in the setting of
advanced or terminal disease.
Pain Clinic
The Pain Clinic will involve pain specialists along side access to a multidisciplinary team
including anesthesiologists, rehabilitation medicine physicians, palliative care physicians,
psychologists, PI/OT, and advance practice nurses. Based on a careful assessment by a
physician, a treatment approach is tailored to the patients diagnosis and targeted to the
patients specific physical and psychosocial condition. The goals are to reduce pain, improve
functioning and enhance the quality of life.
Palliative Care Clinic
Palliative care is a treatment model focused on the care of patients with all types of serious
illnesses, including cancer; AIDS; advanced diseases of the heart, lungs, kidney and liver;
and neurodegenerative diseases, such as dementia. Palliative care includes a broad range of

About POCC
Brief History

The Philippine Oncology Center Corporation (POCC) was


incorporated on October 22, 2008. On November 10, 2008, POCC took
ownership of Marian Radiation Oncology Center. The Center, resting at
the basement of Marian Medical Arts Building, in Dahlia Avenue, West
Fairview Park, Quezon City, has a total floor area of 386 square meters
and has facilities for Computed Tomography Scan (CT Scan) machine
dedicated for treatment planning purpose, examination and recovery
rooms, surgical procedure room, chemotherapy room and Medical
Linear Accelerator (Linac) treatment room, doctors rooms, and medical
physicists room for treatment planning. POCC did refurbishing of
machines, upgrading of systems and renovation of facilities.
POCC begun clinical operations in providing quality cancer treatment
services to its patients through its Grand Opening day on February 21,
2009 which was attended by no less than Philippine Vice-President
Kabayan Noli De Castro and Department of Health Secretary
Francisco Duque.

A year after, POCC forged a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with


Jose R. Reyes Memorial Medical Center (JRRMMC) in Sta. Cruz, Manila
for the supply, operation and maintenance of radiotherapy machines and
equipment such as dedicated Computed Tomography Scan machine for
simulation, computerized treatment planning system, medical linear
accelerator, and high dose-rate (HDR) brachytherapy for its Department
of Radiotherapy, otherwise known as JRRMMC-POCC Cancer Institute.
The clinical operation started on January 1, 2011 with 1 linear
accelerator, 1 HDR brachytherapy afterloader, and 1 CT Scan machine.

On September 1, 2014, POCC took over administration, management


and operation of the Department of Radiotherapy of St Frances Cabrini
Medical Center Cancer Institute in Sto. Tomas, Batangas, in southern
Luzon, Philippines. The Radiotherapy Department now has 2 linear
accelerators, one of which has the latest treatment modality VMAT, plus
also 1 HDR brachytherapy afterloader, and 1 CT Scan machine.

Today, POCC is starting another radio-oncology treatment center and


ambulatory surgical clinic at Bethany Hospital Inc. in San Fernando City,
La Union, located in northern Luzon.

On December 8, 2015, POCC signed MOA with Medical Center


Manila (or more popularly known as ManilaMed) for a new state-of-the-
art radio-oncology treatment center at along General Luna St., Ermita,
Manila, which will be clinical operations in 4th quarter 2016.

POCC boasts as the first and only stand-alone integrated radiation


therapy center using cutting-edge technology with a pool of respectable
board-certified radiation oncologists using multi-disciplinary team
approach in cancer management
