"Is the Christian Life Supposed to Be Boring?

There are many misconceptions about the Christian life, and
one is that it is boring. The truth is the Christian life is where
we find true joy and lasting peace, hope and contentment.
These things, like all good and perfect things, come from God
(James 1:17). The difficulty is that, if you are not a believer in
Christ, you truly do not know what you are missing.
This is not to say that the Christian life is easy. One writer
describes growing in the Christian faith as being on a never-
ending downward escalator. In order to grow we have to turn
around and sprint up the escalator putting up with perturbed
looks from everyone else who is gradually moving
downward. Christ never deluded anyone into thinking it
would be easy to follow Him (see Matthew 10:34-39). It is not
easy, but the hardships help prevent boredom.

Some people assume that being a Christian is boring because
theyve heard that Christians have to give up all the fun
things in life. Its true that Christians give up some things, but
its not the fun. Christians give up their sin, their self-

and their ignorance of God.
In return, they receive righteousness, peace and joy in the

There is much confusion about baptism in the various Christian Churches and
Denominations. However, this is not a result of the Bible presenting a Saturday:

In the Bible, only believers who had placed their faith in Christ were baptized Sunday:
as a public testimony of their faith and identification with Him (Acts 2:38 and 9:00AM Morning Prayer
Romans 6:3-4). Water baptism by immersion is a step of obedience after faith 9:30AM Bible Study
in Christ. It is a proclamation of faith in Christ, a statement of submission to 10:30AM Morning Service
Christ, and identification with Christs death, burial, and resurrection.

With this in view, infant baptism is NOT a Biblical practice. An infant cannot
place his or her faith in Christ. An infant cannot make a conscious decision to
obey Christ. An infant cannot understand what water baptism symbolizes. The
Bible does not record any infants being baptized, anywhere.

Many Christians who practice infant baptism do so because they understand

infant baptism as the new covenant equivalent of circumcision. In this view,
just as circumcision joined a Hebrew to the Abrahamic and Mosaic covenants,
so baptism joined a person to the New Covenant of salvation through Jesus
Christ. This view is unbiblical.

The New Testament nowhere describes baptism as the New Covenant

replacement for Old Covenant circumcision. The New Testament nowhere
describes baptism as a sign of the New Covenant. It is faith in Jesus Christ
that enables a person to enjoy the blessings of the New Covenant

Baptism does not save a person. It does not matter if you were baptized by
immersion, pouring, or sprinkling, if you have not first trusted in Christ for
salvation, baptism, no matter the method, is meaningless and useless.

glorify God. When we choose to go our own way, living life

But God demonstrates His own love for us in this: While we
were still sinners, Christ died for us. Romans 5:8
If you would like to have Jesus as Lord of your life, you
can pray a prayer something like this:
Lord, I confess that I have sinned against You and ask You
to forgive me. Im sorry that my sin has hurt You and other
people in my life. I acknowledge that I could never earn
salvation by my good works, but I come to You and Trust in
what Jesus did for me on the Cross. I believe that You Love
me and that Jesus died and rose again so that I can be
Forgiven and come to know You. I ask You to come into my
heart and be Lord of my life. I trust You with everything,
and I thank You for Loving me so much that I can know You
here on earth and spend the rest of eternity with You in
heaven. In Jesus name, Amen.
Fake News or
Information.
What are We to Do?
Weve used this phrase so many times in the past two months that its
almost lost meaning, partly because it can mean so many different
things. Depending on who you talk to, fake or distorted news may
refer to satirical news, hoaxes, news thats clumsily framed or
outright wrong, propaganda, politically motivated half-truths, and
more.
Whatever definition you pick, fake Information is troubling.
Statements meant to intentionally mislead are a danger, not only to
society, but also the Church! All of which is supposed to rely on
facts, reality and trust.
Fact-checking is key and instrumental in providing accurate
information to people. Fake information continues at an alarming
rate, even in the Church. Christians on Facebook share posts
regularly that are not correct or factual.
Why? Because it fits what we want to believe, and we may even
believe it is true. But in a society that spits out things at an alarming
and deceitful rate, we as Christians need to be cautious about what
we Believe, Embrace, and Share.
I even had a lady tell me that the
reason she liked so-and-so Bible
version was because it had no copy
write. Sounded honest and true to me.
I believe I even shared some of that
information with others, even though I
didnt use that particular version.
Then a writer friend of mine told me it
wasnt true. Whoa! What? He
explained a few things about copy write, and encouraged me to
investigate for myself. I did. And I was wrong.
Did the first lady try to deceive me? No I dont believe so. But the
deceived speak things as truth believing them, deceive others by what
they state as fact..
The stakes are high: Fake information has consequences. We need to
be diligent in fact finding. I was taught in college that we were to use
three or more sources to verify statements, articles, events, etc. I
have been guilty of falling short of that, in social media, and in here
say from others.
Is it that I do not believe others? No, Its that I want others to believe
me. Once we have been found to be spreaders of things that are not
true, events that did not happen, it is difficult to get that credibility
back in good standing.
