Certification Program Overview

Siebel Systems is committed to helping its customers identify and recruit only the most qualified
implementation team members. As part of this commitment, Siebel University offers the Siebel Certified
Professional Program to recognize those members of the IT community who have gained proven
expertise in the implementation practices of Siebel eBusiness Applications.

Support for Certification

Siebel Systems advocates the certification of implementation professionals because certification provides
an impartial measure of a consultant’s knowledge and helps ensure the overall success of a Siebel
eBusiness Applications implementation. Participation in the Siebel Certified Professional Program is open
to all Siebel Alliance Partners, Siebel eBusiness customers, independent consultants, and Siebel
employees. Currently, there are more than 13,000 Siebel Certified Professionals worldwide.

Commitment to Customer Satisfaction

Customer satisfaction depends on the speed, accuracy, and thoroughness with which Siebel eBusiness
Applications are implemented. One of the most important success factors of a Siebel eBusiness
Applications implementation is the engagement of highly trained, knowledgeable professionals. To ensure
its customers’ satisfaction and a successful implementation, Siebel Systems strongly recommends that
customers employ consultants who have passed the demanding requirements of the Siebel Certified
Professional Program.
Siebel University created the Siebel Certified Professional Program to establish the standards and
credentials to guarantee that the implementation professionals have the necessary skills to successfully
install, configure, and administer Siebel eBusiness Applications. By undertaking the Siebel Certified
Professional Program’s comprehensive training and passing its rigorous examinations, the consultants
have demonstrated thorough knowledge of Siebel eBusiness Applications and implementation best
practices.

Certification Requirements
The Siebel Certified Professional Program offers four core technical certifications and one level business
analyst certification. Additionally, each core certification can carry the customer certified designation
which represents field experience as well as a customer recommendation. All Siebel Certifications are
version-specific to major Siebel eBusiness Applications releases. In addition to completing the required
training, individuals must pass a computer-based exam that is specific to the level of certification sought.
To remain current with each new Siebel eBusiness Applications release, consultants must upgrade their
Siebel Certifications by completing the required migration training and passing the exam associated with
the new release.

Siebel Certification Tracks

The Siebel Certification Program offers four distinct certification tracks. You may become certified in one
or more of these tracks. Each track has specific training and exam requirements for certification.

Consultant
Siebel Certified Consultant
A Siebel Certified Consultant possesses a core understanding — derived from both formal course-based
training and hands-on experience — of Siebel eBusiness Applications implementation leading practices.
To achieve the Siebel Certified Consultant status, candidates must attend Siebel University’s three-week
Siebel Core Consultant Course and pass a Siebel Consultant Core Exam (version 7 or 7.7).

Business Analyst
Siebel Certified Business Analyst
Drawing from comprehensive in-course labs and case study material derived from hundreds of Siebel
eBusiness Applications implementations, a Siebel Certified Business Analyst is trained to effectively
evaluate unique customer business requirements and map them to Siebel Business Processes.
Candidates must attend Siebel University’s Fundamentals for Business Analysts (Siebel 7.7) course and
Implementing Business Processes: Guidelines and Case Study for Business Analysts course as well as
pass the Siebel 7.7 Business Analyst Core Exam.

Analytics
Based on the job profiles of people working on Siebel technologies, Siebel Analytics program offers three
role-based certifications:

Siebel Certified Server Architect

This Siebel Certified Server Architect certification is intended for individuals on the implementation team
(usually the Server Architect) whose major role is to define and model the data used for analytics
processing. Candidates must attend Analytics: Application Developer (Siebel 7.7) and pass the Siebel 7.7
Analytics Server Architect Core Exam.

Siebel Certified Data Warehouse Developer

This certification is designed for those on the implementation team who are responsible for extracting,
transforming, and loading data from Siebel applications and other data sources into the Siebel
Relationship Management Warehouse. Candidates must attend Analytics: Data Warehouse Developer
(Siebel 7.7) and pass the Siebel 7.7 Analytics Data Warehouse Developer Core Exam

Siebel Certified Application Developer

The Application Developer certification is designed for those candidates who create, modify, and
administer Analytics Intelligence Dashboards for both standalone and integrated Siebel Analytics
applications. Candidates must attend Analytics: Application Developer for Analytical Applications (Siebel
7.7) and pass the Siebel 7.7 Analytics Application Developer Core Exam.

Integration
Siebel Certified Integration Consultant
The Siebel Certified Integration Consultant certification is designed for those candidates who have
sufficient knowledge to integrate Siebel applications with a variety of other applications and to understand
how different technologies can be used in different integration topologies. Candidates must attend Siebel
University's Integrating Siebel Applications and pass the Siebel 7.7 Integration Consultant Core Exam.

Customer Certification
Each certification is eligible for a Customer Certification. A Siebel Customer Certified Professional
possesses the same core understanding of Siebel business applications and implementation
methodologies as a Siebel Core Certified Professional, but also has received a formal customer
endorsement. To qualify for Siebel Customer Certified Consultant status, the candidate must hold a
current Siebel Certification and have at least six months of project experience with Siebel business
applications.

Registering for an Exam

All Siebel Certification exams are administered through the Pearson VUE™ testing center network. The
Pearson VUE™ Company has over 3,400 testing centers in over 130 countries.
Once you have completed your training and are ready to take a certification exam, you can register for
the exam over the Web at www.pearsonvue.com. You will be required to establish a profile with Pearson
VUE™. You should provide your business email address as part of your profile. Doing so will expedite
verification of your training as Siebel University requires the use of your business email address when
registering for training.

The Siebel Certification team will use your contact information to contact you only if there is an issue with
your certification and to keep you informed about Siebel Certification changes and opportunities. We will
not provide your contact information to anyone outside of the Siebel Certification team.

What to Expect During the Exam

Certification Exam Regulations
When you arrive for a Siebel Certification Exam, you will check in with the testing center staff, and be
shown to a workstation to complete the exam. You will be provided a pencil and blank paper for your use
during the exam. You cannot bring anything with you to the workstation. All phones, pagers, PDAs,
purses, handbags, briefcases, paper, writing instruments, and other personal items must be left in your
vehicle or secured by the testing center staff away from your workstation. You will not be permitted to
take anything away from your workstation either. The pencil and paper provided must be left behind when
you leave the test center.

Type of Exam
All Siebel Certification exams are computer-
based. You will be expected to use a
computer to complete the exam.

Types of Exam Questions

Siebel certification exams employ two basic
item types with some variation. This section
introduces each type of item and variations.
Upon reviewing this section you will be
familiar with the way items are delivered
during the exam.

Single-Choice Item
A single-choice item requires a single selection for an answer. A visual cue that an item is a single-choice
is the round radio button for answer selection.

Multiple-Choice Item
A multiple-choice item requires more than one
selection for an answer. A visual cue that an item
is a multiple choice is the square check boxes for
answer selection. You answer multiple-choice
items by either clicking the appropriate number of
check boxes with your mouse or pressing the
letters on your keyboard associated with your
selections. Clicking Next will save your answer and
move you to the next question. The number of
selections you should make is shown both in the
question and in the lower-left corner of the test
screen. You can return to the question and change
your answer as often as you like prior to ending
your exam.

Questions with Exhibits

Some items require you to examine an exhibit in order to answer the question. Exhibits can be graphical,
text, or a combination of text and graphics. Items may have one or more exhibits that you should review
before answering the question.

Graphic Included in Question

Some items may include a graphic on the
screen with the question. This image will usually
be between the question and the answer options.
You may need to scroll down to see everything
on the screen.

Exhibits
Exhibits that do not fit well on the same screen
as the question will be displayed in a separate
window. If an item includes one or more of these
exhibits, you will see an instruction to “click the
Exhibit button” included on the screen before the
question.

The Exhibit button is located at the bottom of the screen. Clicking the Exhibit button opens a new window
over the top of the question screen. This new window contains the exhibits necessary to answer the
current question.

Exhibit Window Navigation

After clicking the Exhibit button, the Exhibit window
appears over the question window. There are a
few navigation tools available in this window that
you should become familiar with.

Exhibit tabs. If there is more than one exhibit

associated with the question, the Exhibit window
will be tabbed. The tabs across the top allow you to
move between exhibits. If there is only one exhibit,
these tabs will not be displayed.

Close button. The Close button on the right side

of the window will close the Exhibit window and
return you to the question screen. You can reopen
the Exhibit window by clicking the Exhibit button
again.

Tile button. The Tile button will arrange the

Question screen and Exhibit window so that you
can see both simultaneously. Once tiled, you can
click the Untile button to return the Exhibit window
to its full size.

Item Review
On any question screen you are given
the option of selecting the question for
review. Questions marked for review
are flagged and redisplayed during
the review period at the end of the
exam.
To select an item for later review, click
the Select for Review checkbox in the
upper-left corner of the screen.

Upon coming to the end of the exam,

the Item Review screen appears
providing you the opportunity to return
to those items you have previously
selected as well as any other item you
select on this screen. Items that you
skipped are highlighted so you can
select and review the skipped items
as well.

Comments
In addition to the time allowed for
completing the exam, you are given 15
minutes for submitting comments about
any of the items. Comments are optional
and do not affect your exam score. Your
feedback on the items helps the exam
development team improve the quality
of future exams.

You select items for comment the much

the same way you select items for
review. Click the Select for Comment
checkbox.

After completing the item review, the

Comment Review screen appears
providing you the opportunity to return
to those items you have previously
selected as well as any other item you
select on this screen. Items that you
skipped are highlighted so you can
select and review the skipped items as
well. To comment on the selected items,
click the Review Selected button.

What to Expect After the Exam

After you have completed your exam, you will receive a score report. This score report will tell you exactly
how you scored on each section and your overall score for the exam. A score report with a passing score
DOES NOT indicate that you are certified.

The testing center will send your exam results to Siebel. All results are processed once a week. During

prohibited and cause for revocation of the logo license and possible termination of the certification status
with Siebel Systems.

Logos are to be used for business cards only and may not be placed on a Web site, resume, letterhead,
