Activities:
Activity 1: ( Listening) x
1.Pupils listen to the jazz chant and identify the animals.
2.Pupils talk about their own pets .
Activity 2 : (Speaking) x DTL
1. Pupils watch a video on pet dog/cat or other animals CONTENT
2. Pupils brainstorm on animals that can be kept as pets ( Good students)
3.Pupils point to pictures of animals that can be kept as pets. ( weak students)
Activity 3 : Listening and Speaking (group work) (identify and state the different groups)
1.Each group selects a picture of an animal.
2. Pupils draw a bubble map on ways of taking care of the animal. ( Weak group is provided with vocabulary
needed or guided by the teacher) DTL PROCESS
3. Pupils move on to the other groups and observe their work. (One stay two stray)
4. Pupils adapt and adopt ideas from other groups and finetune their bubble map.
5.Pupils practise in group to present their ideas.
6.Group presentation. Other pupils listen and give their suggestions as their peers DTL PRODUCT
present ( their bubble map.) Accept presentations based on the ability of the pupils.
Closure:
Pupils recite the jazz chant and recall ways of caring for pets. Teacher reinforce the focus words.
