Oral Speech

TOPIC: MY FAVORITE HOLIDAY

LEVEL: 7

Time: 5 hours of 40 minutes.

DESCRIPTION:

In this project the students will choose a favorite holiday to make a brief description about why is that
holiday important for them. The students also will describe the day telling to the teacher activities
they do during this day, the date they celebrate the holiday, and the foods they eat in this day.

The teacher provides the students with the first sentences in order to guide the students with the right
information in each line of the paragraph.

Finally, the students will have 3 to 5 minutes oral presentation, to perform their final work illustrating
their special day with images related to the topic.

JUSTIFICATION:

English Language is a commercial Language used nowadays around the world. Every day people
feel the necessity to learn this language to communicate each other, no matter what country you
come from, if you know English Language you will be successful in business, personal enrichment,
job opportunities, and making friendships, among others.

First level students from IPT Abel Tapiero Miranda are beginners in English Language; for that, they
will present a short speech about their favorite holiday. In this short speech they will give personal
information about why is that holiday their favorite and important for them.

General Objective:

Students will use the English Language to talk about personal opinions and feelings related to
a holiday.

Specific Objective:

Students will choose a favorite holiday to talk about the importance of this holiday for them.
Students will use words and phrases in English given during the trimester in order to enhance
their English knowledge.

TOPIC: A WEEKLY DIET PROGRAM

LEVEL: 8

DESCRIPTION:

In this project the students will make a weekly diet program for 7 days. They will use a menu for
breakfast, snacks, lunch, snacks, and dinner (5 meals). They will choose different kind of foods from
the food pyramid, and will make a balance dish for each meal.

Finally, the students will present to the class their diet program using a support material. They will
explain to the teacher what kind of foods and fruits they have chosen for their weekly diet program,
and give a brief conclusion about why a balanced food is important for health.

JUSTIFICATION:

Having a good nutrition is very important for human being. Nowadays we can see how people,
including children and adults are suffering serious problems related with health, and it is due to the
bad nutrition; it means, people are not having a good nutrition because there are factors that
influence in this fact.

However, people need to be aware to the consequences of bad nutrition. The students have an
important role in society; for that, they need to know how important is to have a good nutrition to be
mental and physical healthy.

General Objective:

Identify the different types of food from the food pyramid and understand what a balanced food
is.

Specific Objective:

The students will create a diet plan program using different types of food from the food
pyramid.
Describe the diet plan program using words from the food vocabulary.
