SID-2FY MULTIPLEX SYNCHRONIZER


1. General
1.1 Application
SID-2FY is the ninth generation of synchronizing equipment produced by our company, both for
different frequency of generator paralleling, and different frequency and same frequency of line
paralleling. The device can automatically identify the synchronization nature, different frequency or
same frequency (loop closing). When in different frequency paralleling, the accurate control
mathematical model to ensure precise control of device can not miss to capture the first parallel
chance, and complete the no impact paralleling in zero phase angle. In generator paralleling process,
automatically control the frequency and voltage of generator unit according to the arithmetic of
fuzzy control, to ensure the fastest and most stable way to enter the frequency difference and the
voltage difference setting range, to achieve more rapid paralleling.

1.2 Device frame character

— The device installed independent internal AC channel test unit, users can complete the detection
of AC collection loop without the security apparatus.

non-synchronization closing.

1.3 Device specification


SID-2FY Multiplex Synchronizer used one postfix to denote whether allocate AC test unit
(composed by test board and test power board) or not, the definition of the code is described as
follows:

2. Main function
The main function of SID-2FY as follows:
— Parallel function
— Self-check function
— Over-voltage protection function
— Video output function
— Close time record function
— Event record function
— Closing record wave function
— Communication, print, GPS adjusting time function

2.1 Parallel function


The device has 16 channels, which can be provide 1-16 generators or (bar) line parallel
multiplexing, with automatic, rapid, accurate, reliable parallel function.

2.1.1 Through the judgment of “same frequency threshold” about the set-point, the device can
automatically identify the different frequency, or the same frequency parallel.
2.1.2 In generator paralleling process, automatically control the frequency and voltage of generator
unit according to the arithmetic of fuzzy control, to ensure the fastest and most stable way to enter
the frequency difference and the voltage difference setting range, to achieve more rapid paralleling.
2.1.3 The device use the accurate mathematical model to ensure precise control of device can not
miss to capture the first parallel chance while different frequency parallel (Parallel the system or
line between two splitting systems by generator), and complete the no impact paralleling in zero
phase angle.
2.1.4 When in same frequency of line paralleling (loop closing), if the power angle between two
sides of the parallel point is smaller than the set point, then parallel immediately, otherwise enter to
the wait status, and send the telesignalling signal to the superior dispatch.
2.1.5 If same frequency appears in the process of different frequency paralleling of generator, the
device will automatically send the accelerating control command, to dispel the same frequency
status.
2.1.6 The device can adopt the TV secondary voltage to be phase voltage (57.7V) or line voltage
(100V), and has shift angle function.
2.1.7 The device can ensure that the generator reverse power parallel will not happen.

2.2 Self-check function
The device possesses self-check function, on the one hand, real-time self-test the hardware of the
device, in the event of hardware failure, locking the device immediately, and reporting causes of the
accident for maintenance. On the other hand, the device built-in completely independent AC
channel test unit, which can be generate independent AC voltage, and complete the detection of AC
loop in local without external provision of equipment.

2.3 Over-voltage protection function


When the generator paralleling, it has over-voltage protection function, in the event that voltage
terminal exceeds the over-voltage protection value (which can be set according to user’s
requirements), immediately output continuous reduce voltage signal, and lock accelerate control
loop until voltage of the generator unit returned to normal.

2.4 Video output function


The video units SID-DVI can be collocated according to user’s requirement, it will change the
synchronization information into video signal output through network or RS485 communication,
and sent to the video display device.

2.5 Close time record function


The device will be automatically display the actual operating time of breaker close circuit after
paralleling, and retain the 16 latest measured values, which can be used as the information to judge
whether the breaker condition is stable or not. The measurement of closing time is realized by
testing deflection of breaker auxiliary contact.

2.6 Event record function


The device possesses record function of telesignalling event, self check event, operation event,
control event, wave record event. Users can inquire record information like action time, event name
through “Event Record” on LCD screen.

2.7 Closing record wave function


The device begins to record wave once synchronization startup command is received, each wave
contain 2 second sampling value and 1 minute virtual value, the frequency of virtual value is 10ms
one time. The wave recorded includes 25 cycles during startup, 75 cycles during closing outlet and

other data in the middle. The device storage is up to 12 groups of record data. The contents include
bus voltage, incomer voltage, frequency, angle difference, input, output, record time, record event
name, and set-point information e.g.. The wave recording event index can be looked over in “wave
recording event”, the waveform, record data can be transmitted to background computer through
network communication for analyzing.

2.8 Communication/print/GPS adjust time function


The device possesses powerful and reliable communication function. It has installed two Ethernet
interfaces, three RS485 serial interfaces, which can be used to connect monitor system, printer and
GPS. When using the print function, it can connect with printer directly or connect to SID-401PS
print server deployed by my company, realize multi-device sharing one printer.

3. Paralleling process illumination
After entered the synchronization work status, the device will self-check first, if self-check is not
passed, the device will alarm and lock. After passed the self-check, the device will inspect the input
value, if the input value or TV voltage isn’t satisfy the condition (see the input value inspection
illumination below), the device will alarm and lock.
If the input value is normal, the device will output “Ready” signal, then if the “Start Sync. Work”
signal is valid, the device will output “Start Sync.” output signal, and determine the synchronization
mode, the possible synchronization mode can be single side no-voltage, double sides no-voltage,
same frequency parallel, different frequency parallel; the device will enter the synchronizing
process after the synchronization mode is confirmed.
During the synchronization process, if any abnormal situation occurred (such as in
non-no-voltage closing paralleling, the Busbar or incomer has no voltage and synchronization
overtime, etc.), the device will alarm and lock; when the synchronization closing conditions is
satisfied, device will send closing orders to complete the synchronizing operation; in the generator
synchronizing period, if the frequency difference or the voltage difference exceeds the set point, and
allows to regulate, the device will issue control commands to regulate frequency or voltage, in order
to meet the synchronization conditions quickly; after completing the synchronization operation the
device will enter into the blocking status.
The whole synchronization workflow is shown in figure 3.1:

3.1 Device self-check


During the device self-check phase, the device will check its own work mode, and determine the
validity of parameters; if an error occurs, then prompt appropriate information, issued a “device
blocking” output information, the alarm and lock indicator will light at the same time; the possible
errors in self-check are:
(1) Parameters read and write storage error, the alarm message is “Parameter Error”.
(2) Set-points read and write storage error, the alarm message is “Set-point Error”.
(3) Record wave storage error, the alarm message is “Record Memory Error”.
(4) AD read and write abnormal, the alarm message is “AD Error”.
(5) Real-time clock read and write error, the alarm message is “RTC Error”.
(6) Frequency measurement circuit abnormal, the alarm message is “Freq. Measurement Error.”

(7) TJJ and main control communication interrupt, the alarm message is “TJJ Inserter Error”.
(8) Test inserter and main control communication interrupt, the alarm message is “Test Inserter
Error”.
After the device alarming, detect and replace the inserter is needed, if hardware detection of the
device is completed, it will exit the alarm status.
If the device self-check is passed, then check the input value.

3.2 Input value check


Input value includes binary input and TV second voltage input of Busbar and incomer; If any
abnormity occurred, then prompt the appropriate information, issued the “Device Lock” output
message, the alarm and lock indicators light.
The device will alarm under the 13 kinds of situations when inspecting the input value, the
relevant message is as follows:
(1) “No Sync. Point”: means there has no point selection signal.
(2) “Multi-points”: means there has more than two point selection signals.
(3) “No-voltage Input Error Lock”: means single side and double sides no-voltage input signals are
effective at the same time, the device did not know work in which way.
(4) “Either No-volt. Unselect”: means there has single side no-voltage input signals, but “Either
No-volt. Close” is set to “Exit”, the software forbids the single side no-voltage closing function.

(5) “Both No-volt. Unselect”: means there have double sides no-voltage input signals, but “Both
No-volt. Close” is set to “Exit”, the software forbids the double sides no-voltage closing function.
(6) “Breaker Close Lock”: means before the synchronization operation, the device has been detected
that the auxiliary contact of breaker is closing.
(7) “Urgent Operation Lock”: means the device has detected the urgent stop sync. input signal. Before
the end of synchronization operation, the signals are detected, if the signal is valid, the devices
will made the same deal, the following will not repeat.
(8) “Incomer Low-volt. Lock”: means neither single side no-voltage input signal, nor double sides
no-voltage input signal, the device detected that the incomer voltage is lower than the
low-voltage blocking value.
(9) “Busbar Low-volt. Lock”: means neither single side no-voltage input signal, nor double sides
no-voltage input signal, the device detected that the Busbar voltage is lower than the low-voltage
blocking value.

(10) “Either No-volt. Fail”: single side no-voltage input signal is valid, Busbar voltage or incomer
voltage isn’t satisfied the no-voltage condition appointed by “No-volt. Side Select” (no-voltage
means that the voltage is lower than the no-voltage confirm value, nor-voltage means that the
voltage is higher than the nor-voltage confirm value) when single side no-voltage closing in
set-point setting, for example, if appointed Busbar no-voltage, in fact it’s incomer no-voltage.
(11) “Both No-volt. Fail”: double side no-voltage input signal is valid, Busbar voltage or incomer
voltage isn’t satisfied the two side no-voltage (the voltage is lower than the no-voltage
confirming value) when double side no-voltage closing in set-point setting.
(12) “Busbar Freq. Diff. Overrun Lock”: refers to the absolute value of the variation between the
frequency of Busbar voltage and the rated frequency is bigger than “Max. Variation of Busbar
Freq.” in system set-point.
(13) “Incomer Freq. Diff. Overrun Lock”: refers to the absolute value of the variation between the
frequency of incomer voltage and the rated frequency is bigger than “Max. Variation of Incomer
Freq.” in system set-point.
Any of the above situations occur, the device will alarm; it must be reset before exit the alarm
condition.
If any of the above situations are not present, means that the inspection of input value is passed,
the device will enter “Start Command Inspection” immediately.

3.3 Startup command inspection


The device checks the input signal of “Start Sync. Work”.
If “Start Sync. Work” input signal is not detected (if the system set-point “Device Control Mode”
is set to “Remote Control”, means that it is waiting for the start synchronization command issued by
host computer), and displays the message “Ready”.
If “Start Sync. Work” input signal is detected (or the start sync. command issued by host
computer), the device outputs a valid output signal “Start Sync.”, and enter the “Determine Sync.
Mode”.

3.4 Determine synchronization mode


The possible synchronization modes can be either no-volt. closing, both no-volt. closing, same
frequency parallel, different frequency parallel.
The first two sync. modes are confirmed by the correlative input signal.
If the set-point “Sync. Object Type” is set to “different frequency”, then the automatic identification

of same frequency and different frequency is not needed, the device will enter to the different
frequency parallel directly. If “Sync. Object Type” set to “Same Freq. / Diff. Freq.”, the device will
automatically identify the type of paralleling first, it may take a few seconds; to avoid the frequency
of generator and system are very close (caused by generator automatically tracking the frequency of
electric network), the device would be issued “Acceleration Control” control signal and “Accelerating
Signal” remote telesignalling signal during this period, to destroy this “Fake Same Freq.” state, and
the prompt message is “Same Freq. Detection Accelerate”; at this point if Busbar or incomer voltage
is lower than the setting value of low-voltage protection, the device will alarm and lock, the prompt
message is “Busbar Low-volt. Lock” or “Incomer Low-volt. Lock”; if Busbar or incomer frequency is
overrun, the device will alarm and lock, the prompt message is “Freq. Overrun”.
After entering determine synchronization mode, the inspection of input information is not needed
(except the remote reset and urgent stop synchronization), then change the status of binary input will
not affect the synchronizing process.
The device will enter into the synchronizing process after the device confirmed the synchronization
mode.

3.5 Synchronizing process


The inspection of binary input is also not needed in synchronizing process (except the remote reset
and urgent stop synchronization), then change the status of binary input will not affect the
synchronizing process.
The device will carry out different synchronizing process according to the different synchronization
modes.
3.5.1 Either no-voltage closing
If incomer is no-voltage, the device has done a inspection of the relevant conditions when check the
input value; if the input value does not meet the either no-voltage closing conditions, it will not enter
into the either no-voltage closing synchronization process, therefore, in either no-voltage closing,
once the device enter into the synchronization process, it will issue closing orders immediately.
If Busbar is no-voltage, it also needs to determine whether the incomer is over-voltage. If incomer
isn’t over-voltage, the device will issue closing orders immediately. Otherwise it will prompt “Either
No-volt. Fail”.
3.5.2 Both no-voltage closing
The device has done a inspection of the relevant conditions when check the input value; if the input
value does not meet the both no-voltage closing conditions, it will not enter into the both no-voltage

closing synchronization process, therefore, in both no-voltage closing, once the device enter into the
synchronization process, it will issue closing orders immediately.
3.5.3 Same frequency parallel
In the same frequency parallel process, if the power angle and voltage difference is within the
setting range, the device will issue closing orders immediately.
If the voltage difference or power angle is overrun or the incomer is over-voltage, the device will
wait, the relevant prompt message is “Volt. High” or “Volt. Low” or “Incomer Over-volt.”, if the
power angle is overrun, the device will send telesignalling signal “Power Angle Overrun”, if the
voltage isn’t satisfied the conditions, the device will send telesignalling signal “Volt. High” or “Volt.
Low”.
In the waiting process, if the voltage of Busbar or incomer is lower than the setting low-voltage
protection value, the device will alarm and lock, the relevant prompt message is “Busbar Low-volt.
Lock” or “Incomer Low-volt. Lock”.
In the waiting process, if the frequency of Busbar or incomer is overrun, the device will alarm and
lock, the prompt information is “Freq. Overrun”.
If the system is parallel off when waiting, the device will also alarm and lock, the prompt
information is “Same Freq. Sync. Fail”.
If the waiting time is exceed the allowable sync. time of the device the device will also alarm and
lock, the prompt information is “Sync. Over-time Fail”.
3.5.4 Different frequency parallel
If the frequency difference and voltage difference are within the setting range, the device will
capture the first zero phase angle to carry out no impact parallel.
When the incomer voltage is higher than Busbar voltage (refer to the relative percentage of rated
voltage) and exceeds the allowable range, the device will prompt “Volt. High” and sent telesignalling
signal “Volt. High”; if the allowable voltage regulation is set, the device will send control signal
“Reduce Voltage Control” and telesignalling signal “Reduce Voltage Signal”.
When the incomer voltage is lower than Busbar voltage (refer to the relative percentage of rated
voltage) and exceeds the allowable range, the device will prompt “Volt. Low” and sent telesignalling
signal “Volt. Low”; if the allowable voltage regulation is set, the device will send control signal
“Raise Voltage Control” and telesignalling signal “Raise Voltage Signal”.
When the incomer is over-voltage, the device will prompt “Incomer Over-volt.”, if the allowable
voltage regulation is set, the device will sent control signal “Reduce Voltage Control” and
telesignalling signal “Reduce Voltage Signal” continuously.

When the incomer frequency is higher than Busbar frequency and exceeds the allowable range, the
device will prompt “Freq. High” and sent telesignalling signal “Freq. High”; if the allowable voltage
regulation is set, the device will sent control signal “Decelerate Control” and telesignalling signal
“Decelerate Signal”.
When the incomer frequency is lower than Busbar frequency and exceeds the allowable range, the
device will prompt “Freq. Low” and sent telesignalling signal “Freq. Low”; if the allowable voltage
regulation is set, the device will sent control signal “Accelerate Control” and telesignalling signal
“Accelerate Signal”.
If the frequency of Busbar and incomer is very closed (same frequency conditions), the device will
prompt “Same Freq. Condition” and sent telesignalling signal “Same Freq. Condition”; if the
allowable voltage regulation is set, in order to fast paralleling, the device will send accelerate
command (control signal “Accelerate Control” and telesignalling signal “Accelerate Signal”), to break
the same frequency conditions and achieve the purpose of fast synchronizing.
If the allowable close time of the device is achieved but the closing is failed, the device will alarm
and lock because of sync. overtime, and prompt “Sync. Over-time Fail”.
In the synchronizing process, if the voltage of Busbar or incomer is lower than the setting
low-voltage protection value, the device will alarm and lock, the relevant prompt message is “Busbar
Low-volt. Lock” or “Incomer Low-volt. Lock”.
In the waiting process, if the frequency of Busbar or incomer is overrun, the device will alarm and
lock, the prompt information is “Freq. Diff. Overrun”.
It should be noted that, the device will not send accelerate command when incomer is over-voltage.

3.6 Complete synchronization operation


After issued the closing instructions, the device will detect “Auxiliary Contact of Breaker” signal,
to determine whether the breaker is closed; if the auxiliary contacts is not detected be closed within 1
second, the device will prompt “Breaker Abnormal Lock”; if the auxiliary contacts is closed, the
prompt message is “Close Success”; and store the record data.

4.3 Environment condition


— Work temperature: -20℃~+ 55℃.
— Store condition: In house whose temperature is -30℃~+80℃, the relative humidity not larger
than 80%, surrounding air does not contain acidic, alkaline or other caustic, volatile gas, and
the house is rain and snow prevented; under high-point, if no excitation, no irreversible change,
the device can working normally when temperature restore.
— Relative humidity: The month average of maximal relative humidity of the most humid month
is 90%, and the month average of minimal temperature is 25℃ and no dew appears. The
highest temperature is +40℃, the maximal average humidity does not exceed 50%.

4.4 Anti-interference performance


— Pulse group interference
The device can endure decaying and surging wave whose frequency is 1 MHz and 100 KHz
as stated in GB/T14598.13-1998 (the first half wave voltage magnitude common-mode is 2.5
KV, difference mode is 1 KV) pulse group interference test.
— Fast transient interference
The device can endure fast transient interference test whose inclemency grade is Ⅳ as stated
in the fourth chapter of GB/T14598.10-1996.
— Radiant electromagnetic field interference
The device can endure Radiant electromagnetic field interference test whose inclemency
grade is Ⅲ as stated in the fourth chapter of GB/T14598.9-1995.

The device can endure static discharge test whose inclemency grade is Ⅲ as stated in 4.1 of
GB/T14598.14-1998.
— Surge immunity test
The device can endure Surge immunity test whose inclemency grade is 4 as stated in
GB/T17626.5-1999.

4.5 Insulated performance


— Insulation resistance
Impose 500V open circuit voltage of test instrument on each electric conducting circuit to
ground (namely enclosure or uncharged metal part), AC loop to DC loop, AC current loop to

5. Frame and panel definition
5.1 Trunk configuration
Adopt whole panel form. LCD, signal indicator, synchroscope indicator, operation keyboard,
USB communication interface are collocated on the panel.
It is a 19 inch 4U strengthened trunk, it is designed for resisting strong vibration, strong
interference. Ensure high reliability even on wicked spot. It is no need adding AC or DC
anti-interference module no matter packaged or install separately.
The outline size is shown in figure 5.1.

5.2 Main inserted pieces


The device is composing of supply inserted piece, CPU inserted piece, signal inserted piece,
man-machine interface inserted piece and test inserted piece.

Through this module convert external AC or DC supply to DC supplies that device need to
work. It outputs +5V, ± 12V and +24V. +5V voltage is for digital circuit, ± 12V is for A/D
sampling, and 24V is for driving relay and light coupling circuit of internal DI signal.
— CPU inserted piece
CPU inserted piece is composing of main control CPU, SDRAM, Flash Memory and A/D
sample chip. The main control CPU is high speed RISC MPU, its master frequency reaches
200MHz, support DSP operation dictate integration. It adopts 24 channels high precision
high speed synchronous sampling technique to ensure response speed of device. All
industrial and military IC make the device own high stability and high reliability.
— Signal inserted piece
Signal board can divided into two types: digital input and digital output.
There are two input pieces, and can totally connect to 24 strong electric input points. The
drive voltage is 220V DC, brought in from extern.
Digital input piece 1 can connect to 16 strong electric input points.
Digital input piece 2 can connect to 8 strong electric input points.
There are two digital output pieces, owning 25 independent output nodes.
— Man-machine interface inserted piece
It mainly refers to the fore panel which provides 9 keystrokes, a synchroscope comprised by
36 high brightness LED, 10 signal lamp, a LCD screen of 320*240 size for convenient of

man-machine conversation, and at the same time a net interface for special use of factory test
and software upgrade.
— Test inserted piece
Test inserted piece is composed by test supply board and test system board, providing
voltage signal needed by test and the main function of auto-test device.

5.3 Panel definition and illumination

Panel of the device is composing of USB communication interface, synchroscope display lamps,
signal display lamps, LCD screen and keyboard viewed from left to right. Hereinto LCD screen is
320*240 lattices, can display a lot of information at one time. It provides windows style window,
furthermore real-time telemeter data is display real time.

5.4 Keystroke definition


There are four direction-control keys and “+”, “-”, “enter”, “exit”, “reset” key on the panel.
Upwards key, used to move cursor upwards
Downwards key, used to move cursor downwards
Left key, used to move cursor to left. Press longer than 3s, can achieve switch between
Chinese and English
Right key, used to move curse to right
Plus key, used to modify number, achieve adding 1
Minus key, used to modify number, achieve reducing 1
Enter is used to enter the next stage menu or to confirm operation
Exit is used to return to the last menu or to cancel operation
Reset Long-term (longer than 1.6s) press revert device
Note that: display in reverse of parameter, symbol, number or letter express the present location
of cursor.

5.5 Display lamp illumination


On the left of the front panel of device, there is a synchroscope constituted by 36 high-brightness
LED, the angle difference of two adjacent LED is 10 º. When the incomer frequency is higher than the
Busbar frequency, the LED light will rotate clockwise; otherwise, it will rotate counterclockwise.
On the synchroscope, there is a close indicating light, it will lights when the contacts of the sync.

close relay are connected; the contacts off, the light off, that is the lighting endurance of the
indicating light is the same as the connect time of the close contacts, the value is same to the control

outlet pulse width.


There are two two-color high brightness LED on the horizontal axis of the synchroscope, the left
one is voltage difference indicating light, it will glows red when the incomer voltage is lower than
Busbar voltage and the difference is exceed the set value of “Allowable Voltage Difference”;
otherwise, the indicator will glows green when the incomer voltage is higher than Busbar voltage and
the difference is exceed the set value of “Allowable Voltage Difference”; if the voltage difference is
within the set value, it will not light. The right LED is frequency indicating light, it will glows red
when the incomer frequency is lower than Busbar frequency and the difference is exceed the set value
of “Allowable Voltage Difference”; otherwise, the indicator will glows green when the incomer
frequency is higher than Busbar frequency and the difference is exceed the set value of “Allowable
Voltage Difference”; if the frequency difference is within the set value, it will not light.
Under the synchroscope, there are ten high brightness LED indicators for displaying different
operating conditions of the devices, described in Table 1.

Man-machine page layout is made up of display light,keystroke,LCD. The hardware has been
explained before, please refer to “frame and panel definition” in section 5. And here will be a
presentation about the content and manipulation of every LCD page layout.

6.2 LCD main menu tree frame illumination


The main menu of man-machine page command is tree structure multilevel menu, as shown in
figure 6.3. Under the main menu page, press “up” and “down” button to select item, press
“ENTER” to enter next menu, press “ESC” to return to the previous menu. If next menu is also
optional menu, you can still press “up” and “down” to select item and press “ENTER” to enter the
next menu. Generally, press “up”, “down”, “left”, “right” to adjust cursor, press “+”, “-” to modify
data which can be modified,and the corresponding value is written into the memorizer. If the menu
is optional page,move cursor to appointed item and press “Enter” to put in.

Choose “Run Monitor” in main menu, press “Enter” to enter “Run Monitor” page. There are
three monitor options in the page, as shown in figure 6.5:

This is for monitoring analog value like magnitude,phase angle difference and frequency of 2
AC voltage of main-board and 2 AC voltage of TJJ board. After enter the run monitor main
menu through pressing “Enter”, the user can choose “primary value” and “secondary value” to
examine.
☆ Input Status:
This is for monitoring the open or close status of 32 digital inputs. You can enter this menu
through choosing Digital Input Status and pressing “ENTER”.
☆ Set Point monitor:
This is for monitoring the set point. In Run Monitor page, choose Set Point Monitor and press
“Enter” to put in. Set-point includes two types: System Set-point and Sync. Set-point. System
Set-point provides one set and Sync. Set-point provides sixteen sets (one channel
corresponding one sync. points). Before enter Set Point Monitor, first to choose the type of
Set-point, if you choose Sync. Set-point, you need to elect channel number, “Select channel
number” is sync. point number which need to be monitored,press +/- to change Select channel
number.
Note that: Set Point Monitor is only used for check set point, but not for modifying. If you
want to modify the set point, enter “Set Point” and input the right password.
☆ Close time:
This is used for monitor the breaker actual close time. It can save sixteen lately actual close
time of breaker.
☆ TJJ Board status:
This is used for monitor the soft version and running status of TJJ board.

☆ Test Board status:


This is used for monitor the soft version and running status of Test board.

6.5 Set Point instruction


Choose “Set Point” in main menu, press “Enter”, and input right password (the ex-factory
password is 0000, users can set new password by themselves) to enter “Set Point” page. There are
two setting contents in the page, which is shown in figure 6.6.

☆ Set Point Modify:


This is used for modifying set point. After enter “Set Point Modify”, you should firstly choose
Set-point type. If you choose Sync. Set-point, you need to elect channel number, “Select
channel number” is currently running sync. point number which need to be monitored,press +/-
to change Select channel number,press “Enter” to enter the corresponding page. There are two
types of set points for the device: System Set Point and Sync. Set Point, the menu is shown in
figure 6.7. You can consult Set point table and setting introduction to modify set point. Please
pay attention to the range of value. If the scope is exceeded,the modified value will not be
memorized. Press “Enter” to save the set after modifying.

☆ Set Point Copy:

Set point copy can only be used in sync. control set-point, it’s for copying set point from
“Source Channel number” to “Aim Channel number”. Press +/- to change the number of set
point area. Press “up”, “Down” to move cursor, choose the content which you want to amend.

Press “Enter” to copy set point from “Source Channel number” to “Aim Channel number”. For
example, if you want to copy set point from Channel number 1 to Channel number 2,firstly
set “Source Channel number” to 1,as shown in figure 6.8,and then press “Down” to move
cursor to “Aim Channel number”, set “Aim Channel number” to 2,as shown in figure 6.9. After
pressing “Enter”, the set point will be copied from Channel number 1 to Channel number 2.

6.6 Parameter Set Instruction

This is used for setting 32 channels the anti-trill time and digital input property(normal
open/normal close)of digital Input Value. Press “Up”, “Down” to choose digital input with

property of this route, press +/- to set the time value and convert the digital input property
between normal open and normal close. As shown in figure 6.11. After finish the setting,press

6.8 Manual Print introduction
Choose “Manual Print” in main menu, and press “Enter” can enter the manual print page, as
shown in figure 6.22. Note: Before print you should confirm the communication protocol and the
connection between printer sever and device are right (see the instruction of series communication
parameter setting for detail), and make sure the printer sever is working normally. If the connection
with printer server is wrong or printer server is abnormal, “Printer Server Connect Error” will be
displayed.

This is used for printing different type of events. Select “print event” in “manual print” page

☆ Communication Debug:

This is used for testing communication channel. It can transmit virtual input signal, virtual
measurement signal to background supervisory control software,check the parameters of the
communication link and the background. Communication debug contains two options:
Telesignalling Debug, Telemetering Debug.
Enter “Communication Debug” to choose “Telesignalling Debug”, press “enter” to put in
Telesignalling Debug page, as shown in figure 6.28. There are 128 channels of Telesignalling
signal (event virtual Telesignalling and input real Telesignalling) to dummy transmitted. Press
“+/-” to switch test option “clear/setup”. When it is “clear”, press “Enter” and then it will
transmit “0”. When it is “setup”, press “Enter” and then it will transmit “1”.
Enter “Communication Debug”, choose “Telemetering Debug” and enter Telemetering Debug
page which is shown in figure 6.29,there are 15 channels of telemetering signal which can be
dummy transmitted. Press “+/-” to manual set telemetering value, press “Enter” to transmit
telemetering data to background.

7.1 Test system board (JK1) terminals instruction
Test system board is used for the internal test of the device, no external terminals. Device without
automatic test function don’t has this inserter.

7.2 Test supply board (JK2) terminals instruction


Test supply board is used for providing power supply to the test system board. Terminals on the
inserter is the voltage output terminal, used to monitor the voltage produced by test unit when
testing, no wiring is needed in normal working. Device without automatic test function don’t has
this inserter.

8. Debug and dispose of abnormity
The device need to complete the following inspections, if OK, namely the device going well.
☆ Procedure and version checking
“Other Function” includes product information which gives device version, CRC correcting code
and etc. If the information content is not correspond with order sheet or following document, please
contact consumer service branch for updating.
☆ Switch input checking
If the input of switch state is incorrect, please check the exterior connection; if connection is Ok
and problem still exist, please change the input board; if the above methods ineffectively, please
change the CPU board.
☆ Output circuit checking
The record menu includes fault record. If the fault record prompts problem in the output circuit,
please check output inserter according to record.
☆ Analog value input checking
Enter “Parameter setting” interface to check if AC parameter setting is correct. Enter “Run
monitor” interface to check if the measured value of primary side and secondary side is correct.
Note, in “Parameter Set”, secondary rated value is the primary rated values of device TV/TA ratio.
☆ Whole group test

If all checking above are correct, you can renew device set-point; observe the device action to
confirm validity of set point.
☆ Device fault alarm
If the device hardware went wrong,LCD shows the fault information and send alarm, then lock
the output circuit of protection. If the device lost power, it will send lose power alarm signal.
☆ GPS time calibrating
The device receive information as year, month, date, hour, minute and second by communicate
with main automatization transformer substation. Moreover, the device collocate a GPS time
calibrating communication interface and a second pulse input interface, which can connect to GPS
directly or connect to second pulse output in substation, time calibrating precision is less than 1 ms.
☆ Net communication
The device can communicate with microcomputer monitor or protection manager, the
communicate interface can be RS-485 or Ethernet.
☆ Dispose of abnormity

9. Commissioning instructions and notices
☆ Check whether the device model, version and electric parameter are correspond with ordering
contract or not;
☆ Check strictly before commissioning, confirm there is no wrong in device or external circuit;
☆ Confirm that set-point and parameter are correct;
☆ Check boards connection, cables connection and terminals connection are reliable;.
☆ Check the polarity of DC supply correct;
☆ Check the display of AC values and the net communication normal.

10. Storage and maintain


☆ Product storage temperature range: -25℃~+70℃, relative humidity less than 80%, the room
can defend rain and snow and atmosphere all round not include components as acidity,
alkalescency, causticity or explosiveness; Device will not be permanent damaged when
energized under extreme condition. If temperature back to normal, device will work well.
☆ Device is only warranty in one year if you transport, install, storage and use absolutely abide
the instruction.

This is used for setting input signal attribute and anti-disturb time, the default value: open,
10 ms.

This is used for setting AC current and voltage transformer ratios, accuracy calibration.

This is used for setting the pulse width of control outlet, the default value is 100ms.
☆ Communication parameter
This is used for setting the parameter of Ethernet interface communication and RS485
series communication.
RS 485 series 1,RS 485 series 2 and RS 485 series 3 are used for background supervisory
communication, printer, GPS communication. Users can choose communication protocol,
baud rate and communication address to realize the function of each interface. When select
printer communication, the baud rate is 9600 bps, the check way is no check. The baud rate
and check way can be selected according to the option setting in other functions.
Background supervisory communication protocol has IEC 60870-5-103 and Modbus for
the users to choose; printer communication protocol has EPSON ESC/PSID-401PS for the
users to choose. The communication protocol is EPSON ESC/P when device and printer
connected directly; the communication protocol is SID-401 PS when printer server
connected with printer.
