Manejo de nutrientes
2
Objectivos de buenas prcticas de fertilizacin
o de manejo de nutrimentos
Maximizar produccin
Optimizar ganancia econmica
Producir una buena calidad de producto
Utilizar mejor las reservas nutricionales del suelo
Protejer o mejorar la calidad del suelo
Considerar el impacto sobre los recursos naturales
3
Un agrnomo puede evaluar la fertilidad de
suelos por:

Categoras ambientales (Sotomayor et al., 2004)
Soil test P
Medium 12-35 10-20 NDa The upper limit of the Medium category is the suggested
agronomic critical soil test P level, beyond which
there exists a low probability of agronomic crop
response to addition of inorganic or organic P
(Muiz-Torres, 1992)
High 36-123 21-131 <167 The High category is the range of soil test P values in
which P addition can be applied in excess of
suggested agronomic critical levels but no crop
response is expected. The minimum value of the
category corresponds to the agronomic critical
levels and the maximum value to a dissolved P
value of 0.5 mg/L.
Very High 124-179 132-197 168-253 The Very High category is the range of soil test P values
in which P addition should not exceed crop uptake
and application should be performed with caution.
The minimum and maximum values of the
category correspond to a calculated dissolved P
value of 0.5 and 1.0 mg/L, respectively.
Extremely >179 >197 >253 The Extremely High category includes soil test P value
beyond which no additional P (inorganic or
High organic) should be permitted to be applied and
corresponds to a calculated dissolved P value
greater than 1 mg/L.
