he Quad Cities Photography Club holds regular competi-
tions in several categories, and often has a special cat-
egory. One month the category was Black and White.
Club member Dave Lohrman entered an image that he
had taken previously, and converted it to black and white. His
image of this impressive riverboat on the Mississippi River,
taken from the Bettendorf Dock, earned him one of the high
scores for that month.
For his image, he used a Nikon D90 with an 18-70mm lens
set at 45mm. It was shot at f/11, at 1/180, with ISO200. Dave
modified the image before submitting it using Silver Efex Pro
and dodged the edges.
