Bosch Emission Systems (BESG) is a
supplier of complete aftertreatment
systems for on- and of-highway
applications worldwide.
As a TIER 1 supplier, BESG is a one-
stop shop service supplier ofering
the complete range: from system
design, integration and application
right through to validation and manu-
facturing.
Our modular exhaust gas system
Since the introduction of emission
regulations in the on-highway and
of-highway sectors, particulate and
nitrogen oxide emissions have been
drastically reduced by internal com-
bustion measures of the engine. The
legal emission levels for of-highway
operation that came into force in
2011 and which will be reinforced in
2014 can only be achieved using
additional exhaust gas aftertreat-
ment measures. Accordingly, the
future will see a need not only for
economical and low emission diesel
engines but also for complex exhaust
gas aftertreatment for of-highway
vehicles. This is why we have devel-
oped a modular and lexible exhaust
gas system at BESG, which is the
basis for engines up to 560 kW. For
higher performance ranges, we can
provide special, custom-made solu-
tions for each clients individual
needs.
Particulate reduction can be achieved
by means of a diesel particulate ilter
(DPF). The active ilter regeneration
takes places in our Departronic.
Another option is passive regenera-
tion. Nitrogen oxide reduction is car-
ried out via the addition of AdBlue
by the Bosch Denoxtronic series,
which is proven in millions of appli-
cations over many years, followed by
conversion in the SCR catalytic con-
verter.
The regulation of the systems and
monitoring with the necessary sen-
sors is either done by a separate
control unit or as an integration solu-
tion within the engine control unit.

Extremely well thought-out to
perform under extreme conditions
Optimized mechanical, thermal and
chemical matching between the com-
ponents of an exhaust gas installa-
tion and the engine of the vehicle or
machine guarantees the best possi-
ble performance of the complete
system even under the most dii-
cult circumstances.
Particularly in the of-highway sector,
diesel engines are often operated
under extreme conditions. Massive
variations in temperature or consid-
erable mechanical strain caused by
vibrations place great demands on
the exhaust gas installation. During
the development of our systems we
have given as much intensive thought
and consideration to these condi-
tions as to demands for a long work-
ing life, robustness and unlimited
functionality over the entire range
of operating conditions.
