Rigidity is a structure or body's resistance to deform or flex when subjected to a force. Now the force it self
can be of different types - torsional force being one of them, others being shear, axial - which again can be
tensile or compression. So yes, torsional rigidity is only one component of a body's rigidity, which again can
be along the different axis it can be applied. Which is why said long back only a first class moron would claim
one body or the other is more rigid based on few figures, when it would probably take zillion measurements
to fully define a body's rigidity.
Here is the image showing average minimum yield strength of the materials used in BMWs

Multi phase steel is what BMW also uses extensively in 5 according to this image
on the CL, which is 3 years older than the W212, uses less HSS, and less advanced steels (as stated by M-B,
as in the W212 Press Releases, they said they used steels so advanced and strong, they weren't even
available for use just a couple of years earlier), it uses M-B's regarded "MEGA HIGH STRENGTH
STEEL",which has a higher tensile strength than the Boron used on the 5 GT. This MEGA HIGH
STRENGTH STEEL is used generously throughout the W212 (again, hence its impeccable performance in the
side and roof tests, i.e, that's the MHSS at work).
Also, M-B has been putting "cut-lines" on their cars for years, very necessary to all cars with UHSS Boron,
and especially to M-B's who now use their 1000 MPa UHSS exceeding 1500 MPa MHSS in these areas (A-C-
Pillars, etc.):
