More than sixteen (16) years of work experience in the fields of operations, financial management,

Familiar with country office strategic planning, risk management, emergency preparedness.
Expertise in evaluation and implementation of internal control and risk management systems and
knowledge of finance, administration, procurement, transportation, warehousing and HR policies
and procedures. Conducted internal audit and financial review assignments in different offices of Save the
Children in Afghanistan, Pakistan and Indonesia and came up with recommendations for improvement in
internal control systems.

financial records of WFPs huge food commodities distribution program being implemented by Save the
Children in North Afghanistan.

Manager Finance- JFSP Dec 2016 to May 2017

I served with Jonglai Food Security Program (JFSP), a USAID funded project in South Sudan, as Manager Finance
during this period. In this job I was responsible for overall financial management and reporting of the project and to
work closely with HR to ensure maintenance and implementation of time sheets and effort reporting system as
required by USAID rules and regulations. Moreover, I was also overseeing the process of budget management and
preparation of monthly Budgeted vs Actuals (BvA) reports. I oversaw donor compliance issues around payments,
procurements etc and ensured the same are in line with organizations policies and procedures. I got involved in
trainings and capacity building of finance and operations staff to improve their understanding of
financial/operational/procurement policies of the organization that helped to improve over all internal control
environment of the project. During this period I also facilitated couple of internal and external audits of the project.

Financial/ Operations/Risk Management Consultant July 2013 to Nov 2016

I worked in Pakistan, during this period, as a free-lance consultant with different national and international NGOs. I
have done project evaluations for some international donors during this period. Moreover, I also volunteered to build
capacity of finance staff of couple of national NGOs in Pakistan. Prepared policy manuals (Procurement, finance,
policies n procedures, sub grant/sub contract guidelines) and conducted trainings of operations staff in these NGOs.
Evaluated their internal control systems and suggested improvements. I am currently providing consultancy services
to number of local NGOs in Pakistan and designed control systems for them keeping in view their size, growth
potential, minimum acceptable standards and donor requirements. During the above mentioned period I have

During this job with Save the Children, Sweden I was responsible to oversee the finance, grants, HR and operations
(Admin and logistics) and supervised four staff including Manager Operations. Oversaw and ensured timely,
accurate and efficient financial reporting, donor reporting, participated in proposal preparations. I conducted
trainings for the staff of SC and partners to build their capacity in finance, administration and logistics management.
In addition to above lead the HR and operations teams. I over saw the Logistics, supply chain and security related
day to day affairs. I ensured smooth hiring process, maintenance of personnel files, trainings and performance
management of more than sixty (60) employees of Darfur programs (Elfasher, Provincial HQ and two sub offices)
Represented SC in different UN/INGO forums related to security, finance and operations. Moreover, I was member
of the SMT and served as Acting Field Coordinator in the absence of Field Coordinator.
Facilitated external and internal audit of North Darfur operations of SC-Sweden.

Moreover, I was also responsible to review the financial reports of IPs and to provide support and trainings to their
staff to improve their capacity and efficiency in collaboration with respective program managers/sector coordinators.

Country Finance Manager Sep 2010 to Jun 2011

I lead the finance team of War Child Canada (WCC) in Sudan country office and spent most of the time in West
Darfur (El-Geneina) during this job. My key responsibilities in this job included;

Financial reporting, donor reporting, training of national staff with War Child and partners in administrative and
financial controls. I played my role as member of the SMT in planning and strategic decision making . Worked as
Acting Country Director in the absence of Coutry director.

Worked closely with operations and logistics teams to ensure compliance to donors/ WCCs policies and
procedures.Provided trainings to finance, operations and security staff to build their capacity.

Financial Consultant Jan 1, 2009 to Sep 2010


I worked as free lance consultant. During this period, I did the following consultancies

1- Provided services to Save the Children USA, Afghanistan country office in the field of grants and budgets and
finalized twelve different proposals in coordination with Dy.Director Program Development- Afghanistan for further
submission to different donors including OFDA, USAID, BPRM, UNICEF, Bulgari etc

2- Worked with I-LED program of Citizens Network for Foreign Affairs (CNFA),a USAID contractor, in Pakistan
to review their grants awarding procedures and training of their staff in the districts.

3- Provided services to Save the Children, Pakistan country office in their newly established Emergency Response
Program for IDPs and helped in establishing offices in Mardan and Swabi districts. Trained newly hired finance and
admin staff in policies and procedures, financial reporting and compliance issues. Put in place the controls and
systems for efficient use of resources and timely reporting.

4- Worked as Senior Manager Finance/Grants in Afghanistan with Save the Children US. This was a short term
position. My responsibilities in this job included overall management of grants, donor reporting, preparation of new
budget proposals, preparation of monthly Budgeted vs Actual reports, compliance of rules and regulations of
different donors and trainings to finance and program staff on grants management and budget preparation and
enhancing their ability to understand Budgeted vs Actual (BvA) reports.

I joined Aceh programs in March 2006 as Manager Finance and IT got promoted to the position of Senior Manager
Finance, Budgets and Grants in Sep 2007. My responsibilities in this job included

Financial management and reporting for Aceh programs. SC was working in four districts of Aceh.
Review of all district financial reports and consolidation of the same.
Oversaw the award procedures and compliance issues regarding sub grants/contracts with implementing
partners (32 IPs), review and analysis of finance reports from IPs to monitor progress and risk assessments
in collaboration with respective sector head and District Manager.
Assistance to project managers, sector heads and District managers to develop their annual budgets and
helping them to interpret BvA (Budget vs Actual reports) to monitor their activities and budgets
effectively.
Grants management and overseeing compliance issues.
Capacity building of national staff and staff of IPs was one of the most important responsibilities. I
managed to train the Aceh based finance/grants teams in SCs policies and procedures, internal control,
procurement cycle and documentation, Balance sheet schedules and financial reporting and improved the
overall quality of financial reporting.

Conducted periodic finance reviews in the districts and gave suggestions to improve the control
environment and also highlighted the requirement of trainings for support staff in finance, procurement

Being a member of Supply Chain Management Group of Indonesia Country office suggested different
improvements in the Procurement Manual and improved coordination between procurement and finance

Carried out internal audit of WFPs food program in North Afghanistan being implemented by
SC/US. Visited Mazar e Sharif, Andkhoy and Sari pul offices in this regard.
Internal audit of Micro Credit program at Andkhoy, Afghanistan.
I was part of the team in PkFO, which tested and debugged the newly designed accounting
software SUNLIGHT II. PkFO staff has prepared this accounting software and I am well versed
in its usage.

Responsible for all finance and administrative activities for projects programs in District Haripur.
