Dr. Sarabjeet as Guest speaker in

international Orthodontic conference

Dr. P P Jacobs award winner and
National Dental excellence award
winner for year 2014, 2015 and 2016,
Dr. Sarabjeet Singh is a renowned face
in Indian orthodontics over three
decades and at present he is the con-
venor of Chandigarh Orthodontic
study circle.
Recently he was invited as a guest
speaker at international Orthodontic
conference at Prague, held by Czech
Orthodontic Society in association
with Indian Orthodontic Society.
Dr. Sarabjeet Singh talked about
the new technique of SPEEDO-
ORTHODONTICS in which the braces
treatment were done fast and pain-
less using Low Intensity Lasers and
specially designed braces. These
braces are absolutely invisible and
painless and reduced the duration of
orthodontic treatment by fifty per-
cent.
Dr. Singh has a brilliant academic
record from KGMC Lucknow and PGI
Chandigarh, has a vast multidimen-
sional experience and is a profile
speaker at both national and interna-
tional level. He has been Executive
committee member of IOS multiple
times and is presently the. . He served
as the chief Indian doctor of the China
India Joint Medical Mission III in
China in 2012. He has directed various
courses and lectured all over the
nation. He has many national and
international publications to his cred-
it.
He apprised that Functionality and
aesthetics are key considerations in
patients requesting orthodontic treat-
ment. However, patients may elect to
forego orthodontic treatment due to
the cost and the duration of treat-
ment. Patients are always concerned
about the duration of Orthodontic
treatment that is how long treatment
will take. Increase durations of braces
may also lead to caries and periodon-
tal damage, if the patient is not taking
care of oral hygiene properly.
He further stated that there are
many methods available to accelerate
tooth movement, such as surgical ,
mechanical/ physical stimulation
methods, drugs, magnets etc. These
methods have been successfully
proven to reduce treatment times,
but an easier method in control of
orthodontist is to use low intensity
laser therapy(LLLT) along with friction-
less ,very aesthetic, self ligating
braces which reduces the time of
Orthodontic treatment by 40-50 per-
cent(Speedo orthodontics).The lasers
increase the rate of orthodontic tooth
movement in a more physiological
manner and causes no side on the
vitality of periodontium.
These self ligation braces are
absolutely tooth coloured like ceramic
braces but they dont use rubbers for
tying on brackets, hence do not
become Discoloured (yellow) with
food .These braces have passive tooth
coloured locks on the bracket which
ligate the wire and hence do not press
on the wire, so there is less friction
and less pain leading to less duration.
With the advent of newer tooth
coloured wires, these Speed braces
have become absolutely invisible with
the added advantage of considerable
decreasing the duration of treatment.

While presiding over a meeting of all the government
departments at Solan,V.C.Pharka Chief Secretary has
directed the National Highway Authority to keep Shimla-
Parwanoo highway through round the clock, keeping in
view the ongoing apple season in the state. He further
said apple has an important role in the economy of the
state and keeping in view the fact that maximum apple
boxes are transported through Shimla-Parwanoo high-
way, it should remain open day and night.
He also directed to take into consideration the topog-
raphy and geological conditions while carrying out the
work on four-laning of this highway. He directed the
authority to remove construction material lying on the
sides of the highway to avoid traffic jams. He also
stressed that while carrying out the work on broadening
of this highway, it should be ensure that there is no loss
to agricultural and other type of lands of the farmers.
Pharka directed the SDMs concerned for early disposal
of land acquisition cases and also asked the district
administration to broaden the alternative routes con-
structed due to ongoing work on four-laning of Shimla-
Parwanoo national highway.
It was disclosed in the meeting that Solan district suf-
fered a loss to the tune of Rs. 37 crores in the monsoon sea-
