General Purpose
Herman Millers Summer Internship Program is a paid, 12-week opportunity that provides a 100% real-world
experience for students early in their career. Throughout the summer you will apply academic learning to real-world
situations and cultivate leadership, problem solving, and communication skills.
As a Linux/Unix Administrator Intern you will have the opportunity to provide general operating system and end-user
support for Red Hat Enterprise Linux servers. You may also work on monitoring and desired state automation
projects throughout the summer.
Essential Functions
Youll have opportunities to speak up, solve problems, lead others, and be an owner every day as you:
Participate in the design, deployment, and support of Linux and Unix server infrastructure
Work with general administration
Assist in infrastructure monitoring
Contribute to desired state automation projects
Gain experience with Ruby and/or Perl development
Participate in cross-functional teamwork to complete an Intern Project
Attain on-the-job work experience aligned with your career objectives
Perform additional responsibilities as needed to achieve business objectives
