Keeping girls in school

Tubatse Chrome visited nine local schools with their
Women in Chrome - Sanitary Towel Campaign.
They visited Steelpoort Academy, Maelebe Primary
School, Shopiane, Legapane, Kgoboko, Mante,
Nkokwane, Mampuru and Ngwanatheko Primary
Schools to speak to the girls at the age where they
are just about to start having their monthly periods.
Together with Sister Molapo a presentation was
given on the changes a girls body undergo and what
is normal and what not. The girls had the opportunity
to ask questions in a safe environment. Many girls
stay away from school when they are menstruating
as they cannot afford the sanitary products. The
group of women from Tubatse therefore
delivered special packages with sanitary
towels. More than 1100 girls were
reached.
