needs?
Baseline Data Sample of 26 (Introduction to 2D Art & Design) students
Analysis Self portrait pre-drawing worth a total of 50 (no count) points
Overall Score Range = 16% - 64%

Instruction on observational drawing, use of media, facial proportions, and
concept will take place throughout the semester to help students develop
necessary skills to succeed on the assessment.

the end of the interval of instruction? How will I measure student growth? Which students growth will be
measured over the instructional interval?
Objective A sample of 26 Introduction to 2D Art & Design students will demonstrate
Statement creative expression, media technique, and craftsmanship through the successful
completion of a self-portrait drawing.
Observational drawing skills; specifically in proportion of facial features,
value/shading to achieve light source, mark-making to illustrate texture,
composition, craftsmanship, and creative expression of face and background will
be practiced over the course of the semester through formative and summative
assessments (i.e. sketchbook assignment #1 facial features is highly emphasized
throughout the semester)
Student growth will be measured through use of an existing rubric, didactic
assessments (observation/feedback through working progress), and formative
sketchbook activities.
