Major Deegan Expressway


Traffic Pattern:
As of Wednesday, September 6th, 2017 at 5am, a new traffic pattern will be in place on the S/B Major Deegan Expressway
from 161st Street, near Macombs Dam Bridge, to 138 th Street. Three (3) lanes will be restored, with two (2) S/B travel lanes
available to the extreme right, and one (1) travel lane to the left, toward the center median. These two travel areas will be
separated by a work-zone in between. This new traffic pattern will be in place until October, 2017.
Traffic Pattern:
A New Traffic Pattern is in place on the S/B Major Deegan Expressway from 161 st Street, near Macombs Dam Bridge, to 138 th
Street. The S/B Major Deegan Expressway is reduced from three to two available lanes of traffic until Wednesday, September 6th,
2017.

A Traffic Pattern is in place on the N/B Major Deegan Expressway from 138th Street to Macombs Dam Bridge, one (1) lane closed
through November 2017.

TRAVEL ADVISORY: OPENING OF NEW KOSCIUSZKO BRIDGE
EASTBOUND AND WESTBOUND BQE TRAFFIC SHIFTED ONTO NEW BRIDGE
Motorists are advised that the New York State Department of Transportation has shifted the eastbound and westbound Brooklyn-
Queens Expressway (BQE) traffic onto the New Kosciuszko Bridge.
Traffic entering the westbound BQE via ramps from the LIE and 43 rd Street is also shifted onto the New Kosciuszko Bridge.
Motorists are reminded that fines are doubled for speeding in a work zone. In accordance with the Work Zone Safety Act of 2005,
convictions of two or more speeding violations in a work zone could result in the suspension of an individuals driver license. It is
imperative that motorists drive carefully through construction work zones, for their own safety and the safety of workers.

Long Island Expressway


Traffic Pattern:
A New Traffic Pattern is in place in both directions on the Long Island Expressway (LIE) mainline and service roads between the
Grand Central Parkway (GCP) and Junction Boulevard in central Queens. This pattern will be in place until January 2018.
Westbound Long Island Expressway Mainline over the Grand Central Parkway: Traffic will be split on the westbound Long
Island Expressway mainline over the Grand Central Parkway, with one lane to the left of a concrete barrier and two lanes to the
right. All lanes will be through lanes. All lanes will be able to access Junction Boulevard at Exit 20.
Westbound Long Island Expressway Service Road to Exit for Westbound Grand Central Parkway: The right lane of the
westbound Long Island Expressway service road will become an exit-only lane to the westbound Grand Central Parkway. The left
lane will continue to be a through lane, providing access to the eastbound Grand Central Parkway, westbound Long Island
Expressway and 108th Street.
Entrance to Westbound Long Island Expressway and Exit to Junction Blvd Starting near 108 th Street Exit on Service
Road: The entrance ramp to the westbound Long Island Expressway is being converted from one to two lanes, starting just before
the exit for 108th Street on the westbound Long Island Expressway service road. The right travel lane will be an exit-only lane to
Exit 20, Junction Boulevard. The left lane will merge with the westbound Long Island Expressway.
Fines are doubled for speeding in a work zone. In accordance with the Work Zone Safety Act of 2005, convictions of two or more

Friday September 1, 2017 to Sunday September 3, 2017

As part of its citywide traffic improvement program, the New York City Department of Transportation has compiled a list of areas where
Street construction or Street events will impede the normal flow of traffic this weekend.

MANHATTAN

West 33rd Street between 9th Avenue and Dyer Avenue: This street will be closed 10pm Friday through 6am Monday to facilitate crane
operation.

East 69th Street between York Avenue and 1st Avenue: This street will be closed Saturday and Sunday from 7am to 7pm to facilitate
crane operation.

East 77th Street between 2nd Avenue and 1st Avenue: This street will be closed Saturday from 8am to 6pm and Sunday from 9am to
6pm to facilitate crane operation.

East 78th Street between Lexington Avenue and Park Avenue: This street will be closed Saturday and Sunday from 8am to 6pm to
facilitate crane operation.

East 78th Street between 3rd Avenue and Lexington Avenue: This street will be closed Saturday from 8am to 8pm to facilitate crane
operation.

East 80th Street between Lexington Avenue and 3rd Avenue: This street will be closed Saturday from 8am to 6pm and Sunday from
9am to 6pm to facilitate crane operation.

West 80th Street between Broadway and Amsterdam Avenue: This street will be closed Saturday from 8am to 6pm and Sunday from

operation.

6pm, and Sunday 9am to 6pm to facilitate major gas installation.

Cortlandt Alley between Walker Street and White Street: This street will be closed Friday 10pm to Saturday 5am, and again Saturday
8am to 6pm, and Sun 9am to 6pm to facilitate major gas installation.

Bowery Street between Prince Street and Rivington Street: This street will be closed Friday through Sunday from 10pm to 8am to
facilitate crane operation.

Exchange Place between William Street and Hanover Street: This street will be closed Saturday and Sunday from 8am to 8pm to
facilitate crane operation.

Dutch Street between Fulton Street and John Street: This street will be closed Friday 10pm to Saturday 5am to facilitate new building

Saturday September 2, 2017 to Friday September 8, 2017

The City of New Yorks Department of Transportation issued a traffic alert for this week providing the locations of road construction and
events where lane and street closings will affect the flow of traffic. Lane closings may also occur due to circumstances beyond our control.
Major road, lane and street closings for the coming week are as follows:

EAST RIVER BRIDGE CROSSINGS

Williamsburg Bridge There are four lanes of traffic in each direction on the bridge. Trucks are allowed on the outer roadways only. A
single lane in each direction may be closed off peak hours as needed to facilitate NYCDOT bridge inspection and maintenance work.

Ed Koch/Queensboro Bridge: The North Inner Lower Roadway is Manhattan-bound with access from Queens Plaza North to Second
Avenue and East 60th Street. The South Inner Lower roadway is Queens-bound with access from 2nd Avenue to Queens Plaza South.
Trucks are allowed on the lower inner roadways only. Trucks are prohibited from the upper and outer roadways. The North Upper
Roadway is Manhattan-bound at all times. Access is to East 62nd Street/East 63rd Street in Manhattan from Thomson Avenue, 21st Street
at Queens Plaza North, and 11th Street at Queens Plaza South in Queens. The South Upper Roadway is Queens-bound except Monday to
Friday from 6am to 10am when the roadway is reversed and accommodates the Manhattan bound high occupancy vehicle (HOV) lane
containing two or more people. Access is to East 58th Street/East 57th Street in Manhattan from Thomson Avenue or 21st Street at 43rd
Avenue in Queens. The South Outer Roadway of the lower level is open to passenger cars only with access from westbound 59th Street off
of 1st Avenue to Queens Plaza South (except 9pm-6am nightly when roadway is closed to traffic). The North Outer Roadway will be fully
closed daily from 9pm to 5am through June 2017 to facilitate utility construction. Free shuttle bus service and bicycle transport will be
provided during these times. One lane in each direction on the lower roadway will be closed from 12:01am to 5am Monday to Friday
through August 2017 to facilitate NYCDOT Bridge maintenance. One lane will be closed on the 21st Street exit ramp upper deck from
11pm to 5:30am Sunday nights to Friday mornings through October 2017, to facilitate NYCDOT Bridges component rehabilitation work.

Manhattan Bridge: There are five lanes westbound and two lanes eastbound. No trucks are permitted on the North Upper westbound
roadway from 5am to 10am Monday to Friday. One lane at a time on the westbound (Manhattan-bound) Upper Roadway is closed from
12:01am to 5am (two nights per week) through Saturday, September 30, 2017 to facilitate NYCDOT Bridges repairs. One lane closed for
either direction on Upper Roadway Monday to Thursday 10pm to 5am for cleaning and lubrication until August 31, 2017.

MANHATTAN

Houston Street Overpass at FDR Drive: NYCDOT Bridges is rehabilitating the Houston Street Overpass at FDR Drive in Manhattan. In
order to accommodate work on the new bridge deck, several closures will occur on the FDR Drive. One lane will be closed on either
direction Monday to Friday from 11pm to 5:30am, Saturday 12:01am to 6:30am, and Sunday from 1am to 11am. Two northbound lanes
will be closed Tuesday to Friday from 1am to 5am and Saturday from 2am to 6am.

Trans-Manhattan Expressway (TME) Connector Ramp from George Washington Bridge to Harlem River Drive: One of two lanes
in either direction (northbound or southbound) will be intermittently closed from 10pm to 5am Monday to Thursday, and from 12:01am to
10am Saturday through September 2017 to facilitate NYCDOT Bridges repairs.

Battery Park Underpass between FDR Drive and Route 9A: Single-Tube closure Monday to Friday from 10pm to 5am and Saturday from
1am to 8am. Dual-Tube closure Monday to Friday from 1am to 5am through July 2018 to facilitate NYCDOT Bridges electrical
rehabilitation. Motorists should follow the posted detours.

FDR Drive (southbound) from 68th Street and 63rd Street: One of three lanes southbound will be closed from 11pm to 5:30am Monday
to Friday, 12:01am to 6:30am Saturday and from 1am to 11am Sunday through mid-September 2017 to facilitate long term building
construction. In addition, the exit ramp from the southbound FDR Drive to East 63rd Street (Exit 12) will be fully closed from 12:30am to
4:30am Monday to Friday until September 17, 2017 to accommodate utility construction.

FDR Drive at East 91st Street: One of three lanes in either direction (northbound or southbound) may be closed from 11pm to 5:30am
Monday to Friday, 12:01am to 6:30am Saturday and 1am to 11am Sunday. Two of three lanes in either direction (northbound or
southbound) may be closed from 1am to 5am Tuesday to Friday, 2am to 6am Saturday and 2am to 7am Sunday. These lane closures are
necessary through July 2018 to facilitate NYCDDC Marine Transfer Station construction.

from 12:01am to 6am Monday to Friday, 2am to 8am Saturday and 2am to 10am Sunday. One southbound lane will be closed from 8pm to
6am Monday to Friday, 8pm Friday to 9am Saturday and 8pm Saturday to 11am Sunday. Two southbound lanes will be closed from 11pm
to 6am Monday to Friday, 12:01am to 8am Saturday and 1am to 9am Sunday. These lane closures are necessary to facilitate NYSDOT
roadway rehabilitation work.

Route 9A/West Street (northbound/southbound) between 50th Street and 59th Street: One northbound lane will be closed from 11pm
to 6am Monday to Friday, 12:01am to 10am Saturday and 1am to 11:59am Sunday. Two northbound lanes will be closed from 12:01am to
6am Monday to Friday, 2am to 9am Saturday and 3am to 10am Sunday. One southbound lane will be closed from 9pm to 6am Monday to
Friday, 12:01am to 8am Saturday and 12:01am to 11am Sunday. Two southbound lanes will be closed from 12:01am to 6am Monday to
Friday, 1am to 7am Saturday and 1am to 8am Sunday. These lane closures are necessary to facilitate NYSDOT roadway rehabilitation
work.

West 155 Street/Viaduct between Harlem River Drive and Edgecombe Avenue: The NYC Department of Transportation Division of
Bridges will continue repairs of the structural steel of the West 155th Street Viaduct of the Macombs Dam Bridge. The Macombs Dam
Viaduct, between the Harlem River Drive and Edgecombe Avenue, will be closed from Wednesday 11pm to Thursday 5am and West 155
Street roadway below, between Frederick Douglass Boulevard (8 Avenue) and the Harlem River Drive Service Road, will be closed from
Wednesday 9pm to Thursday 5am.

10th Avenue between West 30th Street and West 33rd Street: Three lanes of traffic will be maintained on 10th Avenue through
September 2017 to facilitate ongoing new building construction activity.

11th Avenue between West 30th Street and West 33rd Street: Three lanes of traffic will be maintained on 11th Avenue, through
September 2017 to facilitate ongoing new building construction activity.

West 30th Street between 11th Avenue and 10th Avenue: One lane of traffic is maintained on West 30th Street to facilitate new building
construction through September 2017.

West 33rd Street between 10th Avenue and 11th Avenue: This street is fully closed closed to facilitate long term roadway reconstruction
work.

Harlem River Drive Northbound Exit Ramp #19 to East 125 th Street: This exit ramp is closed through 2017 for the reconstruction of the
Harlem River Viaduct. Motorists should use the East 135 th Street/Exit 21 as an alternate exit.

MANHATTAN/BROOKLYN

Hugh L. Carey Tunnel: One tube will be closed nightly Monday to Friday between 8:30pm and 5:30am and Saturday from 11pm to 8am
to facilitate tunnel repairs through 2018. Weekend-long single tube closures will begin Friday night from 9:30pm and continue through
5:30am Monday morning. In addition one tube will be closed for routine maintenance work Sunday night beginning at 11pm through
5:30am Monday. During these times there will be one lane in each direction in the remaining tube.

BROOKLYN

Gowanus Expressway/Belt Parkway Interchange between 86 th Street and 45th Street: One of three lanes in each direction may be
closed Monday to Friday from 10am to 3pm to facilitate NYSDOT long term roadway rehabilitation work.

Hamilton Avenue between Clinton Street and Prospect Expressway; Third Avenue between 53rd Street and 6th Avenue; 65th
Street between Third Avenue and Sixth Avenue: One lane may be closed on the above roadways northbound towards the Brooklyn
Battery tunnel from 10am to 3pm weekdays. One lane may be closed on the above roadways southbound towards the Verrazano Narrows
Bridge from 7am to 3pm weekdays to facilitate NYSDOT long term work.

Belt Parkway/Shore Parkway at 69th Street: One lane in each direction from 10am to 2pm weekdays to facilitate NYCDOT Bridge
reconstruction work.

Prospect Expressway (inbound) Northbound at Gowanus Expressway Interchange: A special contra-flow lane is open for buses from
6am to 10am Monday to Friday. The priority lane will use the outbound Prospect Expressway connector ramp for inbound buses. The
Prospect priority lane will run parallel to the Gowanus Expressway special lane from the Prospect/Gowanus interchange to the Hugh L.
Carey Tunnel.

Atlantic Avenue between Fort Greene Place and Carlton Avenue: Three lanes of traffic are maintained westbound and two lanes
maintained eastbound as part of the Atlantic Yards long term construction project

Belt Parkway Bridge over Mill Basin: One of three lanes may be closed in either direction to facilitate long term NYCDOT Bridge
reconstruction from 10am to 2pm Monday to Friday through December 2017.

BROOKLYN/QUEENS

Pulaski Bridge over Newtown Creek: One lane in either direction will be closed Monday to Friday from 10am to 2pm, and Saturday
from 7am to 3pm through September 30, 2017 to facilitate NYCDOT Bridges expansion joint removal and installation.

MANHATTAN/QUEENS

Queens Midtown Tunnel: One tube in either direction will be closed from 11pm Friday nights to 5:30am Monday mornings. The
Manhattan-bound (north) tube is closed Monday through Thursday nights, from 9:30pm to 5:30am. This is to accommodate ongoing
Superstorm Sandy restoration work. One lane in each direction will always remain open in the other tube when one tube is closed.

QUEENS

Belt Parkway between Cross Bay Boulevard and 149 th Street: One of three lanes in either direction may be closed 10am to 2pm
weekdays and 10pm to 5am weeknights. Two of three lanes in either direction may be closed 1am to 5am weeknights to facilitate
NYCDEP sewer reconstruction through September 2017. Additionally one of two lanes on the Nassau Expressway exit ramp to eastbound
Belt Parkway from 115th Street to 128th Street will be closed.

Cross Island Parkway under Northern Boulevard: One of three lanes in either direction will be closed from 10pm to 1am Monday
nights to Saturday mornings an 10pm Saturday nights to 2am Sunday mornings, and two of three lanes in either direction will be closed
from 1am to 5am Mondays to Friday mornings, 1am to 6am Saturday mornings and 2am to 9am Sunday mornings through August 30, 2017
to facilitate NYC DOT Bridges protective bridge coating. One lane for traffic in either direction will remain open to traffic at all times.

60th Lane between Eliot Avenue and Metropolitan Avenue: 60th Lane will change direction from one-way northbound to one-way
southbound through January 2018 to facilitate NYCDOT Bridges deck replacement at the Metropolitan Avenue and Fresh Pond Road
Bridge over the Long Island Railroad.

BRONX

Major Deegan Expressway (1-87) Northbound Entrance Ramp #9 from West Fordham Road: This ramp will be fully closed to traffic
from 10pm to 10am seven days per week through December 2017 to facilitate NYCDEP repairs to wastewater line. Motorists should
follow the posted detour.

Leggett Avenue Bridge over Amtrak/CSX Railroad: The eastbound side of the bridge will be fully closed to traffic with two-way traffic
maintained on the westbound side of the bridge from 10pm to 6am nightly, through August 2017, to facilitate NYCDOT Bridges
rehabilitation.

Hutchinson River Parkway under Westchester Avenue Bridge: Two of three lanes in each direction will be closed from 12:01am to
5am Monday to Friday through September 1, 2017 to facilitate NYCDOT Bridges Westchester Avenue Bridge rehabilitation. The double-
lane closure will be in effect from the East Tremont Avenue exit to the Pelham Parkway entrance ramp to the southbound Hutchinson River
Parkway. One lane of traffic will remain open at all times, in each direction.

Westchester Avenue between Waters Place and Ericson Place: One lane westbound will be closed from 9pm to 6am nightly through
September 1, 2017 to facilitate NYCDOT Bridges Westchester Avenue Bridge rehabilitation. One lane of traffic in each direction will
remain at all times.

STATEN ISLAND

Martin Luther King Expressway northbound exit/entrance ramps to/from Trantor Place: Effective November 4, 2013 the
northbound exit ramp (last exit before Bayonne Bridge) is closed. The Trantor Place entrance to northbound Expressway/Bayonne Bridge
is also closed. Motorists should follow posted detours and use the prior Forest Avenue exit, and the Forest Avenue entrance. This long term
closure expected through November 2017 is part of the PANY/NJ work associated with the Bayonne Bridge navigational clearance closure
project.

STATEN ISLAND/NEW JERSEY CROSSINGS

Bayonne Bridge: One of two lanes in each direction is open to traffic for PANY/NJ long term navigational clearance project. No oversized
or overweight vehicles are permitted. Overnight Bridge closures started January 8th, 2014 and continue through the duration of the project.
The closures are: Monday through Thursday from 7pm to 5am and 10pm Friday to 3pm Sunday. No weekend closures on Sunday and
holiday weekends. Weekday full closures are from 9am to 3pm Monday to Friday. During closures, motorists should use the Goethals
Bridge as an alternate.

HUGH L. CAREY TUNNEL (MTA)
MTA Bridges & Tunnels: One tube will be closed nightly Monday to Friday between 9:30pm and 5:30am to facilitate tunnel repairs
through 2018. In addition one tube will be closed for routine maintenance work Sunday night beginning at 11pm through 5:30 Monday.
During these times there will be one lane in each direction in the remaining tube. Motorists may experience delays. This work is weather
dependent and may be canceled in the event of inclement weather.

QUEENS MIDTOWN TUNNEL (MTA)
