3t Tensioner

Application
The 3 tons tensioner is used for the linear
movement of a cable or pipe.
The tensioner is especially designed for a
cable or pipe with substantial elongation.
When the cable is pulled with a load of 3tons
the cable stretches. The load on the cable
leaving the tensioner is almost zero.
The space between the pads decreases
while moving the cable. This system
prevents stress on the cable.

System Components
The system consists of two track bodys
squeezing a cable or pipe. The clamping
force is applied through a system of
levers and a linear actuator. Due to the
squeeze force and friction the cable/pipe
can be pulled with 3t.
The tensioner is able to accommodate
the cable elongation, and uses a special
adjustable system.
The pads squeezing the cable are
pulleys with a chain. The chain is driven
with an sprocket and electric motor.

Conventional pipe lay tensioners do not
have to cope with the problem of cable
elongation. When elongation reaches a
significant percentage this has to be
addressed otherwise
