Research Title:
A Comparative study of Absenteeism Rate of
Male and Female Students of San Isidro
Integrated Senior High School
S.Y 2017-2018

Statement of the Problem:

This Study will determine the Comparative Study on the Absenteeism Rate of
Male and Female Students of San Isidro Integrated Senior High School S.Y 2017-
2018

1. What is the level of Absenteeism Rate of Male and Female Students of San
Isidro Integrated Senior High School before?
2. How is the level of proficiency improved?
3. Is there a significant difference on the level of the performance?

Null Hypothesis:
There is no significant difference on the Absenteeism Rate of the Male and
Female Students of San Isidro Integrated Senior High School.

Research Data Gathering Technique:

Background of the study

Absenteeism deals with the behavior of the students inside the classroom. Its

like a drugs that once your mind taste, it will command your whole body to do the

things that you want to. Most of the students commit absenteeism because they want,

they are mad going to school, they are influenced by their companions and etch. Yes,

you will get satisfaction when you did absent in your class but remember it will also

ruin your higher grades and leads you to fail in your better future.

Introduction

Absenteeism, according to Merriam- Webster dictionary means chronic

absence. In the context of the school it is the habitual or intentional failure from going

to school. It cannot be denied that every now and then, students may miss some

school activities and lessons. But it becomes a problem if the student will be away

from school for many days. Absenteeism in school is the habit of staying away from

school without providing a genuine or any reason for not attending classes.

Absenteeism is a truant behavior that negatively affects the performance among

students. This called Absenteeism may slowly affect their grades because of their

continuously/habitual doing it.

Chronic absentee students are placed at a disadvantage both socially and

academically. They miss out on critical stages of social interaction and development

with their peers and at the same time impacts negatively on their academic progress.

This can result to low self-esteem, social isolation, and dissatisfaction that could well
have precipitated non-attendance in the first place.

This study focuses on the difference between the attendance of Male and

Female students. The attendance of whole population of Male and Female is a broad

problem that San Isidro Integrated Senior High School facing. The number of students

in a particular room will be lessen mostly in the afternoon. There's a lot of factors that

affects Absenteeism of the students. It affects their emotions that can change their

decisions.

Significance of the Study

The purpose of this study is to determine the total Absenteeism Rate of Male

and Female who continuously absent in their class and what are the factors that could

affect their decision-making. This could be affect by our Peers, Companions, and

Family.

Decision making includes our mindset, thoughts, ideas, and opinion in

something mostly to the things that you enjoyed in many times or to the things that

you love to do.

Statement of the Problem

2018

Scope and Limitation

This study was conducted at San Isidro Integrated Senior High School and

limited only to the currently enrolled students of Junior and Senior High School.

This is also limited only to determine the Rate of Male and Female students

who choose always to absent.

Methodology

The basis of this research is to bring light and clarity to the problem of
absenteeism. This research is a Compative study of Absenteeism Rate of Male and

Female and also be of help to identify variables apart from results to evaluate the level

of the problem. But the first milestone will be to assess the awareness of the problem

of absenteeism among students of San Isidro Integrated Senior High School.

Respondents and Location

This study contains the data gathered from ramdomly selected students in

every year level at San Isidro Integrated Senior High School. Their age ranges 12-14,

15-17, and 18- 20. The total number of respondents in this research is 60.

Data gathering techniques

The researchers gathered data using survey forms, the researchers also

interviewed the respondents to ensure that they are the one who will answer the

questions to surpass what this research is all about.
