handling.

Riser Cleaning
A stainless steel, spiral-wound brush mechanism
and the CAMCHEC Honing Tool are pulled
through the riser joint. The tool and brush are
rotated by a high speed motor. A high pressure
water spray is used to remove dirt, scale, loose
coating, dried well fluid, etc. along the entire
length of the riser joint.

Video Inspection
The CAMCHEC Video Inspection Camera is deployed
through the main riser tube first to perform a complete
internal video/visual examination. Imperfections to
within one millimeter are projected to a computer
monitor and the entire inspection is recorded to video
tape. A smaller inspection camera is run through the
auxiliary lines. The video inspection may be followed by
a dimensional and ovality survey.

Corrosion Mapping
The CAMCHEC Corrosion Mapping Tools are used
to evaluate the depth of corrosion and measure
the wall thickness of the tube body. The
corrosion survey is performed over the entire
length of both main and auxiliary lines. The data
is digitally recorded in real time, presented in
color to depth formats, and permanently stored
for future analysis and trending.

Time of Flight Diffraction (TOFD)

Using the specially manufactured CAMCHEC TOFD
tooling, a complete TOFD examination of all welds
determines the presence of all corrosion, cracking
and other detrimental defects. The systems are
operated remotely and may incorporate a video
camera. The TOFD data is collected in real time and
is displayed in a simple gray scale format for ease of
interpretation.
