Purpose
In this section I will describe the main logic of milestone confirmation.

Overview
I made examples to illustrate the system behaviour in case of milestone confirmation.

Basics of milestone confirmation

whether a milestone confirmation is done is decided by the process control key assigned to the operation
e.g. if operation 2 is a milestone, the system will confirm automatically operation 1 while confirmation 2 is done, which means that confirmation of operation 2 leads to a confirmation of operation

>>> in CO14 we can see, that both of the operations have been confirmed and the milestone flags are displayed here

there are restrictions!

Add more operations in CO02

>>> if we confirm operation 4, the confirmation works until the next milestone which is operation 2 in our example (because control key PP03 is set as milestone)

What breaks the milestone logic

The first four operations have been confirmed and now the we want to confirm operation 6
>>> it is expected, that operation 5 will be confirmed

It is allowed to confirm operation 5 manually, so we confirm first operation 5 manually (gets a status: PCNF. partially confirmed) and then confirm operation 6
>>> the status of operation 5 has not changed to CNF (confirmed)!
>>> if a manual confirmation was done before milestone, then the milestone logic is broken for this operation (see the SAP Help documentation link below)
>>> it can be also needed to check the timestamp, which confirmation was the first (Transaction CO14-details -> Administration tab -> Entered on)
