KTH User Account

You will receive your KTH user account and password during Arrival Days or at KTH Entr or your
local IT Support. Please bring your valid ID card or a passport.
Your KTH account grants you access to:

Log on to KTH login service

Navigate in the Personal Manu
Email- webmail
Wireless (WiFi)-eduroam
Online courses in Canvas
Collaboration KTH Social

KTH Login Service

Log in to www.kth.se with your KTH account and password.

Wireless access (WiFi)- eduroam

Wireless network eduroam is available at all KTH campus as well as at Stockholm public libraries,
central station, Arlanda- airport and other universities in Sweden and abroad, www.eduroam.org.
1. Configure eduroam by following instructions on the linked page,
http://www.lan.kth.se/eduroam/
2. Log on to eduroam using your KTH account@kth.se and Network Secret. The Network
Secret is the password for eduroam and it is different from you KTH account password.

Email

Sign in to webmail.kth.se with your KTH account and password.

Your email box size is limited to 2 GB and will not be extended if the limit is exceeded.
Save the attached file, first of all, if you intend to continue working and editing it.

Malicious email and phishing

Never replay an email that requests your user name and password!

If an email includes links that urges you to klick and login, examin the link and check if the adress link
is genuin. It likely a faked page in order to steel (phishing) your login and password and abuse you
email for spam.

Rules in computer rooms
For your own security and safety always carry your access card and valid ID card

Never let people you dont know into the computer rooms.

It is prohibited to use file sharing software, download Copyright, offending or illegal material.

Log on to a computer
Log on using your KTH account (without @kth.se) and password.

Automatical computer lock

If a computer is left inactive for more than 15 min it will
automatically lock.

Automatical computer Log off

When the computer is locked for more than 30min, you will be
automatically loged off.

Automatical computer restart

All computers in the computer rooms restart automatically every
morning at 2 am.

When you are loged on to a computer

After a successful login you will be able to access file servers,
software installed on that computer and KTH printing system.

Home directory
Home personal home directory H:\ is your personal area on the file server where you can save your
files.

Your home directory, H:\, is limited to 2 GB.

Save your files in your home directory H:\.

Create a catalogue structure and save files with convenient names to

facilitate locating your files in the future.

Roaming Profile
Roaming profile H:\Appdata is located in your home directory and it is limited to 200 MB.

Desktop settings and application settings are saved in your roaming profile, H:\Appdata.

Keep your Roaming profile clean. Avoid saving files to Desktop, My Documents or Downloads
Create a convenient directory structure on H:\ to save and arrange your files.

Project Area
Group project P:\ area is a common space dedicated for group work.

You have to apply for access by sending email to it-suppport@kth.se.

Remote access to Home directory and Group Project area
To access your H:\ and P:\ directories remotely use the following link https://home.ug.kth.se and your
log in credentials at KTH.

KTH Print
The printing queue is KTH Print. Use your access card, to collect your printouts. You are able to collect
your print outs at any printer of KTH Print system.

Access Card

Your access card allows you to enter computer rooms and study
rooms and to get out your print outs.

You will get an access card and a 4 digits pin code from your
programme coordinator.

You will need the pin code to be able to enter buildings during
evenings, weekends and holidays.

If you lose the card please contact KTH IT-Support, it-

support@kth.se during opening hours, or call the KTHs alarm
phone number after working hours +46 (0) 8 790 7700.

Printing

KTH gives each student 200 SEK credit quotas twice a year on July the first and January the first.

Detailed information is available at https://www.kth.se/en/student/kth-it-support/on-

campus/printing.

Before you print, check spelling, preview your document and check printer status.

Connect you Access card to your KTH Printing account

Make sure you have your logon credentials (KTH account and
password) and your KTH access card available.
Register your access card by swiping it through the access card
reader on a printer.

Log in with your KTH account and password on

the printer display to connect your access card
with your KTH printing account.

Log out to protect your KTH account.

Software

KTH Software Download allows you to download software, licenses as well as setup instructions to be
installed on a private computer during your studies at KTH.

Microsoft Office 365

Microsoft Office 365 service is available to all active students at KTH. Microsoft Office 365 includes
access to the MS Office suite.

Microsoft Imagine Premium

This service allows students and staff at KTH to try almost all Microsoft software for free. The condition
is that the software is used for non-commercial, training or testing purposes.

KTH Software Download

It is a complement to the computer lab rooms where KTH students have access to download software
during their studies at KTH.
