Dragi putnici,
ast mi je da vam predstavim prvi broj ma-
gazina Terminal, koji je danas u vaim ru-
kama zahvaljujui modernijoj poslovnoj
politici u prethodnom periodu i ostvarenim izu-
zetnim rezultatima.
Aerodrom Nikola Tesla Beograd postavio je ap-
solutni rekord po broju putnika koji su u prethod-
noj godini koristili nae usluge. Osvojili smo broj-
ne nagrade, ponovo otpoeli sa prekookeanskim
letovima i ostvarili saradnju sa aerodromima u ze-
mlji i regionu.
Kako bismo unapredili nivo usluge koju pru-
amo i kako bismo putnicima ulepali trenutke
provedene na aerodromu, upustili smo se u no-
ve poduhvate. Poeli smo sa ureenjem Termi-
nala 1, koji je posle mnogo godina zasijao no-
vim sjajem. Da bismo unapredili komfor putni-
ka, nabavili smo i nove autobuse za prevoz po
platformi.
U elji da pretvorimo aerodrom u mesto susre-
ta i kulturnih deavanja, organizovali smo izlobe
i kulturne dogaaje. Kako bismo se dodatno pri-
bliili putnicima i vreme koje provode ekajui let
uinili im zanimljivijim, pokrenuli smo i ovaj maga-
zin. Osim vanih informacija u vezi sa radom ae-
rodroma i osnovnih podataka o redu letenja, cilj
ovog asopisa je da svim naim putnicima skre-
ne panju na turistike potencijale Srbije, da im
nai obiaji probude matu, da ih inspiriu prirod-
ne lepote, zaintrigiraju misli naih velikana i odu-
eve dela lokalnih umetnika.
Tesla, kako su nas mnogi krstili, postao je
prepoznatljiv u regionu, smatraju nas zvezdom u
usponu. Ipak, dosadanji napredak samo je pr-
vi korak ka budunosti koja je pred nama. Pro-
gnoze pokazuju da bismo u naredne dve dece-
nije mogli imati 20 miliona putnika godinje, to
je etiri puta vie nego sada. Zbog toga e beo-
gradski aerodrom u godinama koje slede biti ve-
liko gradilite. Ali to me ne brine, jer sam okruen
strunjacima koji svoj posao vole, a to je najva-
niji recept za uspeh.
Poslednjih godina Aerodrom Nikola Tesla Be-
ograd ponovo zauzima zasluenu lidersku pozi-
ciju u regionu. Nae ambicije se ovde ne zausta-
vljaju, ve nam je cilj da postanemo evropsko va-
zduhoplovno vorite.

In order to upgrade our service and to make the
moments spent in the airport more pleasant, we
embarked on new business ventures.
We started renovation of Terminal 1 that nally
gained a fresh new look after many years. In order
to enhance comfort for passengers, we even obtai-
ned new buses for transport through the platform.
Wishing to turn the airport into a meeting point and

a place of dierent happenings, we organized exhi-
bitions and cultural events. This magazine was also
launched because we wanted to get closer to pas-
sengers and to make the time they spend waiting for 7

mation relating to the operations of airport and basic
information on ight schedule, the aim of this maga-
zine is to draw attention of our passengers to touri-

st potentials of Serbia, to revive their imagination by
our tradition, to inspire them with natural beauties, to
intrigue them with thoughts of our luminaries and to
impress them with works of local artists.
Tesla as we are called by many, became reco-
gnizable in the region and we are considered to be
a rising star. Still, recent achievements are just the
rst step towards the future ahead of us. Accordi-
ng to some predictions, in the next two decades we
could reach the number of 20 million passengers
per year which is four times more than at the mo-
ment. That is the reason why the Belgrade airpo-
rt will become a great construction site in the yea-
rs to come. But that doesnt worry me, because I
am surrounded by professionals that love their job
and that are the most important ingredient in the
recipe for success.
Over the last years, Belgrade Nikola Tesla Airport
resumed the deserved leading position in the region.
Our ambitions do not stop at that point, but we inte-
nd to become the European airline hub.

izija Vlade Srbije je da naa zemlja postane tranzitno vo-
rite regiona i prvi izbor investitora koji ele da ulau u
ovaj deo Evrope. Ubrzani razvoj Aerodroma Nikola Te-
sla Beograd u proteklih nekoliko godina ne samo da potvruje
ispravnost nae vizije ve pokazuje i brzinu kojom se pribliava-
mo ostvarenju cilja.
Kroz Aerodrom Nikola Tesla Beograd u 2016. prolo je 4,92
miliona putnika, gotovo 1,4 miliona putnika vie nego tri godi-
ne ranije. Trend rasta nastavljen je i ove godine - u januaru 2017.

Kako bi beogradski aerodrom mogao
da prati rast broja putnika i uvoenje novih
linija, uz podrku Vlade Srbije, za prethod-

ge Aerodroma Nikola Tesla Beograd ulo-
eno je oko etiri milijarde dinara.

te nacionalnog avio-prevoznika Er Srbije,
koji je u 2016. zabeleio treu godinu rasta
poslovanja i prevezao 2,62 miliona putnika.
Uvoenjem direktnog leta za Njujork pro-
le godine, kao jedne od 44 destinacije na
koje leti Er Srbija, doprinelo je boljem po-
zicioniranju aerodroma, budui da je time
postao jedini aerodrom u regionu sa direk-
tnom linijom za Ameriku. Uvoenjem direk-
tnog leta za Peking, o kojem razgovaramo
sa kineskim partnerima, Srbija bi se name-
tnula i kao potencijalno tranzitno vorite
regiona i u vazdunom saobraaju.
Srbija je po standardima u vazdunom
saobraaju ve deo EU, a njegov dalji razvoj vaan je i zbog dru-
gih privrednih grana, pre svega turizma. U 2016. godini prihod
Srbije od turizma premaio je milijardu evra. Daljim radom na
pozicioniranju Srbije kao turistike destinacije u narednih pet
godina taj prihod mogao bi da dostigne i dve milijarde evra go-
dinje. Uspean i moderan aerodrom ini da Srbija bude blia
stranim turistima, ali i poslovnim ljudima, i prenosi sliku o naoj
zemlji kao dobrom domainu svim svojim gostima.

ision of the Government of the Republic of Serbia is for our coun-
try to become a transit hub of the region and the rst choice of in-
vestors that want to put in their capital in this part of Europe. Not
only that the increased development of the Belgrade Nikola Tesla Airpo-
rt during last few years conrms accuracy of our vision, but it also demo-
nstrates the pace in which we are approaching achievement of our goal.
During 2016, 4.92 million passengers passed through the Belgrade Ni-
kola Tesla Airport which is almost 1.4 million passengers more than three
years earlier. Stable growth trend continued this year as well - in Janua-
ry of 2017, Belgrade airport served 13 percent passengers more than in
the same month last year.
During the last two and a half years, wi-
th the support of the Government of Serbia,
around 4 billion dinars have been allocated
for modernization, expanding of capacities
and upgrading of service quality in order to
enable Belgrade Nikola Tesla Airport to keep
up with the increasing number of passengers
and launching of new destinations.
Part of that investment cycle was also the
reconstruction of Terminal 1 after which our
main airport will be completely ready for the
start of new summer season. After the reco-
nstruction of Terminal 1, until the 1st of May,
the capacity of Belgrade Nikola Tesla Airpo-
rt will be increased from ve to seven million
tant to stress that airport Nikola Tesla reali-
zes this investment from its own resources
i.e. from companys prot, as well as that the
works are being carried out by domestic co-
nstruction companies.
The increase of number of passengers is in
direct correlation with good results achieved
by national airline Air Serbia that in 2016 ma-
de record business results for the third year
in a row and served 2.62 million passengers. It
culminated with launch of direct ight to New
York last year, as one of 44 destinations that
Air Serbia serves and thus contributed to be-
tter positioning of airport Nikola Tesla, since it
became the only airport from Southeast Eu-
rope to oer transatlantic ights to the Uni-
ted States. By introducing the direct ight to
Beijing that we are considering with our Chi-
nese partners, Serbia would assume leader-
ship in air trac as well, as a potential transit
hub of the region.
According to standards in air trac, Ser-
bia is already a part of EU and its further development is important for ot-
her industries as well, primarily for tourism. In 2016 Serbias total income
of tourism exceeded the amount of billion euros. By investing further ef-
fort on positioning of Serbia as a tourist destination within next ve yea-
rs that income could even amount to two billion euros per year. Success-
ful and modern airport Nikola Tesla would in many ways contribute to the
achievement of that goal, because it brings Serbia closer to foreign tou-
rists, but also to businessmen and spreads the word that our country is a
good host to all of its guests.

Aerodrom Nikola Tesla Beograd ve treu godinu zaredom zauzima peto
mesto meu najboljim aerodromima u istonoj Evropi.
Nagradu je u Amsterdamu aerodromu dodelila agencija Skytrax, specija-
lizovana za rejting u vazdunom saobraaju. Izbor je napravljen na osno-

Nikola Tesla fth in Eastern Europe
Its the third year in a row that Belgrade Nikola Tesla Airport occupies the
5th position among the best airports in Eastern Europe.
Skytrax agency specialized in rating of air trafc awarded this prize to
the Belgrade Airport in Amsterdam. Selection was made on the basis of
13.82 million online questionnaires in which passengers evaluated 550
airports worldwide. These awards are among the most prestigious in the
eld of aviation industry. The focus of survey is customer satisfaction i.e.
comfort and pleasure of travelers with different segments of airport ser-
vices - from the moment of arrival at the airport until boarding the plane.

Beth Hart, one of the best blues-rock singers of to-
day, will perform at the Hall of Sports on 11th of
November 2017. Although her rst albums were
issued in the early nineties, she attracted public at-
tention in 1999 with a single LA Song, after whi-
ch her career took an upward course.
Two years ago she released the album Better
Than Home which immediately after issuing rea-
ched the rst place on iTunes blues list and got to
the 4th place on overall MOJO list of albums of the
year.

je je prisustvo za proces brend iranja ne
minovno.
Kakvo je stanje sa seoskim turiz
mom u Srbiji? Da li je to i dalje neis
korien potencijal?
- Srbija je prepoznala ruralni turizam
kao jedan od potencijala za unapree
nje turistikog prometa. To potvruje i no
va strategija razvoja turizma, u kojoj je ru
ralni turizam ponovo svrstan u 11 priorite
tnih turistikih proizvoda za nas. Srbija je
poznata po gostoprimstvu, to se najbo

We are always trying to give something that is part
of our tradition and as such, properly represents
our country. Sometimes its something from our

served peppers), jams, homemade juices and so
metimes, authentic products of ancient crafts,
such as Pirot rug. Books with motifs of Serbian cu
lture, tradition and abundant tourist offer are also
among the essential gifts.

about the results he would be satisfied
with by the end of this year.

The fact is that Novak Djokovic is

has priceless emotional value. This is
a long term process and it demands
synergy of private and public sector,
as well as of citizens and media who

summer stage in Vrnjacka Banja. We
will also bring to an end a tourist co
mplex near the Avala Tower. Resour
ces are allocated for the reconstruc
tion of the History Museum of Yugosla
via which is the most visited museum in
the country.
Is there a country that we can
look up to or a role model that we
could follow in order to take touri
sm in Serbia to a higher level?
First of all, in order to achieve any
result we must be aware of our own
greatness, but without being biased.
We often overestimate ourselves. We
can hardly compete with the Medite
rranean countries, but we should cer
tainly be in the running with other cou
ntries that have the same tourist re
sources as we do. Those are, for exa
mple, Slovakia, Romania and Hungary.
We will be the second or third choi
ce destination for a for vacation du
ring the year in comparison to coun
tries of the sea and sand. Therefore,
we have to brand Serbia as a tourist
destination, since we are still not re
cogn ized well enough and, more or le
ss, majority of tourists that come here,
almost 50 percent of them, visit only
Belg
rade.
Top five destinations in Serbia
that you would recommend to so
meone who visits our country for
the first time?
Apart from the destinations that are
very well known, I would also recom
mend the whole flow of river Danube
that is at one point a perfect combina
tion of natural beauty and historic he
ritage, pleasure and gastronomy. Ar

as well as Viminacium that is an ar

t is a misconception that organic
fruits and vegetables are wormy,
small, stunted and gnarled and only
one visit to specialized markets or or
ganic plantations is suf fi cient to convi
nce customers otherwise.
A few years ago in Serbia there were
about 300 producers of organic food
and now even 2.000. Organic food is
cultivated in Serb ia on 15.000 hect a
res, and almost everything that is pro
duced is exported. The biggest buye
rs are from Germany, USA, Netherlan
ds, Belg ium, Austria and Poland and
they are mostly interested in frozen ra
spberries and blackberries, fresh ap
ples, dried fruit, cherry and quince pu
ree. Each organic product must have a
certificate and a national logo.

Nikica Marinkovic graduated from
the Faculty of Agriculture in Novi Sad.
At first he was cult ivating strawberries,
and since last year, he is one of the ow
ners of site Zelenoo that deals with sa
le and delivery of organic food on the
Internet. As he hims elf used to be a fa
rmer, he already experienced all the
problems that farmers face.
- I wanted to connect producers with
buyers. Thats how the idea for this co
mpany emerged. There is more than
20 producers of organic and local food
on the site, as well as images of their
households, so that customers can see
from whom exactly do they buy produ
cts - says Marinkovic.
He explains that organic products ha
ve recently been quite in demand, al
though they are at an average of 30

- Inicijativa je krenula pre nego to

zdunom saobraaju, koji je poetkom marta odran
u Madridu, Kontrola letenja Srbije i Crne Gore (SM
ATSA) dobila je nagradu Evropske komisije za kon
cept slobodne zone leta. Nagradu je Radojici Rova
ninu, prvom oveku SMATSA, uruila evropska ko
mesarka za vazduni saobraaj Violeta Bulc.

derniji multislajsni skener koji je izbacio
iz upotrebe invanzivne metode za utvr
ivanje stanja krvnih sudova, vitalnih or
gana i srca. Poeo je da radi i od Ista
nbula do Bea takvog ureaja nema.

How was the idea for this proje
ct born?
The initiative was started before I ca
me to SMATSA, but it was only in 2014
that we started to work intensivelly on
it. The following year in April we imple
mented free zone flight, but only by ni
ght. It took us a little while to see how
it functions during the night when there
is less traf fi c and see whether we will
be able to carry it out during the day as
well when there is a large number of ai
rcrafts in the sky.

SMATSA is working on?

begin to build new control tower that wi
ll be the trademark of the airport, and
we are working on the alternative ver
sion of air traf fi c control in Nis. If, God
forbid, a malfunction happens here, Ni
automatically takes over and continues
to perform traf fi c control as if nothing
happened. With two radars that should
be operational within the next two yea
rs, we are confident that as far as tec
hnological and expert potential is con
cerned, we will manage to maintain one

enter Serbia, Montenegro, Bosnia and
Herzegovina and Croatia have only one
entry and one exit point, while within
that airspace there are no boundaries.
Until recently, pilots had points to whi
ch planes had to fly which significantly
prolonged flights and now they choo
se the shortest route by themselves
and that considerably shortens dura
tion of flight, reduces fuel consumption,
pollution and ultimately provides chea
per transport for passengers. This has
brought a general benefit.
Are there any plans for its expan
sion?
We have recently signed the Coopera

Europe, and beyond.
Humanitarian work is also impor
tant to you.
Many turn to us and we try to provi
de money for as many people as pos
sible. By reading the newspapers I lear
ned how much money we spend on se
nding patients to the gamma knife trea
tment abroad and then I came up with
the idea to acquire one for Serbia. No
one in the Balkans has this type of ga
mma knife and last year it was used
for treatment of 775 patients. It alrea
dy paid off its value. SMATSA bought

just arrived from a vacation are persistently trying to

squeeze a couple of heavy suitcases into a small tru
nk. They can barely lift them and then put them down.
- Its impossible, it doesnt fit - they comment.
- There are no guys to help us, but we dont need
them anyway - they bandy a remark out of breath and
after exhausting struggle with luggage, that lasted for
couple of minutes, successfully leave with it.
Squeaking of packed suitcases wheels in front of
the airport entrance announce that their owners ar
rive on time.
The ground floor is reserved for the nervous ones
- those who cannot wait to go through passport con
trol, those that are flying for the first time or ones that
simply dont have the stomach for travel.

At the airport it feels like home

- We travel abroad all the time, usually on business - a busy
couple tells us. Their plugged tablets and laptops that they
arent setting aside prove that they have their hands full.
No need for bursting of emotions, they say, and add that at
the airport they feel like at home.
- Traveling by plane is part of our everyday life. We are
used to it, because every now and then an urgent business
trip comes up - says busy traveling couple that walks down
the hall of Belgrade Nikola Tesla Airport and enters their
gate for who knows which time during this month.

- Svaki as putujemo za inostranstvo, uglavnom slu
beno - govori nam uurbani brani par. A da ima
ju pune ruke posla, najbolje pokazuju ukljueni ta
bleti i laptopovi, od kojih se ne odvajaju. Emocijama
nema mesta, a na aerodromu se, kau, oseaju kao
kod kue.
- Putovanje avionom za nas je svakodnevica. Navi
kli smo, jer malo-malo pa iskrsne hitan slubeni put

Situation is not any less dramatic on international

arrivals in the basement. Thirty people are tapping
their toes nervously, waiting for the doors to open
and at the same time follow the information on the
board that announces arrivals.
- The plane landed, why they arent here already -
middle-aged woman comm ents while walking up and
down. She is waiting for her daughter that she hasnt
seen since last Easter to arrive from London.
A minute later, she rushed to the door behind whi
ch the young girl and young man turned up. She didnt
manage to control emotions although she intended
to and long embraces, laughter and tears followed.

time by reading books and newspapers and many
use that time to buy another souvenir as a memento
or gifts before they hear announcement over the pu
blic address system that its the last call for the flig
ht to Stuttgart, Zurich... Young people, as everywhe
re in the world, firs t ask for the password for the wi
reless internet and then immerse in surfi ng social ne
tworks and messaging.
Foreigners that go home after holidays spent in Se
rbia are fascinated with the beauties they have seen Aerodrom Nikola Tesla
and promise to come back.

ajke zaista postoje, a vojvoanska ravnica
sa svojim zamkovima ivi je dokaz koji veko
vima to moe i da potvrdi. Plodna Vojvodina
na severu nae zemlje ne samo da je bogata itom,
njivama i oranicama ve se njeno bogatstvo ogle
da i u dvorcima - kojih samo na teritoriji ove pokra
jine ima 67! Porodice koje su gradile ove velelepne
graevine bile su izuzetno imune, a svaki od zam
kova u svojim zidinama krije priu i sa sobom nosi
legende koje se meu metanima prepriavaju de
cenijama i vekovima. Zamkovi u Vojvodini uvaju u
svom enterijeru ljubavne prie, balove, patnje, ali i
matanja i ambicije onih koji su u njima proveli ivot.
Iako su mnoge graevine od kojih bi nekada za
stajao dah danas zatvorene za posetioce, postoje i
one koje su dostojanstveno stajale i prkosile vreme
nu, te predstavljaju veliko kulturn
o bogatstvo Srbije.
Neki od najlepih dvoraca na severu zemlje su Fan
tast u Beeju, Katel u Eki, ali i oni u Novom Beeju
i Novom Kneevcu.

Fantast - smisao ivota Bogdana Dunerskog

Dvorac Fantast, iz pregledne ravnice u kojoj se nala

zi, izdvaja se svojim tornjem i kulama izgraenim u sti
lu neogotike, to mu daje bajk ovit izgled. Nestvaran za

gleske i francuske. Posetioci ovog mesta, zbog kojeg

snegom pokrivene ravnice. Fantast je sagradio Bogdan

Dunerski, pripadn ik najbogatije porodice u Vojvodini
s kraja 19. i poetka 20. veka. Dun erski je ivot posve
tio ovom zamku, pretvarajui svoju matu u realnost.

Katel - tu je svirao i Franc List
Na 60 kilometara severno od prestonice i svega
sedam od Zrenjanina, u selu Eka, ponosno stoji gla
murozni dvorac Katel, graen u engleskom stilu u
periodu od 1816. do 1820. godine.
Dvorac je podigla porodica Lazar, a na sveanom
otvaranju dvorca tog davnog 29. avgusta 1820. svi
rao je uveni Franc List. Od devedesetih godina 20.
veka dvorac Katel nalazi se pod zatitom Zavoda za
spomenike kulture.
Zamak zagasito crvene boje, koji okruuju fontana
i park, raspolae sa 38 soba i sedam apartm ana koji
su meavina modernog i srednjovekovnog dizajna. U
dvorcu koji gostima prua intimnu atmosferu, mir i po
gled na velelepni park, koji okruuje celokupno zdanje,
postoji mogunost noenja, ali i organizovanja svea
nih proslava i svadbi, kao i romantinih vikenda za dvoje.
Sokolac - imanje vraeno pucnjem iz pitolja
Dvorac je izgradio Lazar Dunerski u poslednjim
decenijama 19. veka, a u miraz ga je dobila Emilija Iva
novi, njegova erka. Danas dvorac ima uvara jer se u njemu na
lazi dosta originalnih stvari iz doba dok je imanjem upravljala poro
dica Dunerski. Nalazi se u privatnom vlasnitvu i moe se pose
titi uz prethodnu najavu. Dvorac je proglaen za spomenik kultu
re 2001. godine.
Legenda kae da je vlasnik dvorca Lazar Dunerski bio dobar
kockar, ali je ipak jednog dana na kartama izgubio i dvorac i ima
nje oko njega. Njegov protivnik mu je ponudio da vrati celo imanje
samo jednim pucnjem iz pitolja. Lazar je morao da pogodi jabuku
na glavi svoje supruge. Uprkos riziku, prihvatio je ponudu. Nania
nio je, zadrao dah i opalio. Ruka mu nije zadrhtala i pogodio je ja
buku, ime je povratio i imanje i dvorac.
Kapetanovo - legenda o plavom pramenu
Dvorac je sagradio ondanji upan Botka Bela 1904. godine.
Osnovna koncepcija zgrade odreena je idejom srednjovekovnog
zamka. Dvorac Kapetanovo se nalazi u ataru van svakog mesta na
putu Zrenjanin-Vrac u blizini mesta Stari Lec. Ima dva ulaza, a oko
njega je bio prostran park sa fontanom. Dvorac je na licitaciji 1938.
kupio bogati trgovac Franc Maj za miraz erki, koja ga je udajom
donela poslednjem predratnom vlasniku Milanu Kapetanovu, po ko
me i danas nosi ime.

airy tales really exist and Vojvodina plain with
its castles is a living proof which confirms that
for centuries that passed. Not only that the fe
rtile plains of Vojvodina in the north of our country are
full of cornfields, tilled and ploughed fields, but its ric
hes can also be perceived in castles and only on the
territory of this autonomous province of Serbia there
are 67 of them! Families that built these magnificent
buildings were extremely wealthy and each castle hi
des a story within its walls as well as legends that are
recounted among locals for decades and centuries.
Castles in Vojvodina preserve love stories, balls, su
ffering in their interior, as well as dreams and ambitio
ns of those that had spent their life in them.
Many of those buildings are nowadays closed for
visitors, although they were once breathtaking, but
there are some that proudly stood and defied time
and as such represent enourmous cultural wealth of
Serbia. Some of the most beautiful castles in the no
rth are Castle Fantast in Beej, Katel Castle in E rated in a mixture of modern and medieval design. In

Fantast - The meaning of Bogdan Dundjerskis life
The Fantast castle stands out of the descriptive
plain with its tower and turrets built in Gothic Revi
val style which gives it a fairytale look. Dreamlike ca
stle and chapel are surrounded with park arranged
in accordance with the style of English and French
gardens. Visitors of this place, because of which you
will start to believe in fairytales, may learn how to ri
de within horse stable that covers half of the esta
te, take a ride in a carriage during the summer or on
a sleigh during winter time while enjoying a wonder
ful scenery of plain covered with snow. Fantast was
built by Bogdan Dundjerski, a member of the weal
thiest family in Vojvodina at the end of the 19th and
the beginning of the 20th century. Dundjerski dedi
cated his life to this castle, thus transforming his fan
tasy into reality.

tural Monuments.

nds the whole edifice, there is a possibility of overni

Sokolac - Estate earned with dif
fi culty, reclaimed
with one single shot
Castle was built by Lazar Dundjerski in the last
decades of 19th century and was given as dowry
to his daughter Emilija Ivanovic. Today this castle
has a guard, because there is still a lot of original
things from the period when the estate was run by
Dundjerski family in it. It is now a private property
and visit is possible if previously announced. The
castle was declared a cultural monument in 2001.

tka gubi zamak, polila benzinom i zapalila, a da od
nje nije ostao ni pepeo, ve samo pramen plave ko-
se koji je poput venanice smrti dugo obletao oko
zamka. Prema legendi, svakog 2. avgusta, na Sve-
tog Iliju, nou se pojavljuje u jednoj od soba zamka
senka ene sa dugom plavom kosom koja gleda u
banatsku ravnicu.
Maldegem - dom belgijskog grofa
Velelepni zamak izgraen je 1910. u tadanjoj tu-
rskoj Kanjii, dananjem Novom Kneevcu, za gro-
fovsku porodicu Maldegem, poreklom iz Belgije.
Grof Karlo Maldegem, unuk Georgine Bajer, koja
je i zapoela gradnju dvorca 1904. godine, nakon
kolovanja u inostranstvu i smrti svoje bake, odlu-
io je da ivi na dvoru. Dobar deo ivota proveo je
pomaui Srbima i Maarima da preive gladne rat-
ne godine.
Po sle Dru gog svet skog rata, u dvorcu je ne ko
vre me bi la bo l ni ca, pa inte r nat, uprava po li ci je i
banka. Danas se u njemu nalazi Narodna bibliote-
ka Branislav Nui i deo Narodnog muzeja Kiki-
nde, a zgrada je u izuzetno dobrom stanju. Dvorac
je kulturno dobro od velikog znaaja i otvoren je
za posetioce.
Porodica Maldegem diila se crvenom paprikom,
po kojoj je i danas Novi Kneevac poznat.
Dundjerski, was a good gambler, but still, one day, he
lost the castle and the whole estate while gambling. His
opponent oered him to reclaim the whole estate with
only one shot from his pistol. He had to aim at the apple
placed on his wifes head and in spite of the risk, he ac-
cepted the oer. He aimed, kept his breath and red a
gun. His hand did not shiver and he shot the apple on his
wifes head, thus reclaiming the estate and the castle.

Kapetanovo - The legend of a lock of blond hair
The castle was built by the county prefect Botka
Bela in 1904. He wanted to create a residence that
would resemble a medieval castle as the basic con-
cept of the building. The Castle Kapetanovo is lo-
cated in the area outside of the town along the road
Zrenjanin -Vrac nearby small village of Stari Lec. It
has two entrances, and it was once surrounded by a
spacious park with a fountain. The castle was sold in
an auction in 1938 to a wealthy merchant Franz May.
He purchased this property for his daughters dow-
ry. After the wedding, the property was inherited by
the last pre-war owner Milan Kapetanov and the ca-
stle was named after him.
The legend says that his wife was so devastated
that Botka lost the castle, she climbed to the highe-
st tower of Kapetanovo, poured gasoline on herse-
lf and burned to death. It was said that not even as-
Magnicent castle was built in 1910 in, in those da-
ys Turkish town Kanjia and nowadays Novi Knee-
vac, for the noble family Maldegem that originated
from Belgium.
Count Karl Maldegem, grandson of Georgina Beyer
that started building this castle in 1904, after nishi-
ng his education abroad and the death of his grand-
mother decided to live in it. Signicant part of his life
he spent helping Serbs and Hungarians during hard
war years full of hunger and poverty.
After the World War II, there was a hospital for a
while in the castle, and then boarding school, poli-
ce headquarters and a bank. Today a national library
Branislav Nui is at the castle, as well as part of the
National museum of Kikinda. The building is in extre-
mely good condition. The castle is declared a cultural
good of high importance and it is opened for visitors.
Novi Kneevac is still very well known by red pep-
per that family Maldegem was proud of.

number of passengers and flights rise,
the airport grows as well - the old thin
gs are getting renovated and the new
ones are being built.
Everything started in 1958, when the
first construction works of the Belgra
de airport began.
The foundations of airfield were set
in 1960 and two years later, the termi
nal was finally finished. In the sixties,
Terminal 1 was a modern construction
that during the next two decades was
supporting the entire air traf fi c by itse
lf. It was only in 1981 that the new bui
lding, which was intended for interna
tional flights, was erected.
Reconstruction after 53 years
Terminal 1 was waiting for exactly 53
years for a full-scale reconstruction.
The first floor already gained a fresh
new look and by the beginning of sum
mer season scaffolding would disap
pear from the ground floor as well. Re
novated first floor was put into servi
ce in 2015, when first passengers tried
out the new gateway through this part
of airport build
ing. At that moment, all
those that were flying from Belgrade
gained one additional border crossi
ng with customs authorities and four
new passport control channels. With
this reconstruction, a direct access
to waiting rooms and finger piers was
enabled which significantly shortened
the motion length through the airport
building and also simplified orientation
in it. Commercial facilities were expan
ded, so that the commercial offer inte
nded for passengers was expanded
too. Part of the waiting area was deco
rated as a small room intended for pa
rents with small children and therefore
equipped with comfortable sofa and a
few toys that would help children pass
the time while waiting for their flight.
Now it is turn for the ground floor to
be modernized and the new, more up
to date, space should upgrade the se
rvices that the airp ort provides.

Serbia by plane, is adaptation of air
port roof to aircraft viewing area. The
idea is that the roof should be turned
into an open garden with 200 seats
and binoculars for watching planes.

Kada emo gledati neto novo u do
maim pozoritima?
- Trenutno radim u novosadskom
pozoritu sa maarskim glumcima
jedan fantastian roman Petera Este
rhazija, Ispravljeno izdanje, a on
da na jesen, nadam se, poinjem no
vu predstavu u Beogradu. Ali moda
je opet bolje saekati prvu probu i ni
ta unapred ne govoriti.

uspehom reira komade koji bude sve
st. Njegovom zaslugom oivela je Vi
la Stankovi u ortanovcima, gde e

ekspir, zamiljen kao mesto susreta
potovalaca dela velikog pisca i novih
pozorinih tendencija u itanju njego
vih drama. Na ugledni reditelj je pono
san na injenicu da se tokom prethod
nih godina festivalska publika profilisala
i goste koji su do bajkovitog zdanja kraj
Dunava stizali iz Irana, SAD, Finske, Ve
like Britanije, Gruzije, Grke...
- esto i s pravom konstatujemo ka
ko su kriza i tranzicija unitile srednju
klasu u Srbiji. Meutim, svake godine
na Festivalu ekspir vidim sve vie pro
fesora, pisaca, slikara, izdavaa... Upra
vo ljude koji su se, zahvaljujui ovoj ne
srenoj novoj stvarnosti, povukli, utiali,
postali nevidljivi. Oni su oigledno ovde
pronali neto za sebe - kae reditelj na
poetku razgovora za Terminal.
New play this autumn
When well see something new in our
theaters?
- At the moment I am working on a
fantastic novel by Peter Esterhazy
Revised edition in the theatre in Novi
Sad with Hungarian actors. Then in
autumn, hopefully, Ill start working on a
new play in Belgrade. But, again, maybe
its better to wait till the first rehearsal
and not say anything in advance.

ver the last few years, Nikita Milivojevi
lives and works en route Belgrade - Athens,
where he is equally successful in directing
theatre plays that awaken consciousness. It was his
merit that that Villa Stankovic in Cortanovci was enliv-
ened. It became attractive cultural and touristic ven-
ue where this summer, for the fourth time, the Shake-
speare Festival would take place.
The main idea of the festival was to be the place
of encounter of admirers of the worlds preeminent
dramatist and his work, as well as a place where new
theatrical tendencies in interpretation of his plays
would be presented. Our respectable director is
proud of the fact that during previous years the fes-
tival audience defined itself and also of the guests
that reached the fairytale mansion on the Danube riv-
er bank from Iran, USA, Finland, Great Britain, Geor-
gia or Greece
- We often rightfully conclude that crises and tran-
sition destroyed the middle class in Serbia. Howev-
er, each year on Shakespeare Festival I see more and
more professors, writers, painters, publishersRight
those people that, thanks to this miserable reality,
withdrew, became silent and invisible. They obviously
found something for themselves here - director says
at the beginning of the interview for the Terminal.

Do Festivala ekspir ima jo neko
liko meseci, ali vi ste sigurno ve u
jeku priprema?
- Moda e zvuati preterano, ali mo
je iskustvo je takvo da im zavrite je
dan festival, ve sutradan morate da
ponete da pripremate sledei. To zna
i da je program za ovogodinji Festi
val ekspir odavno spreman, ali bojim
se da je ipak rano najavljivati predsta
ve i goste. Program je, u stvari, najlak
i deo posla. Sve ono to podrazumeva
finansiranje, pribavljanje sredstava, nei
zvesnost da li e uopte i kada da sti
gnu... to je avantura od koje sve zavisi i
tu uvek moe neto da iznenadi. Prole
godine smo s Bitefom najavljivali Bu
ru kao festivalsku koprodukciju i ini
lo se da u godini ekspira nema nita
normalnije nego njegov komad prikaza
ti na festivalu, ali je onda ispalo da ipak
nismo dobili novac.
Kakve su okolnosti ove godine?
- Mnogo raznih interesa pomea se
kada je u pitanju raspodela budeta.
Okolnosti su ove godine, u stvari, ma
nje-vie iste u smislu da je uvek neto

drugo vanije, pa se pojavi nekakav
cajtnot. Nikakav dodatni procenat ne
moe preko noi tu neto da promeni.

Zbog ega ste pozorini festi
val izneli iz grada i kako se to
pokazalo?
- Mislim da Festival ekspir od dru
gih domaih festivala razlikuje drugai-
ji doivljaj. Festival se odrava van gra
da, u predivnom, potpuno vanvremen
skom prostoru, s bajkovitim pogledom
na Dunav. Kako je za dosta posetilaca
festivala to prvi susret sa vilom, mnogi
odlue da dou ranije, ruaju na Duna
vu, proetaju i saznaju neto vie o me
stu, a onda uvee gledaju predstavu. S
druge strane, jedno naputeno i nepri
ekajui Godoa i dalje aktuelan
Postavili ste Majku Hrabrost u Solunu zbog zakljuka da je cen
tralni motiv, pohlepa, zapravo pria savremene Grke. Koji biste
komad reirali u Srbiji?
- Imajui u vidu istu ideju, rekao bih da je Majka Hrabrost sigu
rno odlian naslov i za na pozorini repertoar. Meutim, naslov
koji je ve dugo aktuelan, a bie sasvim sigurno i nadalje, jeste e
kajui Godoa.

ako tada budem uopte u prilici da mislim i govorim.
Ali ono to sigurno znam jeste da nikako ne bih eleo
da budem jedan od razoaranih, umornih ljudi koji su
na kraju shvatili da su potroili svoje vreme na pogre
- Prija mi da sam u Iniji. Taj pros
sve vie viam oko sebe.
Jesmo li nauili na sopstvenim grekama i
bolu koji smo pretrpeli?
- To je lekcija koju mi, oigledno, ne moemo da sa
vladamo. Kada kaem mi - mislim na svet. Pogledajte
samo ko ovaj svet vodi, u ijim je rukama. Mislim da
se tu kriju mnogi odgovori...
Jesmo li makar mi sami uspeli da prepo
znamo svoje mesto?
- Najduhovitiju opasku na tu temu uo sam pre ne
koliko godina kada sam radio predstavu u Makedoni
ji. Jedan prijatelj mi je rekao: Vidi, mi Makedonci bar
znamo da smo mali, - ali vi to ne znate. Vi Srbi nikako
da shvatite da ste i vi takoe mali.

Gde se najradije vraate?

nama i potrebom da mi je sve vani

mogu da provodim vreme tamo.
Plaite li se letenja i ta radi
te u tim trenucima?
- Ne, oboavam aerodrome. Avion
mi je i dalje omiljeno prevozno sred
stvo.
Zove li vas neki grad, ze
mlja... i zato?
- Ima gradova koje zaista volim ka
da me pozovu, a jedan od njih je
Njujork. Kada bih mogao svake go
dine provesti mesec dana tamo, to
bi bio pravi boji dar.
Anegdota sa nekog leta?
- Jednom sam na aerodromu u Mi
nhenu ekao presedanje i sreo Du
ana Makavejeva. Onda smo se za
priali, a kako Mak ume zaista zani
mljivo da pria o svemu i svaemu,
zakasnio sam na sledei let.

Festival Shakespeare, but you are
probably already in the phase of
intensive preparation for it?
- Maybe it will sound overstated,
but my experience is that the moment
you finish one festival, the next day you
must start preparing for the one that is
to come. That means that the program
for this year festival is already prepared,
but still I am afraid that its still early to
announce plays and guests. Program is,
in fact, the easiest part of the job. But
all the other things that imply financing,
securing resources, uncertainty about
whether they will be available and will
they be available on timethats the ad-
venture from which everything depends
and there always might be surprises.
Last year for Bitef Festival we started
to announce The Tempest as festival
coproduction and it seemed that in the
year of Shakespeare there was nothing
more normal than to present his play on
the festival But in spite of that, it came
off that we didnt get the money after all.
What are the circumstances this
year?
- Many different interests are conflicting
when it comes to allocation of budget fi-
nancing. The circumstances this year are
more or less the same, in the sense that
theres always something more important
and then some kind of deadline emerg-
es. No additional percentage of resources
could make a difference there over night.
Investing in culture is serious, long-term
and responsible process that should be
planned in advance, monitored and devel-
opedUnfortunately, for decades now, we
are condemned to short-term solutions
which everyone handles the way they can.
Why did you take theatrical festival
out of the city and how did that
turn out?
- I think that something that differen-
tiates Shakespeare Festival from other
domestic festivals is specific experience.
Festival takes place outside the city, in the

*You directed Mother Courage in Thessaloniki because you
concluded that the main motif - greed is actually the story of
contemporary Greece. Which piece would you direct in Serbia?
- Having the same idea in mind, I would say that Mother Courage
is most certainly excellent play for our repertory as well. However,
the play that runs here for a long time, is and will certainly remain
attractive - is Waiting for Godot.
wonderful, completely timeless space, with a fairytale
view on Danube. Since this is for many visitors the first
encounter with villa, many of them decide to come ear-
lier, have a lunch on the bank of Danube, take a walk and
learn something more about the place and then in the
evening they come to watch the play. On the other hand,
a deserted and almost invisible place became the focus
of interest and action when this festival enlivened. The
same happened with small local community.
Nineties shook you up and formed you as a man
and a director. In what light youll see the previous
17 years in some imaginary future moment?
- I am not sure that Ill have that answer not even in
20 years, provided that I am at that point still able to
think and speak. But one thing that I know for sure
is that there is no way I would like to be one of those
disappointed, tired people that realized in the end
that they had wasted their time in the wrong place,
among wrong people That is something I start to
perceive more often in my surroundings.
Did we learn something from our own mistakes
and pain that we had suffered?
- Thats the lesson that we are obviously not able to
grasp. When I say - we, I mean - the world. Just take a
look at who is leading this world, who laid hands on it.
I think that many answers are hidden there...
Did we at least manage to recognize our own
place?
- The wittiest remark on that subject I heard a cou-
ple of years ago while I was working on a play in
Macedonia. One friend told me: You see, we, Mace-
donians, at least know that we are small, but you still
dont know that. You, Serbs, you still dont realize that
you are small too.

- It pleases me to be in Indjija. I
consider that space to be my Itha-
ca. I suppose that it has some-
thing to do with aging and the
need to be closer to nature. I have
my own vineyard, woods and I am

- Once, on the airport in Munich,

sit flight, I met Duan Makavejev.
Then we got carried away, since
Mak really knew how to talk about
many things in a very interesting
way and I missed my next flight.

Duan Stojanevi skrenuo je panju na sebe kra
tkim videom Beograda. A Day in Belgrade, sni
mak sastavljen od 20.000 fotografija, do sada je
video milionski auditorijum iz celog sveta.
- Nedavno sam zavrio A Day in Serbia i nadam
se da e podjednako dobro proi i da e uticati na
promociju cele nae zemlje - kae on.

ada fotograf uini da predmet koji smo videli
milion puta izgleda drugaije tada on posta
je umetnik. Srps ki fotograf Duan Stojane
vi u tome je uspeo. On je zarobio najpoznatije svet
ske graevine u kapljicama vode. Bez fotoopa i bez
filtera.
U kapima ispred njegovog objektiva ogleda se arhi
tektura Barselone, Istanbula, Njujorka i Beograda. u
vena Sagrada familija u sanjivoj izmaglici, sva bajko
vitost i arobnost Plave damije, grandioznost jedne
od najviih zgrada Njujorka, magija osvetljenog Mos
ta na Adi u predveerje.

Prvu fotografiju ove vrste Duan je napravio pre 15

godina, kada je poeo da istrauje makrofotografiju.
- Fotografisao sam male stvari i insekte, a onda
sam doao na ideju da uradim neto drugaije. U po

- Istina, nije lako. Potrebni su posebni uslovi za rad,

zbog kojih ne moe sve to mi padn e na pamet da se
fotografie u kapljicama. Razoaram se, naravno, ka
da mi neka fotografija ne ispadn e kako sam zamislio,
ali s druge strane, zadovoljstvo je vee kada uspem
- objanjava on.
Projekat je nazvao Mikrokosmos kapljica jer ga
podsetio na neku drugaiju sferu i pers pektivu.
- Gledajui ove fotografije, moemo da se zapita
mo da li smo mali ili veliki i postoji li moda neto jo
vee i razvijenije od nas - smatra Duan.
Da bi na ovaj nain fotografisao Hram Svetog Sa
ve, stao je ispred njega, ali strogog uputstva za pra
vljenje ovih minijaturnih umetnikih dela nema i sve
zavisi od objekta.

Internet ga otkrio ajno da im pobolja zdravlje i unapredi kvalitet njiho

Logino, najvie je eksperimentisao u Beogradu, ali
je osim nae prestonice kroz kapi gledao Bars elonu,
Istanbul i Njujork, a nedavno je bio u hramovima An
gkora u Kambodi.
- Upravo sam se vratio sa projekta u Kambodi, ko
ji sam radio za dobrotvorni fond Water Aid, gde smo,
umesto zgrada, u kapljicama vode fotografisali ljude.
U pitanju je svojevrsna simbolika jer je to narod koji
tek odskora ima pristup istoj vodi. Tokom ovog puta
sam shvatio da nismo svesni koliko ljudi na svetu ne
ma vodu i koliko nisu upueni da ba voda moe zna
vih ivota - kae on.
Iako se ovom vrstom fotografije bavi deceniju i po,
tek je nedavno otkrio svoj rad ljudima.
- Nekada sam hteo da napravim izlobu i tako ove
koveim ovu ideju. Meutim, sa razvojem interneta i
drutvenih mrea sam doao u situaciju da moj rad
primete u celom svetu u roku od 24 sata, to se i de
silo i moram priznati da je oseaj fantastian. Najlep
e kod ovog posla jeste to to imate priliku da prvi
put zabeleite i pokaete neto to se nikad vie ne
e ponoviti. A to je cela filozofija i smisao fotografije
- zakljuuje Duan.

hen a photographer succeeds in making
the object look different, although we had
seen it a million times before - he becomes
an artist. Serbian photographer Dusan Stojancevic
managed that. He captured the worlds most famous
buildings in the droplets of water. He did it without
Photoshop or digital filters.
In the droplets of water in front of his objective, the
architecture of Barcelona, Istanbul, New York and Bel-
grade is recognized as in a mirror.
The famous church Sagrada Familia in a dreamlike
haze, enchanting and magical impression of the Blue
Mosque, grandiosity of one of the highest buildings in
New York, magic of the Bridge on Ada lightened in the
verge of night.
Started with insects
Dusan made the first photograph of this kind 15
years ago, when he started to explore macro photog-
raphy technique.
- I have photographed little things and insects and
then I came up with the idea to do something differ-
ent. At the beginning it was not constant work, but just
a break towards a different approach to photography
- Dusan remembers.
To bring out a droplet of water on a photograph is
complicated enough, but to capture the whole build-
ing, a bridge or part of the city in it is - incomparably
harder.
- Its true, its not easy. Special conditions for work
are needed and thats why I cannot photograph every-
thing that crosses my mind in droplets of water.
I am disappointed, of course, when a photograph
doesnt turn out to be as I expected, but on the oth-
er hand, the pleasure is greater when I succeed - he
explains.
He named the project Micro-cosmos Droplet, be-
cause it reminded him on a different sphere and per-
spective.
- While watching these photographs we could ask
ourselves are we big or small and is there, perhaps,
something that is even bigger and more developed
than us - Dusan thinks.
In order to photograph the Temple of Saint Sava this
way, he stood in front of it, but there is no strict instruc-
tion for making of these miniature works of art and ev-
erything depends on the object.

Naturally, the most of his experiments took place in
Belgrade, but apart from our capital he also watched
Barcelona, Istanbul and New York through the drop-
lets of water and recently he visited Angkors temples
in Cambodia.

- Ive just returned from the project in Cambodia,
that I was doing for charity fund Water Aid. We pho-
tographed people in the droplets of water instead of
buildings there. Its certain symbolic in a way, because
its about people that just recently gained access to
clean water. During this trip I realized that we are not
aware of the fact that many people in the world still
dont have access to clean water, as well as how the
water itself can significantly improve the quality of
someones health and life - he says.
Although he practices this kind of photography for
more than a decade and a half, he just recently pre-
sented his work to the public.
- Once I wanted to make an exhibition and in such a
way present and preserve this idea. But in the mean-
time, with the development of internet and social me-
dia, I came to the point that my work is noticed all
around the world in just 24 hours, which really hap-
pened, and I must admit that the feeling is fantastic.
The most beautiful thing about this job is that you have
the chance to record something for the first time and
show something thats never going to be repeated
again. And thats the whole philosophy and the pur-
pose of photography - Dusan concludes.

Spomenik prirode na jugu Srbije. Nalazi se 89 ki

Devils Town - Natural phenomena
Natural monument in south Serb ia. It is situated 89
kilometers southwest from Nis and 288 kilometers
from Belgrade. Djavolja Varo consists of two rare
phenomena: mystical stone formations created by
erosion and two springs of extremely acid water wi
th high mineral content. Thats why many consider it
to be a world wonder of nature. It comprises of exa
ctly 202 stone formations that are created by the lo
ng and persistent work of nature. According to the le
gend, stone formations are actually a group of petri
fied wedding guests that on devils orders, wanted to
marry a brother and a sister. In order to prevent this,

Ukoliko bespilotni vazduhoplov leti
na udaljenosti manjoj od 500 metara
od znaajnih objekata kao to su ele-
ktrane, dravne ustanove, vojni objek-
ti, auto-putevi, kazneno-popravne usta-
nove, potrebno je i odobrenje korisni-
ka objekta.

The use of unmanned aerial vehicles
is prohibited in urban and densely po-
pulated areas and the drones used for
commercial purposes may y in these
regions only with the prior approval of
the Directorate. It is forbidden to y a
drone at a distance less than ve kilo-
meters from the airport without a spe-
cial permission, as well as at altitudes
higher than 100 meters and it is also
prohibited to throw objects and liquids
from the drone without permission of
the Directorate.
If the unmanned aircraft is ying at
a distance less than 500 meters from
the important facilities such as power
plants, government buildings, military
facilities, highways, correctional institu-
tions, the users approval is needed too.
