RE: Finance Manager

I am very excited to apply for the position of Finance Manager at Melbourne Institute of
Applied Economic and Social Research.

I have completed my Master of Professional Accounting in 2005 and Graduate Diploma of

Finance in 2003. I am an Associate member of CPA Australia.

My extensive experience and knowledge of finance and resources management and Research
accounting grant administration has been well developed in the last 9 years working at The
University of Melbourne.

I am currently a Research Accountant at the Finance and Planning Group. This role requires me
to prepare financial statements for Non-commonwealth Research Projects across the University,
including generating and analysing all types of financial reports, monitoring actual expenditures
against budget, providing support and advice to the Agreement Administrators, Finance
Managers across the University with regarding to financial policies and other finance issues.

Prior to that, I was working at the School of Population and Health Sciences also in the finance
and resources role. I was self-reliant and required minimum supervision running the day-to-day
financial operations and human resource administration for the Schools. I was also involved
with budgetary operation, generation and analysis financial reports for both operating and
project accounts presented to senior management.

I have excellent organisational skill, communication skill and am a dedicated person always
committed to perform all my tasks to the optimum. I am very proficient with Themis Financial
system and all essential application software particularly advanced skill in Excel.

Given my background in Project/Grant management and extensive experience in both financial

operations and human resources management, I am confident that I have all the relevant skills to
successfully undertake this Finance Manager role.
