Thesis Statement

When the time comes to buy a brand-new car or just to trade the old one for a

newer, we have a lot of choices in the market, more than 40 automakers trying to sell a

car here in America. In result of that, the quality, style, price, efficiency, and others

stereotypes are put on the table to help the decision Moreover, this essay will provide

some reasons why many Americans prefer foreign cars instead of a domestic one.

Paragraph 1 Topic Sentence:

One of the causes that Americans prefer foreign cars is because of the better quality,

especially in German and Asian cars.

Supporting Points 1: Based on the J.D Power (2017), an American global marketing

that conducts surveys of customer satisfaction for product quality, pointed that among

23 categories of cars and trucks, foreign brands were elected in 17 the best choices.

Paragraph 2 Topic Sentence:

Another thing that may cause that type of choice and changes people mind is about the

safety of foreign cars that are safer than Americans.

Supporting Points 2: According to the Insurance Institute for Highways Safety (IIHS,

2017), that annually report ranks of safety about cars in the world, shows that Toyota

and Honda companies received 14 awards of Top Safety Pick+ together of a total of 38

cars of several brands. Meanwhile, American brands received just two awards of safety.

Paragraph 3 Topic Sentence:

The design is also taken into consideration when people are looking for a car to buy

making this is another cause for Americans chose an import car.

Aspect 3: When we talk about how amazing the design of any car is, our first thought is

Ferrari, Rolls-Royce, Range Rover, Aston Martin, Jaguar, Lamborghini, Porsche, and a

lot of others auto brands that produce truly masterpieces of design. As a result of this,

brands from America such as Ford and Chevrolet sometimes cant compete equally with

them, and this explains why Americans prefer foreign cars sometimes.

Paragraph 4 Topic Sentence: Foreign brands usually have better fuel efficiency

numbers, since a long time ago

Aspect 4: For the consequence of the promotions to buy cars more ecologically correct,

people may prefer brands with low CO2 emissions. Honda, Toyota, Volkswagen,

Mazda, and many others foreign auto brands usually have better numbers according to

Environmental Protection Agency (EPA, 2016). On the other hand, the big three auto

brands from America lead the list of most thirsty vehicles.

Paragraph 5 Topic Sentence: Loss of revenue of taxes coming from domestic

manufacturers.

Aspect 5: According to CNBC, on May of 2017, Germans report that Trump attacked

the fact that Germans brands are damaging the U.S manufactory industry. They also

said that he pretends to increase the tax on car imports.
