I am a graduate from Medix School with a diploma in Medical Office Assisting. I am interested in obtaining a career
within your establishment. It would be a pleasure to meet with you so that I might demonstrate how my abilities fit your
needs precisely.
During my studies at Medix, I learned and have since put to use; administrative and office skills, records management,
OHIP billing and a multitude of computer software applications such as Publisher, Excel and Word. I feel that my skills
obtained through Medix will be an asset to your company when I apply them to experiences in this field.
What my resume does not reveal is my professional demeanor and appearance. In a business environment, these qualities
are of the utmost importance in dealing with clients as well as co-workers. In me, you’ll discover a reliable, responsible,
confident, detail-oriented, and extremely hard-working associate.
Academically, I am quick to learn new information, with hands on skills and knowledge of office administration
procedures and accounting procedures. I have the ability to deal with clients, and staff, as well as multi-task. My recent
experience of working in a mental health outreach program has given me the opportunity to demonstrate my ability to
have patience, and a positive and caring attitude towards people of all backgrounds. I work well without supervision as an
individual or as a key team player.
Sincerely,
Jennifer Duffield
Objective
To obtain a position that will enable me to use my strong organizational skills, educational background, and
ability to work well with people, as well as to enhance my professional skills in a dynamic and stable
workplace.
Skills
During my schooling at Medix I have learned a multitude of skills such as how to take vital signs,
proper grammar techniques, proper communication styles, medical terminology and anatomy,
appointment scheduling, urinalysis, Microsoft Power Point, Access, transcription and much more.

I am a multi-tasking individual who loves to think on her feet.
I have a great ability to get along with all types of people.

Receptionist/Administration duties obtained through my externship at Brant ACTT.
Education
Medix School (2009)
I received my diploma, as well as an honour roll award, upon completion of my Medical Office
Assistant course in October 2009.
Experience
The tasks involved in my job included all aspects of patient scheduling, making and receiving calls, all of
the transcriptions, and general office duties such as filing, faxing and scanning. I was responsible for
greeting patients, OHIP billing, cash transactions and opening the office in the morning. I updated and
maintained all patient information confidentially and I really enjoyed the conversations with the diverse
culture of people within the patient roster.
As a collector, I was responsible for contacting and arranging payment options for debtors.
As a supervisor at Tim Horton’s, I was responsible for staff scheduling, customer care issues, staff job
tasks, and all monies handled during my shift. I was a very confident, understanding, and fair person in
that leadership role.
Kmart
Volunteer Experience
My work for the rescue group included foster care, vet appointments, medication administrations, shelter
rescues, adoption interviews, adopt-a-thons, and the all around love and care for the animals that I housed.
This experience was very rewarding for me, as I fell in love with each and every cat that I took in. The love
I felt in return from these kitties was amazing and completely gratifying.
