Do you know who was Sohrabuddin Sheikh?

Sohrabuddin Sheikh is making rounds in the news headlines for some days/weeks now. Do you know
who Sohrabuddin Sheikh was ? One needs to talk to law enforcement officials of four states of
Rajasthan, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh and Gujrat to get an idea just how dreaded and notorious
criminal Mr. Sheikh was. He was popular extortionist from Rajashtan’s Marble business lobby and
Gujarat’s builder/real estate lobby. He had bases in Karnavati(Amdavad/Ahmedabad), Udaypur and

Central Govt is clearly misusing CBI as a tool. Gujarat Govt and Police officers of Gujarat are being
framed. This is also de-moralizing our present officers. These are the same officers thanks to whom our
Gujarat has enjoyed exemplary peace. Natives of Gujarat knows all too well that thanks to these brave
officers our sisters/women fearlessly roam past mid-night ‘alone’ on streets during festive seasons such
as Navaratri. Having nothing against Gujarat Govt, Central govt is desperate to corner Guj. Govt on just
about anything. Why so much fuss about a criminal who was a clear threat to society?
Any uncalled actions that weakens our present police force’s efficiency, motivation or morale requires
careful attention.

Following questions must be asked/answered.

1) Out of hundreds of encounter that occurs every year throughout India, on what basis/selection
criteria Central Govt decides to rope in CBI in any case?
2) If any such criteria exists, has it been applied ever before Mr. Sheikh’s case?
3) If any, in how many cases after Mr. Sheikh’s case, CBI has been involved in another encounter
case ?
4) If any, was CBI able to convict anyone in the court in any such similar case?
5) Do CBI has enough resources to prioritize such case against the backdrop of many pending cases
related to national security issues? Or is this case more important than national security related
cases ? (i.e kickbacks in Defense deals and massive delays in the procurement of new weapons
due pending cases/stalled deals)

Besides all these questions, there are elements of media that seems to have much at stake in gathering
public support for “innocent Mr. Sheikh”, as they claim it.

Deshdaaz requests you to share these facts with people you know. Let’s make sure, nothing comes in
our way to keep our Gujarat safe, peaceful and happy as ever.
