OBJECTIVES: Content Standard : 2.2. Apply a range of strategies to comprehend texts related to everyday living.
2.3 Analyze and evaluate various texts.
Learning Standard : 2.2.2 Locate and organize information by: (i) Using graphic organisers
2.3.1 Read various texts and retrieve information by: (i) skimming and scanning
STEPS ACTIVITY
1 1. Teacher completes the first word puzzle with the class, demonstrating how to locate and identify answers from the
LESSON DEVELOPMENT text.
2. The students then attempt the rest on their own. Teacher will walk around the class to guide the weaker ones.
3. Once completed, the students will then use their answers from Exercise A to complete Exercise B by filling in
the blanks. Teacher will continue to offer extra guidance to those who need it by giving hints or clues to the
answers for the students to figure them out.
4. Answers will be discussed and marked together in class.
2 Corrections must be made where necessary.

Grammar Imperative form of verbs (cont.)
OBJECTIVES: At the end of the lesson, the students are able to write orders / give orders.
STEPS ACTIVITY
1 1. Revise the imperative form of verbs.
LESSON DEVELOPMENT 2. Look at the pictures given in the worksheet.
3. Teacher demonstrates ways to give orders and write some of the instructions on the whiteboard.
4. Students are to match the correct pictures to the correct sentences.
5. They then write a sentence about each picture.
6. Answers will later be discussed and marked together.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES: At the end of the lesson, students are able to read and understand the meaning of words from print media.
The students are also able to record their readings in their NILAM book.
STEPS ACTIVITY
1 1. Students will be either brought to the school library where the teacher will assist them in book

allowed to bring an English book of their choice.

Writing Writing Instructions ( How An Omelette Is Made )
OBJECTIVES: At the end of the lesson, the students are able to write simple instructions.
STEPS ACTIVITY
1 1. Teacher asks students if they like to eat omelette and whether they know how to prepare one.
LESSON DEVELOPMENT 2. The class looks at the pictures and notes.
3. Students then attempt to give instructions on how an omelette is made. The teacher will write the
instructions on the blackboard.
4. The class goes through the instructions together and the teacher will make corrections where
necessary.
5. The students then write the instructions in their exercise book.

OBJECTIVES: At the end of the lesson, the students are able to tell how a dry cell works.
STEPS ACTIVITY
1 1. Teacher asks the students the following questions :
LESSON DEVELOPMENT A. Do you use batteries at home? B. How many kinds of batteries do you know of?
2. Teacher shows different types of batteries to the class.
3. Teacher then shows the class a torchlight and a battery.
4. The class will also be shown the structure of a dry cell and its part label each part.
5. They will listen to a listening text twice and complete the True/False statements and objective questions in
the textbook.
6. The students are also required to draw a cell and label each part.
