Project Deliverables

The project deliverables corresponds to the work breakdown whereby the target outcome for

each task or a group of task is identified. The projects deliverables have been broken down

into three distinct categories based on the different stages of the project. This structure

ensures that the relevant project deliverables are met before proceeding to the next phase of

the project.

Pre-Construction Deliverables.
Selection of a proper location with community engagement

Since this is a road construction project the client is the general public. Therefore this bridge

must be made for public satisfaction. Public consultation will be taken to determine a perfect

location and plans to the bridge.

Approval of the stake holders

The project conceptual plan will be presented to the stake holders. They will decide to

approve or not based on the requirement of the outcome of the bridge. Our team will be

highlighting the points that will develop the four village into a cultural hub via this bridge.

Provision of permits

Since this is a bridge which affects the entire community the legal requirements should be

fulfilled. Approval need to be taken from Construction Industry Development Board (CIDB)

and Department of Occupational Safety and Health Malaysia (DOSH).

Hiring of a contractor

Tender invitations will be sent to hire a contractor. Based on the tender designs and time

frames the most suitable one will be hired. The reputation in the construction field and

previously completed projects will also be accounted when selecting the contractor.
Proper analysis of the location selected

First a geotechnical analysis will be conducted to investigate the properties of the soil. Next a

hydraulic analysis will be conducted to determine the water supply and natural water systems

within the area of construction. Then the surrounding area will be analyzed e.g. human living

areas and biological eco systems.

Preparation of the risk analysis

A risk analysis should be prepared analyzing the all possible risks that can occur. Steps that

our team plan to take to avoid those hardships and backup plans to take if they arrive will also

be planned in this analysis.

Preparation of a proper place to start the construction

In order to prepare the site ready for the construction a leveling survey will take place and

site will be hoarded. Then logistic work will also take place in parallel.

Construction Deliverables

Completion of the foundation for abutment and pier

The place will be first landscaped by cutting and filling as required in the plan. Then box

casing should be setup by keeping the casing under water. Foundation must be built for

abutment and pier both.

Completion of tower

The tower plays a very big role in taking most of the loadings on the bridge therefore the

construction of tower must be help in proper location as design.

Completely constructed bridge

The cable stayed will be attached to the deck from the tower and this is done using balance

cantilever method. All specifications is follow thoroughly and the construction of bridge ends

when the deck reaches the abutment at both sides.

Completion of elevated road

The construction of elevated road starts at each abutment to the main road. A t- junction is

use to connect the main road with the elevated road.

Finalization for bridge construction

The remaining parts during this stage is the final touches that has to be made to make this

bridge a proper road according to the traffic rules and regulations. The cables will be coated

to protect from the elements that induce corrosion upon it. The traffic signals will be placed

methodically. The road will be painted. e.g. line diving the two sides of travel and the bridge

will be aesthetically decorated as per design.

Post-Construction Deliverables

A fully inspected bridge for safety

A safety inspection will be done to check the suitability of the bridge for public usage. If

there are any amendments to be done they will be done under the inspection of the project

manager.

A proper constructed bridge between the village for the public

The site will be cleaned and the temporary site office building a labor accommodation will be

removed. The commitments of the entire team involved in this project will be a success with

the completion of the bridge. This will be opened to the general public usage.
Communication Plan

A proper communication plan is essential to ensure our project is successful with minimal

delays and within budget. All stakeholders must have a proper understanding of the project

goals and the current progress of the project, therefore a communication plan has been

developed. This plan briefs the necessary steps that Integrated Design Consultant (IDC) will

implement to ensure all stakeholders are provided with relevant information and that

everyone involved is focused on achieving the project goals and making the project

successful.

Before- construction

Kick off meeting

This meeting is a face to face meeting between IDC representatives and the client. Since this

project is to be utilized by the general public, the client will be relevant government authority

representatives. This meeting is designed to introduce the project whilst explaining how the

construction of this bridge will provide a better future for everyone involved.

Information regarding time scheduling and the costing will be discussed during this meeting.
