Water Mist
Fire Suppression System
INTRODUCTION
Recent years have seen a substantial reappraisal of approaches
to fire protection. Among the exciting developments is the use
of water, that most natural of substances, deployed as a highly
efficient fire spray.
The Chemetron Fire Systems water mist system is a hazard-
specific solution for high risk facilities and has the following
outstanding features:
C Non-toxic
C Highly efficient fire suppression capability
C Wide range of applications
C Manual or Automatic (with manual override) operation
C Hazard specific discharge timing sequences
C Low level water annunciation
C Low nitrogen pressure annunciation
C 45, 70 and 100 gallon capacity water tanks

KEY FEATURES Water Mist Skid Arrangement

The Chemetron water mist system features uniquely designed Chemetron CFS
nozzles offering optimum droplet size, flow rates and spray Gas Turbine
coverage, with:
Water Mist Nozzle
C Single fluid atomization
C No moving parts in the nozzle for maximum reliability
C 350 psi (24 bar) operating pressure
C 110 micron mean droplet size.

OPTIONS
C Heated enclosure
C Stainless steel water tank
C Explosion-proof controls
C Custom sized water tanks

TECHNOLOGY
Water is an outstanding physical agent as a result of its excep-
tionally high heat capacity and latent heat of vaporization. Its
use in the past has been limited by means of deployment that
utilize only a small fraction of its fire fighting capability.
Water mist achieves fire extinguishment by a number of pro- Chemetron FS

C Inerting as a result of vapor production that excludes oxygen
from the flame front. This generation of vapor dilutes the
oxygen percentage in the air and combats the fire. The use of water as a fine mist from stand-alone systems
