elaborate so as to simplify your preparation efforts and timings. So, pls read
the full post till the end.

Achieving a top rank in any competitive exam will be easier, if we are doing the Consistent Precise
Preparation. Top rank in Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission (TNPSC) exams can be achieved with

What do we mean by Consistent Precise Preparation? The Preparation Strategy which makes you to
complete the overall TNPSC syllabus (and Revision too) so that, you will be confident of clearing the
exam while getting out of the exam hall itself. Whatever the preparation strategy be, but its success
lies only within you. We will show you here, what is meant by precise preparation, but it is you who
can make it Consistent. Consistency doesnt mean preparing fully for 3 days in a week and taking 4
days leave by satisfying that, we have prepared much. Consistency is, preparing daily upto a
satisfactory level so as to complete our planned syllabus.
Every preparation strategy for TNPSC aims to complete the overall TNPSC Syllabus. Our strategy here
too does the same. But, we aim to give you the best self study strategy which will be a simplified one
and avoids the unwanted burden of reading many books, so as to make you to achieve a top rank in
TNPSC exams.
Nothing can be achieved without hard work. We strongly believe in that. If you are looking for an
easy trick to clear TNPSC, then this is not right place for you. Here we fully focus on Smart
Preparation which will make you to clear TNPSC exams without the need of attending any
commercial academy or spending too much money in study materials (for this reason, our online
free academy is launched). Here we will give you the simplified strategy by which reading only the
needed books & materials (Most are available freely) you can achieve a top rank in tnpsc exams as
many has already done so.

We had made the preparation strategy for TNPSC exams as Integrated Preparation Strategy and
Individual Preparation Strategy (specifically focusing on individual TNPSC exams). The Integrated
TNPSC Exam preparation strategy gives you the full preparation guide so as to clear any TNPSC
exams right from Group 1, Group 2, Group 2A, and Group 3, Group 4, VAO and others. Integrated
Preparation Strategy is a one preparation strategy by preparing in that method, you will be able to
get through any TNPSC exams. The individual exam preparation strategies specifically focuses the
individual Group 1, Group 2, Group 2A, Group 4, VAO exams so as to clear them if you are
specifically targeting them.
If you are new to TNPSC exam preparations, we highly recommend you to go with Integrated
Preparation Strategy as it will give you an overall preparation guide. If you are focusing any one
exam or wish to prepare them after its notification, you can go by Individual Preparation Strategies.
Here are some this and that about TNPSC. You can ignore them and go to Preparation Strategy or
read them for more elaborate view on TNPSC exam preparation.
Can I Clear TNPSC Exam?

Yes you can. Anybody can. It doesnt depend on the persons ability or knowledge. It entirely
depends on the persons Preparation (Smart Work). We will show you what this smart work means
in our preparation strategy. Before that, go through this little calculus:
TNPSC Notifies for any exam Say there are some 1000 vacancies
Person applying for exam - nearly some 10,00,000 (10 Lakhs)! Therefore Competition is 1000
persons for 1 vacancy.
Person thinking to study for the exam (neglect those who apply based on parents or neighbours
pressure and those simply for name sake) nearly 2,00,000 goes. Now competition is among the
remaining 8,00,000.
Person studying for exam (by joining in any institute or self study, etc) 1,00,000 (we are serious
here. It is true, nearly 1 lakh students are only studying among those applying)
Person actually preparing (we mean here consistent precise preparation) 30,000 to 40,000. These
are the real competitors. Now the competition is 30 to 40 people for single vacancy. Here the
difference lies among those who uses those 3 hours of examination well and clears the exam (it
relies on solving question papers).

Now you tell With a simplified strategy, Consistent Precise preparation, you
can clear the TNPSC exams or not? Yes You Can. We believe, Do You?

Myths about TNPSC Exam Preparation

1. Need to go to a commercial academy and attend classes Not needed. We will give you the
simplified preparation strategy by which you can study by yourself without the need of going
to any institute. We are not against attending classes in commercial academies, we wish to
help those who cannot spend money on commercial tnpsc academies.
2. Need to read many bulk materials Definitely not. Should focus on what are the needed
materials alone. Here we will suggest you the needed books and materials so as to make you
to get a top rank in TNPSC exams.
3. Can I clear the exam while working Yes you can. Our preparation strategy will help you.

Preparation Strategy

In any Preparation Strategy we need to know:

What to Study (General Syllabus and Approach)
Where to Study (Books and Materials)
How to Study
Integrated Preparation Strategy
The Integrated Preparation Strategy gives you a full-fledged guide for preparing all TNPSC exams viz
Group 1, Group 2, Group 2A, Group 3, Group 4, VAO and Others in a one go.

What to Study:
What to study is what TNPSC has given as Syllabus. As we analyse the TNSPC syllabus for various
exams, we can see related topics being asked in many prelims (almost all). So preparation for all
prelims will be almost same, except some variations. Note that, the below preparation strategy
covers the General Studies Paper in prelims of all exams. For the second paper (General English/
General Tamil) of Group 2, Group 2A, Group 3, Group 4, VAO a separate preparation strategy will be
posted shortly.

The Entire TNPSC Syllabus can be simplified as:

o Science
Physics, Chemistry, Botany &Zoology
o Current Affairs of
History, Polity, Geography, Economy & Science
o Geography
o History and Culture of India
o Indian Polity
o Indian Economy
o Indian National Movement
o Aptitude and Logical Reasoning
In the breakup of above TNPSC Syllabus, certain General Topics is same for all exams (Group 1,
Group 2, Group 2A, Group3, Group 4, and VAO) and certain additional topics are included in
corresponding exams syllabus. We have analysed the topics and simplified it for you as given below:

Medieval Histories are not included in Group 2 and Group 2A Exams.
2. If you complete the General Topics first, you can complete nearly 70% of the overall
TNPSC Syllabus for any exams (Group 1, Group 2, Group 2A, Group 3, Group 4, and
VAO).
The above is the complete set of Syllabus for preparing TNPSC Exams. We highly
recommend you to take a print out of the above syllabus and keep it handy for your
preparation. For PDF of the above simplified syllabus, Click Here.
So, now we know, what to study. Next is Where to Study.

Where to Study:

This section covers the books and study materials for the above syllabus. This Integrated TNPSC
exam preparation strategy focuses on giving you the simplified books rather than listing complicated
and costly study materials. We are not just going to list the books needed for each syllabus. Instead,
each and every topic will be analysed separately and individual topic oriented preparation chapters
will be specified. It is very important to note that, our preparation strategy for TNPSC Exams mostly
relies on SAMACHEER Books rather than other study materials. It is also very important to note that,
we strictly suggest you to go by Samacheer Books directly for the topics rather than reading any
Samacheer Guides (notes out of samacheer books, which are available as study materials). Also for
those topics, in which Samacheer books are insufficient, we will give you the most reliable other
sources.

Why Samacheer Books?

It is a simple answer, TNPSC is directly asking from them. Take any recent TNPSC Question paper
and analyse the questions, you can see that most conventional topics are asked from Samacheer
books. For your surprise, even TNPSC Group 1 (2015 & 2016) and Group 2 (2016) Mains written
exam questions are directly asked from SAMACHEER BOOK BACK QUESTIONS. Also Samacheer
books will give you an overall view of any topic. Why we suggest going directly by samacheer (rather
than guides) is that, to cover the relevant topics fully. Remember that, our aim is to get a TOP RANK
in TNPSC Exams. All Samacheer books are available for free in pdf. Dont waste your hard earned
money on other study materials unless it is worth and important.

Topic oriented preparation:

Note:
Italic topics in [General Topics] are not needed in Group 2 and Group 2A Exams.
* - Indicates topics which are not exclusively given in TNPSC syllabus but questions were asked in
exams.
** - Indicates topic important for Group 1 and Group 2 alone.

How to Study:

Completion of the full syllabus is needed to get a Top Rank in TNPSC Exams. So always focus to
complete the overall syllabus of TNPSC.
Complete the General Topics first so as to get an overall view of TNPSC Exams and also to get ready
to face any TNPSC Exams in the near future. Keep in mind that, do not wait till TNPSC notifications to
start your preparation. You will hardly get less time for preparation after notifications. So, start your
preparation right from today to get a Top Rank in TNPSC Exams.

Current Affairs
Read Current Affairs daily from www.tnpsc.Academy/current-affairs You need to have current
affairs knowledge atleast of past 6 months before the notification of any TNPSC exams (Past 8
months is best). But do not read current affairs of past 6 months by buying any books or materials
and reading one month before the exam. Because, reading current affairs like a subject before the
exam may help you to answer the Objective type but for Mains in TNPSC Group 1 and Group 2
exams, consistent analysis of current affairs is enough. Our current affairs will give you the important
news and analysis from all National and State Newspapers and also we cover important Government
websites and other reliable sources so that you can answer any current affairs question in TNPSC
Exams.
Optional Papers & Mains Preparation
Prepare for optional papers General Tamil Or General English. If you specifically focus only Group 1
Exam of TNPSC, you can ignore this. If you are familiar with optional subjects already, then read it
daily atleast an hour for one and a half (1 ) months before the exam. If you are new to preparing
your optional subject, then read it atleast three months before the exams (Separate optional subject
preparation strategy will be covered later).
When you have completed the General Topics in our preparation strategy, then start with the
specific topics (Group 2A, Group 2, Group 1 topics). While you are about to start the specific topics
for preparation, start your Mains preparation too for Group 1 and Group 2 Exams.

Practice Aptitude and Reasoning

Practice Aptitude and Logical reasoning atleast one month before the TNPSC Exam. Remember that,
TNPSC will ask 25 Apps & Reasoning questions. If you practice the apps and reasoning syllabus for
just one month, we are sure that, you can attend minimum of 22 questions out of 25 questions (Get
all 25 correct with best practice). We have simplified the Apps and Reasoning preparation specially
for your TNPSC Exams here. If you need books for Apps and Reasoning Preparation, we suggest you
to go by Fast Track Objective Arithmetic by Arihant Publications. You need to practice only
Base Level Questions from that book. It is enough for TNPSC (No need of Higher Skill level
questions from that book). Also we highly suggest to NOT to go with RS Aggarwal aptitude book. It
is an aptitude book for Engineering Placement (People practice apps from this book for competitive
exams and feel apps and reasoning as tedious).

Final Sum up
Read Current Affairs Daily.
Prepare your General Topics.
Prepare for Optional Papers.
After completing General Topics, Prepare for Other topics and Mains in Group 1 and Group.
Prepare for Aptitude and Reasoning atleast 1 hr.

As we have already told, whatever the Strategy be, it is in your hand to prepare
consistently so as to get a Top Rank in any TNPSC Exams as Group 1, Group 2, Group 2A,
Group 4, VAO and Others. Prepare consistently and just be relaxed, the results will tell the
rest.

Wish You All the Best!
