INSTALLING PEGA ROBOTIC AUTOMATION
STUDIO
This document provides step-by-step instructions for installing Pega Robotic Automation
Studio in preparation for taking the Pega Robotic Automation Studio Architect Essentials
course. This training course is designed to help you realize the full value of your Pega Robotic
Automation Studio software.
There are two editions of Studio, as explained here:

Studio (standalone) Studio is a complete standalone version built for developers who do not have
Microsoft Visual Studio 2015 installed.
As part of the Studio installation, the Microsoft Visual Studio 2015 Isolated Shell is
installed, which provides the IDE foundation for Studio and a familiar, feature-rich
development environment.
Studio plug-in The Studio plug-in for Microsoft Visual Studio 2015 integrates with Visual Studio 2015,
so you can leverage Microsoft developer tools to rapidly create Studio projects from
within Visual Studio.

Both editions include support for all of the features in the Pega Robotic Automation Studio
Integrated Development Environment (IDE) and you can switch between editions as your needs and
environments change. For the training courses, we recommend that you install the standalone
version.

Studio
Use the following instructions to install Studio 8.0.
